Well, either would be good until EotW makes the patch (if at all). Think this was implied by my previous posts, but guess not... EDIT: The author of EotW is too busy to make the patch, but he granted permission to anyone who would make it. Now, I'd think I would ask Madcat221 (the Explosive Bolts author) about doing the patch himself (making the same modifications to the EotW textures as he did to the vanilla ones).
-
The bolt texture from Explosive Bolts Visualized is made to go with the special arrow textures also used by that mod (BoltFire.dds, BoltFrost.dds, and BoltShock.dds). Actually, EBV's texture is from the HD bolts optional of that mod. I can go and poke EcthelionOtW about making a compat. patch (texture wise) for both this and Explosive Bolts Visualized.

I've thought of using them, but really hesitated due to it being on a service that really doesn't work for me. I know getting the mods on the Nexus is right out because the author says he won't do it, but I've suggested uploading to TES Alliance, another fairly popular modding site and one I can use comfortably. Don't see a way to contact him outside of adding him as a Steam friend (which likely won't happen since we don't know each other).

SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)

Even through another thread for this mod exists, it was closed anyway due to OT posting. Just so you know. -
SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)
WilliamImm replied to Allsunday's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
...and I just so happened to miss the drama while binge-playing through Mass Effect 2. I'm pretty sure the drama in that game is much better than the one happening with this mod.Speaking of - I reject Prometheus's disingenuous assertions. Sure, he cites a bunch of comments here, but nearly all of them are either a) acknowledged as rude by the STEP moderators or b) not actually insults to the author at all. I especially have no idea how the second quoted comment, or my previous one on him ended up getting read as in insult, when it literally said "He's tough to work with, through I otherwise don't mind him".And the whole "asking for endorsements in the comment thread" is very close to infringing on the Nexus ToS: Although it doesn't say "comment thread", I'd really suggest that it'd be added to the ToS. The community here was justified in reacting the way it did: requesting endorsements for your mod is a strong offense, and I had no idea how the author got past without so much as a formal warning. (EDIT: From the moderators of the Nexus, asking for endorsements is not a formal warning worthy offense, and so this could be considered a overreaction. Still doesn't explain the lynch mob mentality towards the STEP project)Don't use this as an excuse to start a lynch mob - although I am confused and angry at how he (and the surrounding community) misrepresented us, I'd rather not promote that impression further.EDIT: Been trying to post a thread to plug the ToS loophole. Won't submit for some reason, however.EDIT DEUX: That thread is posted now. -

Has anyone reached a consensus on this mod? I've stated my reasoning about why this mod doesn't conflict at all with existing STEP mods above.- 50 replies

GUIDE FNV Guide - Info and Feedback
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I'm seriously wondering if it's worth the effort to use the 4GB loader when I can also just apply the NTCore 4GB/LAA patch to the Fallout NV executable. -
SKYRIMLE No Snow Under the Roof (by Prometheus)
WilliamImm replied to Allsunday's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Prometheus is a legendarily tough author to work with, and he really doesn't think to check his stuff in TES5Edit before release, as evidenced by the dirty edits in his mod. In fact, earlier, I tried to make him aware of the fact that his mods had some cell-record erasing edits (complete with an "Unknown 15" in the header). He was very resistant to change it - I ended up having to add a "may be edited with TESVSnip" message to all the relevant mod records in the BOSS masterlist, and eventually provide fixed versions of the mods to him (with additional explanations). And even then, he didn't merge them into the main files of his mods, firstly using my Dropbox links (which would massively hit my bandwidth there), then he just uploaded them into a explicitly un-NMM/un-MO downloadable file for whatever reason (even through there was none). EDIT AFTER THE WHOLE DRAMA: This was one of the posts cited by Prometheus as "evidence" that STEP was insulting him. He states in this post that this quoted one is defamatory against him because he "never worked with" me, and that he did so many updates to No snow under the roof. And, here's my defense: I did work with Prometheus with fixing some of his earlier mods, and this post wasn't actually talking about No snow under the roof, but about my past experience with the author. Be warned, this it going to be a fairly long story: So, that's the story. It's a accurate retelling of my experience, and I'm justified in saying that the author was "tough to work with", because I did indeed attempt to work with him (though not in a collaboration). -
Well, I seem to be stuck on the default IP Board skin. I'm not sure how I would be able to change it now that the theme picker's disabled.
-
The REGS tag is misspelled ("Real Exporer's Guide to Skyrim" as opposed to "A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim"). SR and SR:LE (Skyrim Revisited and Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition) likely should be on the tag list too, though I'm not sure if SR and LE should just be seperate acronyms.
-
IP Boards has a nice ability to 'disambiguate' the plethora of acronyms that we use at STEP (simply place the cursor over an acronym to see what it translates to in real language). If you DO NOT see the translation on mouse hover, then the acronym is not yet defined. While we have added many of the most common: AFAIK IIRC SRO ... Many are probably still needed, so please post here if there are any that you think should be added or post if there are issues with existing acronym conversions. - STEP WilliamImm Well, only the one - the SMIM acronym currently reads "Skyrim Mesh Improvement Mod (mod)". Not only is the actual name of the mod "Static Mesh Improvement Mod", the (mod) tag is redundant because the acryonym expands to include "mod". Also, EBQO (which I use frequently when referring to Even Better Quest Objectives) and REGS (Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim, also frequently used now) should be listed in the acronym lists.
-
I would really want to keep the 12 hour time format for myself (because that's generally what I'm used to), but allowing you to switch at the user level would be grand.
-
The IP Board forum software actually comes with it's own built-in chat software (limited to 5 users at first, but can be upgradable). I don't think it would take that much effort to activate it - and we (the community) kinda want to use it to brainstorm together.Would setting up the chat system work for the STEP Project?

Quit to desktop before reloading a game?

In any case, even in the era of the Memory Patch, follow the Sierra mantra: save early, save often, and don't overwrite saves. -

I doubt it. If it conflicts with anything, it would just be with Falskaar records that are very unlikely to be modified by any other mods.

It's Saerileth, actually.

Yea, while I normally like using Tapatalk to browse, the signature it automatically puts is annonying. I gotta disable that sometime. Sent from a Ruby script that guarantees the best forum viewing experience either. That I made in 3 minutes. -
How to replace WATER with Realistic Water Two

Looks like the thread was posted twice. I deleted the earlier version of the thread. Anyway, are you looking for a programmer as well? If so, can you tell me what language this game uses? (Likely C++, but who knows for sure)

Latest Skyrim Unofficial Patches and Mod Organizer
WilliamImm replied to Kuldebar's question in Mod Organizer Support
Arthmoor really doesn't trust Mod Organizer. I... I really don't know why, to be honest. Maybe because of a really early version, but I don't know. Unpacking BSAs has no negative effect on the game at all, really. Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk
