Sure you can. Just install it in the order that it is found in the mod tables. I install the above before any STEP mods are installed.

SKYRIMLE ABT - Arrows and Bolts Tweaks by Kevkas
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The mod (i think) was originally in STEP a long time ago. I've had it installed in my personal play-through since day one. One of the INI tweaks (distance arrows fly) in STEP is from this mod actually. My personal choices are: 50% Faster Arrows and Bolts, Increased Bolt Damage +50%, Increased Progressive Damage +50%, Loot Arrows +100% (this allows you to recover the majority of your arrows from bodies which to me is realistic) Each of these are a separate ESP (5 in total); however, Bash Patch merges at least one or two of them if I remember correctly. -
This is the general order that I proposed. No one said it was wrong so I'm guessing it's the right order.

I might just have to redownload the 2k version. Files from Nexus get corrupted from time to time during the download.

STEP/Skyrim Revisited newbie questions
TechAngel85 replied to youtoo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You can use Wyre Bash or Mod Organizer. These are needed for mainly how they handle installation order and recovery which Nexus Mod Manager can not do at this time. Using NMM you'll eventually end up with a corrupted installation and mismatched ordering of the installed mods. Mods are installed in a specific order. WB and MO maintains this order and the mod resources, even when you uninstall a mod. For example, you install ModA and ModB after it in WB. ModB overwrites files in ModA. WB will see these as conflicts but it's intended. Now you decided to uninstall ModB. WB will extract the overwritten resources from ModA and reinstall them in the uninstall process for ModB. This ensures the resources from ModA are maintained. NMM does not do this; therefore, if using NMM your resources from ModA which were overwritten will simply be missing from your STEP installation. This is the main benefit and reason for using WB or MO. As STEP changes and updates, mods are added and removed. Without the proper mod manager (WB or MO) you'd have to reinstall STEP from scratch every single update. Yes, but not in WB. You'll have to use Mod Organizer instead and set up "profiles". Each profile can contain a separate set of mods installed for that profile. Using these profiles you could have a STEP installation and a Skyrim: Revisited installation at one time and switch back and forth at any time you wish. -
The only thing you'll have to do is to make sure you obtain the appropriate version of the mods for the DLCs you have. Some mods have DLC specific versions to maintain compatibility with those DLCs. At most it mean simply having to update a few mods to compatible versions here and there.

DROPPED Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized (by Vano89)
TechAngel85 replied to Farlo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
And lots of modder extract the BSAs. I am in my current installation and since MO makes this an option on mod installation, I predict more and more will be doing so too. -
No need. There is a huge "notice" across the top of the changelog stating that changes to the live guide can occur at any time between releases. These small things between releases don't warrant another release. Just a quick heads up from time to time that a few small changes have taken place. Some of these changes are in preparation to to 2.3. One you might notice is the mods marked as "core" has changed.

Two things that needs to be added to the guide: This what where discussing now could be defined better and made more clear. (BSA vs Loose and what needs to be done)The installation order of the created archives by following the recommendations. (I'm not even positive that mine is right but I think it is)So if you followed the recommendation and optimized the normals for performance the installation order for optimized texture and normal archives should be like this I'm assuming: Skyrim - Textures (mine is named Vanilla Optimized)Skyrim - Textures Normals (mine is named Vanilla Optimized Normals)Dawnguard TexturesDawnguard Optimized NormalsHearthfire TexturesHearthfire Optimized NormalsDragonborn TexturesDragonborn Optimized NormalsHRDLC 1 TexturesHRDLC 1 Optimized NormalsHRDLC 2 TexturesHRDLC 2 Optimized NormalsHRDLC 3 TexturesHRDLC 3 Optimized Normals

Yes, you should...and I did.

