  1. Nice rig! I'm planning on building two over the next year. One will by my HTPC running linux (maybe Windows 8) and XBMC. It will have at least a 1T hard drive to house all my movies and music and will be able to do some light gaming via emulators...Mario Brothers anyone? :D The second will be my gaming PC for all my gaming needs. Currently I'm using an Asus G7 laptop and it's treating my very well; however, I would like to have a rig that can handle most games on high/ultra settings.
  2. The only page I would say don't work on is the Mod Testing Guide. I'm currently putting that through an overhaul, myself. All else is fair game if you have the knowledge to expand and update the content.
  3. Haha! Good. I haven't actually gotten to play Skyrim since about November of last year. I think that's about the same for most of the team. lol
  4. The author should put in a MCM option for the umbrellas.
  5. Yeah, I got the same thing so either the instructions are wrong or the installer isn't accurate (I used the Wizard in WB and always delete the Fomod directory will I repackage my mods). One of these two things needs to be fixed because all I was doing was following the instructions too. I simply left those to ESPs unactivated. @WilliamImm, Can you update the instructions on the wiki page to be more clear on this matter as I'm sure the mod isn't the issue?
  6. I'm still against this mod. The retexture is too white to the point it no longer looks like metal.
  7. SMIM's newest version includes high res replacement for this texture as well. Will need comparisons between the two. This one looks a bit too blue in the nexus shots though.
  8. We have to get into the mentality that Core is/will be extremely restricted. Fixes and necessary improvements only. All else should be in the Pack and not Core. Core is bare-bones, minimal. This mod is strictly preference. It doesn't fix anything. It doesn't correct an oversight in development. This is no reason to have this installed if you're just "fixing" the game; therefore, it's straight Pack material.
  9. There's nothing wrong with vanilla. This is just a preference mod and this not for Core. At any rate, we probably shouldn't be discussing Core in the public forums when we haven't even made any announcements. First announcement should probably be after the 1st when Core voting is finalized. At least that is what you guys said when I wanted make an announcement a while back.
  10. CoT and RLO are already packaged with their own color corrects with minimal impact. Only low-end users should see any impact from those two mods.
  11. hahaha! That lil conversation just cracked me up!And yet, everyone completly ignored the thread I made earlier for Caves & Mines, so I had to mention it here.Well... we are the Release Coordinators now.
  12. hahaha! That lil conversation just cracked me up!
  13. This might be good for vanilla, but from looking at the CoT/RLO shots above, you shouldn't use it with them. The RLO team has put in a lot of hours into researching and correcting the colors for realism from the light sources and such. These tweaks skew the work that the RLO team has done and not for the better from what I can see.
  14. I honestly can't tell the difference between the pure vanilla and the vanilla with ini tweak... a softer shadow outline is all.
  15. If that is the case, then I second that.
  16. Are you running pure STEP or do you have extra mods installed? How do you know it's conflicting with the Unofficial Patches?
  17. No kidding, I am really enjoying these forums. Lots of cool and knowledgable people to talk with. :) We have quite a few authors here on the STEP forums and I agree. It's always nice to have the authors present when we're testing their mods, etc.
  18. As long as it looks good and in a vanilla style, then it's all good. Not at the moment, but sometime next month (most likely) the staff will be going through and gathering some mods up for testing for 2.3
  19. No I know 2.2.6 is released. I meant like will there be bi-weekly updates like a 2.2.6a or a 2.2.7 if we decide to remove/add a few mods here or there? If anything is done in that regard, it will be done to 2.2.6. However, additions will be held off until 2.3. Removals may still take place as two mods have already been removed from 2.2.6 (Categorized Favorites Menu and CFM Oni-Edition). These changes will be recorded in the changelog which can be found on the OP. If a change takes place, a post stating the change will also be posted here.
  20. To be considered for STEP, we prefer direct replacements that are in the style and vision of vanilla. This means if vanilla is green, keep it green. No purple ivy, if there are dead leaves in vanilla then keep the dead leaves, etc. It also means painted textures like vanilla textures are and not real life photos (because these usually look out of place in the game). As for them being "flat", I have no idea what Farlo was talking about there. As long as a vanilla friendly version is available, then there's a good chance it'll end up in testing.
  21. Fixed. Please disregard the bi-weekly schedule for the next release (2.3). It will be a major overhaul and thus, will not be following the normal release schedule. The release schedule will be revised once 2.3 is released.
  22. Jealous... :ox:
  23. No. There is no deadline for the 2.3 release as it's still very much in it's infant state. The bi-weekly release will not apply to 2.3 as it's a major release with major changes taking place (such as packs and other things that I can't discuss or I'll be killed. ) We're actually working on a solution to better utilize you Mod Testers and to officially bring the Mod Testers into the fold rather than just wondering about, being at a loss of what to do. :D Stay tuned!
  24. Exactly. I don't think that there is anything MO does that WB cannot do (it is the other way around, really). MO just has a 'friendlier' user interface. Can I do Skyrim Revisited with Mod Organizer, or is that guide specifically tailored for MO? Some of its instructions are geared towards MO; however, they should be achievable via WB. One of the main reasons for choosing MO over WB for SR is due to the virtualization of the Data folder. MO doesn't touch the Data folding in Skyrim and instead creates a "virtual" one that it uses. (If I understand it correctly.) This is how MO allows multiple "profiles" with each profile able to contain different mod setups. This is great for easily switching between different mod setup for different characters and whatnot. It also makes switching back to a 100% vanilla state a breeze. With that said, I still use WB.
