Yes, ENBs have to be manually installed.

Yay! I just want to say I love Dunkin Donuts!

Okay... I'll be the "scrooge" in the bunch as the admins often have to be. :) In all honesty, I'm unsure/undecided about the textures. They look great...even amazing, but do they fit in with the rest of the world around them?? I'm not so sure. I seen multiple issues where the textures didn't flow will objects around them; making the objects stand out and look out of place. Point being, they might be too good to flow easily into the Skyrim world. I would most definitely have to run around in-game for a while before making any final remarks about these textures.

Some questions from a 1st-time installer
TechAngel85 replied to Cretgren's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Nope, no need to put any files together. MO takes care of all that for you. :) -
I'm using 12.9 and I still have all the endorsement flags. It's not pulling that info from Nexus for some reason...in fact, when I try to endorse it tells me that it can't log onto Nexus even though I've double and triple-checked my login credentials.

Some questions from a 1st-time installer
TechAngel85 replied to Cretgren's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm not sure on this one. I haven't ran into that myself yet. I'm fairly new to MO myself. MO does not install mods into the game's Data folder. It uses a separate folder in the MO directory that acts as a "virtual" Data folder when the game is ran. This is also why the game must be ran via the launch feature when using MO. This "virtual" Data folder is one of the great things about MO. Yes, just wait until everything is install and then run BOSS via MO. Boss will sort your ESPs to the correct load order automatically so you don't have to maintain the load order yourself. It will also tell you which mods should be cleaned using TES5Edit. -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
TechAngel85 replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thanks for doing that! I've updated the OP with your shots. I'll reopen the poll when I get my shots posted as well (tomorrow), unless someone else beats me to it. This way there will be at least 4 different compares for each mod. As for right now, my evaluation is: Hectrol is nice in some place and "ew" in others for me. I'm still of the opinion that it looks too "carved out" for my liking. If this mod wins out, it will not be included as a Core mod (which the current STEP, Snow and Rocks HD, is Core) because it's too much of a deviation from vanilla in terms of style. However, Beauty of Skyrim is just that...beautiful and is very close to vanilla. Close enough to remain a Core mod if it replaces Snow and Rocks HD. -

That is how things would normally go; however, sometimes when multiple mods do the same thing (like these) it's generally done all together. -
I think that was something that Z was doing for Kelm. He'll have to look at what is going on and fix it. https://wiki.step-project.com/Weapon_%26_Armor_Fixes

Did we forget about Beauty of Skyrim in our compares? Nonetheless, I've updated the OP with your compares and closed the poll. I'll open the poll again whenever we have a full set of compares. -
Nothing will be put in the wiki about Beta versions of any mod or tool because we rarely support Beta versions. Only stable versions are supported to prevent troubleshooting threads like this. DDSopt is one of those rare exceptions.
-
Personally, what I would do is to head on over to Neo's SR Guide and only compare the textures that he includes.
-
Stop using v99 and use the stable version

Phazer is as new as you. :D lol

This release has been done differently than all the others due to the next (2.3) being a major change. Thus, please bare with us as minor changes are made here and there to 2.2.6 because part of these changes are to prepare for the next release. We're trying not to make any major moves on this release and thus saving those types of changes for 2.3.

I second that. I haven't had this installed in quite some time. -

Compares are still needed. Vanilla >> STEP >> Langley

I've found via trail and error that .PNG remains truest to the in-game coloring and quality. They can be a bit big sometimes; however, using imgur this isn't an issue. Also, I sometimes open the file in Photoshop and resave it using "Save for the Web" option. This compresses the image with little to no loss in color and quality. -

Well call my eye trained because I can see some differences in the shots. The last shot is clearly the winning shot. -
I only have a few sections left to install. Unfortunately, I'm working for several days straight so I won't have it finished for a bit couple more days as my time is limited. @michaelrw, Good luck is all I can say. I've only ever used nifskope once and didn't even know you could load textures into it. Haha!

Actually... By doing this we're still undermining our MT process. If you want to continue to do this, I'd rather make you a Mod Tester so you can access to workflow for our MTs in the Mod Testing Forum. This workflow is exactly what you're doing with here. The workflow will be updated regularly so you can go there at any time to see what needs to be tested and what conditions the test requires. If you agree, I'll have Z make you a Mod Tester and you can just focus on the texture mods in the workflow and skip the rest. -

You need to be posting the compares in the appropriate threads or otherwise all the work we've been doing to get the mod testing updated to where it should be will be all for nothing. It's either that or an Admin/Moderate needs to copy/move the compares to the appropriate forum so all can benefit and our MT procedure will be be undermined. I understand it's easier to "do it all in one place" but that isn't how we've planed the MT process. We need records on the actual threads for when they are "accepted" or not. EDIT: Just read Z's post above. Thanks for picking up on this Z. I don't have time to be searching this thread and moving posts around. :)
