DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
So that's why the snow looks so awesome in game. -
Book of Silence comes with built in wizards now so ignore the BCFs, I'll have to remember to delete those files form the wiki.

loose file and optimization question
EssArrBee replied to youtoo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Actually, I think reading the unpacked file is a bit faster, but since Bethesda designed their own archives and the engine has native support for the BSAs, there is basically zero cost. If an asset is not in RAM and has to be retrieved from disk then we are talking about thousands or clock cycles, packed or unpacked. The best reason for using a BSA is saving space. The only time I unpack then is if it saves an esp slot. -
I'd skip DDSopting SFO altogether. Vurt is pretty much a pro in that he does the textures and reworks the meshes so it all fits together. Because of that it is hard to really optimize his work, it is professional level stuff so it is about as optimal as it can be. On a side note, he recently did some System Shock 2 work that was pretty sweet.

I'm sure you can find a bunch on the nexus that are for vanilla.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm starting to think something like Zan AutoPurge might work a bit better for decreasing the cell buffer since it uses a timed interval that is tweaked with MCM. I bet the scripts would be easier to port over. I'm guessing it would seem like it works in the way cleanmen worked except that it uses the purge cell buffer function every so often instead of just trying to clear the working set. -
DROPPED 26 Moon Size Tweeks (by akindain)
EssArrBee replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Only Core mods have the green bar next to them on the list and this mod does not have that green bar next to it. -
There are already plenty of threads asking this same question and the answer is always the same. We would love that type of setup, but it is just not possible for a bunch of different reasons.

When I installed the newest beta everything seemed fine until about 30 minutes after updating, I get a warning saying that I'm low on memory. Process explorer shows the physical mem at 5.9/6.0GB and system commit at 23 GB and no program was using more that 300MB. Whatever Nvidia did when they went to the 320 series drivers was not good.

In alphabetical order the order numbers should be out of order since they are different ways of listing the mods. When you click Order then it should list the mods in the order of the number next to them, and in that list you can drag and drop the mods into the place you want. As for not being able to use the 'Move to' feature I wouldn't know how to fix that except maybe trying to reinstall the python stuff manually and then reinstall WB.

Skyrim Crash/freeze every 20 min
EssArrBee replied to 404NoNameFound's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You would have to check with the author if he/she writes their own scripts or uses some made by someone else. I know that Crimson Tide and EBT were both using some written by the same guy, but Crimson Tide used an older version that was causing save game corruption or some other terrible thing. If the author writes their own then it would still need testing. -
SKYRIMLE Solstheim landscape and furniture (by Langely)
EssArrBee replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Isn't there a mystery modder landscape for Solstiem as well? I like the vanilla myself, since it looks the most like flat ash. -
When you click the 'order' tab does it list the mods in order of number?

I grabbed an ENB that was updated to v193 before Boris posted his ini to the nexus and it was working really good on the memory side of things. I was only getting up to around 1200MB RAM and had double that before. My VRAM was around 1800MB out of 2GB, so it seemed to that it did it's job. My concern is that the latest ENB destroys performance and I imagine that Boris is going to have to do some optimizing, which is sad because he just finished optimizing a great deal of features in ENB.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If we use this with just the memory fix and no graphics, then can we shut of the INI tweaks for ENB? -
The 1.0.2 is the version of explosive bolts visualized file, the 1.0.0 is the version of the hd textures. I looked them up the regular files are 512x512 and the HD are 1024x1024.

SKYRIMLE aMidianBorn Roads and Bridges by CaBaL
EssArrBee replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The other mod Cabal recommended, Skyrim Realistic Textures Overhaul, just came out with a dirt update and they look really good from the photorealism perspective. I might try those out with these tonight if I feel up to it, we'll have to see how much this heat takes out of me. F**k the Southwest. -

Discussion Topic: ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov Wiki Link STEP does not recommend downloading the Skyrim Nexus version of ENBoost due to incorrect settings for STEP. Grab the latest binary from ENB Dev: https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html Boris's VRAMSizeTest Tool for ENBoost: https://enbdev.com/download_vramsizetest.html For Skyrim run the DX9 version. For Windows 7, subtract 170 from the value the tool gives. For Windows 8/10, subtract 305 from the value the tool gives. Set VideoMemorySizeMb in the "Enblocal.ini" file to the resulting value. CTD and Performance patch ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov Looks like Boris has pretty much figured out his memory fix and released it on the nexus. I believe you still need ENB and then the file on the nexus is an extra INI that is dependent on your videocard.

If I DDSopt my textures, can I skip the HRDLC in step 2.F. ?
EssArrBee replied to KiloWatts's question in DDSopt Support
No the INI covers all textures that get messed up by being optimized. A lot of the textures are labeled in the INI if you open it up, otherwise if you see a texture that looks funny you can report it and someone will take a look at it. -
It works, but you gotta wait a for it to start. I had this problem the other day, it took almost 30 seconds for the game to launch, and actually it's taking just as long for the latest ENB to launch.

It's a mod that overhauls the character creation menu, the disable face gen cache is a SKSE plugin that is one of the optional files. It will keep Skyrim from crashing if you have hi-res body textures and lots of hair mods when you use the showracemenu console command. I recommend both the Race Menu mod and the disable face gen cache.
