  1. The i5 4690k has a max turbo frequency of 3.9MHz. Getting 4.4MHz would be a win. You are then running at the i7 4790k max turbot frequency, which in my book is good. That is almost 13% over max turbo frequency. Does it make a difference in Skyrim? Probably not. Overclocking the GPU would be a bigger improvement.
  2. In all cases Rustic Children seems most like what is currently in STEP. RS Children is my preference and what I currently use. But both Rustic Children and RS Children are nice and an improvement over STEP. I like Skyrim Child Overhaul the least, something looks weird about them. For STEP, I would vote for Rustic Children.
  3. @TechAngel85. I have decided to give this mods a shot. Question: The installer under 3. Patches gives the choice of installing patches for "No Snow Under the Roof" or "Better Dynamic Snow" (now part of the Ruffled Feather mod), but not both. I use both those mods, but I cannot choose both. Do I run the installer twice to get both?
  4. I had the same thing happen. In my case, I believe it was due to the mod "Sexy Idle Animation". I believe I had idle 1 selected and switching to idle 3 fixed it. I have not tried any of the other idles. I you are not using this mod then it is due to something else.
  5. If you are following Skyrim Revisited, you should extract BSAs as instructed in the guide. This gives you more control over which textures are going to be used, since what is lower in the load order on the left pane overwrites what come prior. It also saves you some ESP slots that become unnecessary, as they are only there to load the BSAs. IIRC lose files take priority over files in BSAs. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.
  6. The optimized version says something about different enblocal.ini settings. Could that be the change?
  7. Based on the image, it looks like you are follow SR:LE not STEP. Did your follow the following advice from Neovalen: "Special Installation: The contents of R.S. Patcher Edit Scripts file should be extracted to the TES5Edit/Edit Scripts installation directory. Do not overwrite the mteFunctions.pas installed earlier from Merge Plugins TES5Edit Script as it is more up to date. After BOSS sorting is complete, perform the following:" The "mteFunctions.pas" is part of TES5Edit v3.0.33r1910 EXPERIMENTAL and is found here. You did not by chance overwrite it with the one from "Real Shelter"?
  8. I am not familer with the following: [PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=trueInitProxyFunctions=trueProxyLibrary=d3d9_hialgo.dll <- Is this from RealVision? What is the d3d9_hialho.dll file and what does it belong to? Also RealVision is installed in two parts, the mod part and ENB part. Deactivate the mod part in MO if not longer using RealVision. If you are not using any ENB then in enblocal.ini: [GLOBAL]UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true
  9. Have you made your account an administrator? Usually Microsoft does like regular users being administrators and warns against it. Like I said, I do not have windows 8.1 so I can not tell you how to do it. But google is your friend.
  10. If you have not done so already, right-click on the MO.exe select properties, select the compatibility tab, and check "run as administrator". I have windows 7, so in windows 8 things may be different, I don't know.
  11. Assuming you are running MO, the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files used by MO are those in your "MO\profiles\{your profile name here}" directory and not those in your "C:\Users\{your user name here}\Documents\My Games\Skyrim" directory. To fix your problem the following should be in your SkyrimPrefs.ini Change to width W and height H to fit your monitor.
  12. Actually two upgrades. I had an EVGA GTX 680 4GB FTW, that was replaced with my son's hand-me-down EVGA GTX 770 4GB Classified probably about 4 weeks ago. Now the EVGA GTX 980 4GB FTW. The GTX 980, was a hugh upgrade over the previous two cards, at least for Skyrim. Also, note that I need the speed because I am running with nvidia 3D Vision, so I need 120 fps just to see 60 fps. If it wasn't for the 3D Vision the 770 would have been good enough. EDIT: FYI, using Skyrim Performance Monitor, even with the new card I am frequently going over 3.5 GB VRAM and often close to 4 GB, otherwise if it wasn't for that, I would have bought a GTX 970 and would have been screwed by the card actually only having 3.5 GB VRAM effectively. With some changes I am now getting about 40 fps outdoors and close to 60 fps indoors (keep in mind double that due to 3D Vision) and I am only running at 1080p.
  13. Why not use the search function? It is the box on the right bellow the both the left and right pane that says NameFilter.
