SKYRIMLE Better Vanilla Hairs - Mesh Replacements
WilliamImm replied to justjr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Please post the shots you take in this thread, and also follow the Mod Testing guidelines there (all optionals should be tested for both hair mods) -
SKYRIMLE Better Vanilla Hairs - Mesh Replacements
WilliamImm replied to justjr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thing is, this can go with AOF hair as well, as this is just a mesh replacer. Maybe you posted in the wrong thread? Also, screens (w/o ENB) would be appreciated. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 -
It's just been added now, anyway.

Poor performance with good system spec
WilliamImm replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
In fact, I'd suggest you put two additional 4GB blocks in your system to boost your memory to a healthy 12 GB - which should give you plenty enough ram to run Skyrim without stuttering. -

I've put up a optional (but recommended) request to take screenshots using both of those mods. -
ACCEPTED Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures (by skyrimaguas)
WilliamImm replied to FCqt's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
In almost all cases, 1k is better for textures. Why? Because it doesn't use up that much VRAM. I'd use 2k mainly for textures used on large objects, like structure, or giant creatures. Well, given I've been promoted to orange, your wish will be granted! -

Bumping - even though only a few hairs are covered right now, it's still a massive improvement, espically when combined with hair texture replacers. -
ACCEPTED Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures (by skyrimaguas)
WilliamImm replied to FCqt's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, correct my mistaken initial impression. I, like most other people today, wash my hair with additional products, so it's easy to assume that if you don't use them, your hair will be in a very bad state. But, still, AOF hair isn't the only hair mod used by STEP. There's also More Realistic Hair, which is more comprehensive. Does this mod completly overwrite that one? -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17559//? Spun off from this thread, as policy here states that there should be only one mod covered in a thread at a time. Anyway, this mod is a simple immersion booster - what it does is that instead of reading a book instantly, you get prompted if you want to add the book to your inventory, or read it. If you choose to read, you get new animations, and a random amount of time will pass (from 2-4 hours). Haven't tried it yet, but if it works, I feel this is a definite STEP canidate.

SKYRIMLE Sometimes Pick Up Books // RTR - Real Time Reading
WilliamImm replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have to say that RTR is the better option, as it does everything Sometimes Pick Up Books does and adds added immersion by making reading take time. I'll create a thread for the other mod shortly. -
ACCEPTED Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures (by skyrimaguas)
WilliamImm replied to FCqt's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If this were used in a game set in a modern-day setting, with hair salons, then I can see the new retexture fitting. But Skyrim isn't set in modern day Earth, so... they stick out like a sore thumb. You could make a case for higher-class people to use these textures, but for everyone - it doesn't fit. -
Confused about S.T.E.P download
WilliamImm replied to TGiFallen's question in General Skyrim LE Support
As for why not to use Nexus Mod Manger, the killer flaw of it is that it you cannot manage or even view the installation order, and you have to install/uninstall mods in order. Which is a big problem for STEP. -
It is a spinoff guide from STEP, with a mod list tailored more to the author's prefrences for Skyrim, and also providing detailed instructions for seemingly advanced stuff like mod cleaning and patch making. The approach the author took, however, is very attractive (very easy to follow, eases you into modding), and so will be followed in the core STEP guide.

Actually, the core team is still very well active - just behind the scenes, figuring out what to do next. One thing that's going to happen for sure is that Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited will be merged into STEP over time.

DROPPED Borderless Window (by virusek)
WilliamImm replied to rpsgc's question in Other Utilities Support
Never had an issue with it. Only issue that happened was when the game reset to fullscreen mode because of me verifying the game cache (it was fixed when I set it back to windowed mode). -
No issue with it at all for me.
-
Only problem is there are conflicts with Even Better Quest Objectives - specifically, depending on load order, you'll either not get the improved objectives from EBQO, or No Permanent Essentials doesn't work for the quests both mods modify. A compatibility patch may be comming soon.
-
Really more of a pack mod for STEP, since it is technically a major gameplay change.

DROPPED dark brotherhood forever moved to misc (by jman)
WilliamImm replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've just released an update to EBQO with the promised Dark Brotherhood Forever changes. With that, I think we can safely drop this mod. -
It's a wildcard - a convention carried over from *nix. Basically, it means that anything can go in between the symbol. So, you need to disable all files starting with "fieldgrass02".

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
WilliamImm replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
By the way, Neovalen is using the expermential 304 release of Wrye bash. No - run BOSS, and it should automatically tag the affected mods. -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35804/? From the same author as Jeclredured - Spell Tomes comes a retexture of the 13 Standing Stones in Skyrim. Adds more detail, and also color codes the stones based on their patron constellation - Warrior stones get red, Mage stones get blue, and Thief stones get green. Looks quite good - it was love at first sight for Neovalen (who added it to his guide). Any other opinions?