DROPPED Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized (by Vano89)
TechAngel85 replied to Farlo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I updated the OP. Honestly I don't know enough about the conflicts here to make an informed decision on your suggestions. I'll let the others chime in. -
Aside from my view that having the conflict list handily available without bringing focus onto a context menu is a huge plus ... Does it give you the installation order slot number of the conflicting mods too? Does it allow you to toggle active/inactive conflicts? Overrides?, Missing? Mismatches? ... I could go on ;) It does not give you the slot number, just the name of the mod that is conflicting. I does tell the number of non-conflicted files and also lists the active and inactive, but not separately. No on overrides, missing, and mismatches. These are all great features suggestions for the author. One feature it has which WB doesn't is it tells you if a mod is "redundant"; meaning every file within that mod is replaced by a file with higher priority. Currently my optimized Skyrim - Textures.bsa (saved as archived loose files) is listed as redundant so I know in certain profiles I can skip loading it.
-
Again... MO can see the conflicts inside of BSAs as far as I know. It also asks you if you want to unpack the BSA when you install it so you don't have to mess with it yourself.
-
It lists any conflicts from the mods just like WB does. It's just not on the front pane besides an icon telling you that conflicts exists. Right-click on the mod, click Information, and click on Conflicts. Tells you how many from the current mod, how many from other mods, and lists them all just like WB. Another feature would be the ability to install a mod from a loose directory instead of only from an archive. This would have halved the time it's taking me to do this switch.

Problem with Skyrim Mod Organizer and BOSS
TechAngel85 replied to perkymcgiggles's question in Mod Organizer Support
Nope. No settings were changed. Only difference I see is that I use BOSS GUI.exe and you're using BOSS.exe. Actually that IS your issue. I just tested it. If you run BOSS GUI.exe outside of MO, it will not pick up any of your mods installed through MO because MO uses this separate location as a "virtual" Data folder. You simply need to run BOSS GUI.exe in MO instead of BOSS.exe to view the report with your installed mods. Report back if this fixes the issue or not. -
STEP/Skyrim Revisited newbie questions
TechAngel85 replied to youtoo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
As I've already stated twice, you can NOT use Nexus Mod Manager with STEP or SR. There's a reason it's not listed under the approved utilities on the STEP Guide and there's a reason Neovalen tells you to use Mod Organizer in the SR Guide. Uninstall Nexus Mod Manager and forget it even exists. If you want the download and update abilities of it, use Mod Organizer. No. It can merge some mods into one and some it can't. It also does other things. Mod conflicts that aren't intentional are corrected using TES5Edit. If you're really reading the WB readme, it explains all of this. The readme is found on the WB Nexus page. You didn't correctly change the bash.ini files and if they are pointed in the right locations and are correct then you might have to uninstall WB and reinstall. There are no Patches in STEP...you much be talking about SR. Post this question in the SR Forums. No, cleaning is referring to removing Identical To Master (ITMs) records and UDRs. These are redundent records which are also found in the Master files at a higher level. Cleaning (removing) these records creates better stability. Answered this above. Redundant question... BOSS is the tool used to know most of which mods need cleaning. SR goes beyond BOSS in some cases because Neovalen has examined the mods himself. You load the ESP of the mod and it's masters into TES5Edit to clean it. -
DDSopt - missing Menu Options in "Behave"
TechAngel85 replied to Altaya's question in DDSopt Support
That is correct. The guide is written for the Beta release and the only place that is mentioned is in the INI page that is linked. Please don't forget to grab the updated INI from the link or you'll most likely be back here complaining about textures that are messed up. lol. -
ACCEPTED Re-Defined Dungeons WIP (by Gizmo)
TechAngel85 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If you want to do the work that is okay by me. As long as it's as I stated above for textures. Vanilla >> What mod STEP currently uses >> new mod being being tested Shots for each setup should be of the exact same scene and shots should be a mix of close range and mid range so that the surrounding textures are captured as well. -
Nice work and congrats!

ACCEPTED Re-Defined Dungeons WIP (by Gizmo)
TechAngel85 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
We have two active testers for the moment. Wormheart and Michaelrw. I'll also being helping to test here and there; however, michaelrw and myself are both in the process of switching to MO. MO is a superior product for testing purposes. So, wormheart might be able to do it; however, I don't know if he's using the right setup for testing. In MO you should have these profiles: Vanilla/Vanilla Optimized (this can include all the DLCs and HRDLCs as optimized or unoptimized)(mine have been optimized using DDSopt)STEP Core (only mods marked are active)STEP Extended (all of STEP mods are active)XYZ Profile (any personal profile and setup you want for playing the game which includes any non-STEP mods...this is for personal use and not for testing)For textures, comparisons should be taken from Vanilla, STEP Extended, and STEP Extended+Mod being tested. This way a pure testing comparison can be made with extra mods enabled that could skew the results. -