  14. I received my new EVGA GTX 980 4GB FTW yesterday and got it installed today. Gained about 10 fps (from 20 to 30 in outdoors) running SR:LE in Nvidia 3D Vision. Trying to figure out settings to get the FPS up some more.
  15. First off I do have windows 8.1 and thus do not have the steam/MO issue. But I had a similar issue with MO when upgrading to MO 1.2.18. I my case MO failed to start all programs (BOSS, BASH, SKSE, etc.). I resolved the issue by reinstalling MO. The point that I want to make is that windows records events when things/applications fail. These can be found for windows 7 under Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer. In event viewer choose Windows Logs->Applications and look for 'Error' by scrolling and report what you find. Again I assume windows 8.1 has similar application logs as they existed in windows for some time. Since only some people using windows 8.1 are effected, it might help narrow down the cause.
  16. I am wondering if you are running into the issues discussed in this forum. Something about a steam update preventing MO from running Skyrim and/or Fallout New Vagus.
  17. I would look at installing SKSE 1.72 with the memory fix if you haven't already along with the latest ENBoost. Freezes/Crash to Desktop (CTDs) normally happen when you exceeded available memory.
  18. I largely follow Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition (SR:LE) guide. Here is what he has to say, like me you have an Nvidia card: Check against yours.
  19. It sounds like you have your ENBoost working correctly. Skyrim Performance Monitor tells you how much VRAM you have. It is listed on the bottom left along with your CPU, GPU, etc. Your have 4GB VRAM from your image or 4098 MG and you have 16GB system memory or 16248 MB. I would not worry to much about GPU going 100%, your max temp is shown as 55C. No problem.
  20. I just bought a EVGA GTX 980 4GB FTW. Hopefully I will have good luck with it.
  21. Are you kidding me? Lights make the machine, and "Uthgerd" is damn purrty. I might just be me, I buy everything for looks not just performance . Why else have a case with a window when the machine is not all lit up inside. I'd take that bet.
  22. So are you sticking with the same card? Coil whine was one of the issues I read about in reviews with the Gigabyte GTX 980 4GB G1 along with sagging due to weight, and arriving with a bend back board causing some fans not to work. To be fair only a small percentage of people complained, so it might be luck of the draw. When it comes time for me to upgrade (soon), I was leaning toward the EVGA, I have never had issues with their cards and owned quite a few.
  23. When you initially ran Skyrim Performance Monitor, you had it pointing to your Skyrim.ini here Is this where your modified all your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPref.ini settings? If so, you are doing it wrong. Those files are used when running Skyrim outside of MO. You should have modified the ones in your "\MO\profiles\{your profile name here}" directory. In your enblocal.ini in your Skyrim binaries directory for the line: set the value equal to your video memory (VRAM) size if you are using a 32 bit version of windows. If you are using a 64 bit version of windows set is to your VRAM + System RAM - 2048. So for example if you run windows 7 64bit and have a 4GB video card and 8GB of system memory you should use 4096+8192-2048=10240. You should use the latest version of ENBoost from Boris's web site, not one from the Nexus. It can be found here. For Skyrim Performance Monitor in Setup -> Miscellaneous Settings , check "Minimize on Skyrim Lauch", "Attempt Support for Custom d3d9.dll", and anything you want to see in game. Use Skyrim Performance Monitor to launch MO (it will minimize Performance Monitor and MO will start), then launch Skyrim running SKSE from MO. If your ENB is running correctly you should see your graphic card statistics in the upper left. After having run and exiting Skyrim, you can maximize Skyrim Performance Monitor and view the stats of your graphics card. From the ENB page you should modify your SkyrimPrefs.ini to include: This is for your SkyrimPrefs.ini located in your "MO\profiles\{your profile name here}" directory. Hope it helps.
  24. Skyrim Performance Monitor should point to: C:\SKYRIM_MODDING\Mod Organizer\profiles\Dans SRLE2\skyrim.ini (or to your current profile skyrim.ini) C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim\TESV.exe (your main binary) C:\SKYRIM_MODDING\Mod Organizer\ModOrganizer.exe (The main MO exe) Then through MO start Skyrim by running SKSE.
  25. It means the load priority should be: Weapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.esp Weapons & Armor_TrueOrcish&DaedricWeapons.esp Hence True and after Fixes_Remade.
