ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
TechAngel85 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hey, JawZ! Is there a RS compatibility patch for Lanters of Skyrim? I thought there was at one point or mention of it. The reason I ask is because the lighting from LoS seems off: LoS seems to have a warmer, more yellow glow. Load order for these mods: Lanterns of Skyrim - All in One - Main.esm RelightingSkyrim_Legendary.esp ELE_Legardary_Lite.esp (IL only) STEP Extended Patch.esp Also, this is what I'm seeing around 6:50am: -
Unofficial skyrim patch problem (MO)
TechAngel85 replied to ediogracie's question in Mod Organizer Support
Is there a reason you're still running v1.2.18? A lot of work, fixes, and improvements have happened with the other releases. Current MO version is v1.3.8. I'd be interested if updating MO solves your issue. -

It doesn't do that anymore. Use LOOT if you want the popup and more control. -
Unofficial skyrim patch problem (MO)
TechAngel85 replied to ediogracie's question in Mod Organizer Support
Are you on windows xp? -
No, it has other issues. I use it in my own personal setup, but there are some neck seams here and there. I can look past those most of the time. Fixed meshes would be a good step in the right direction, though. As for FO4, they've been working on it for years so it's not going to be DX12. Most likely it'll be DX10, DX11 if we are lucky.

Windows 10 - Overall Review and Modding
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Banter Inn
You misunderstood me. They've been talking about the "Metro" interface (Start Screen) and how it was the default thing in Windows 8. For Windows 10, the desktop is now the default for all PCs. I'm assuming when you install Windows 10 on a table or phone, the default will be the "Metro" style Start Screen. Windows 10, in my short time of using it, was not bad at all. -

ACCEPTED Not So Fast - Main Quest (by cdcooley)
TechAngel85 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have been using this in my new play-through which I started today. I have to say that I like it so far. It pauses the main quest and really allows you to level and gear up before continuing the main story line. This pause better prepares you for what lays ahead in the quests. I've found myself visiting the Inns as well as talking to NPCs to pick up side jobs as I wait for the story line to advance. This mainly involves clearing out bandits and doing some funny side quests. You can also pursue the Champion side quest while you wait, if you so choose. At night I find myself renting a room in a Inn, enjoying an ale and a song and then sleeping to continue my journey in the morning. Lastly, this has allowed me to save up about 2/3rds of the coin I need to purchase Breezehome, which is always the first home I buy since its central location is ideal for the beginning of the game. All in all, I would say this has added immersion for me in the game as you are not rapidly running through the first part of the game. -

Re-analyzing the STEP version/updating system
TechAngel85 replied to Proton's question in Wiki Support
The "live" Guide is just that. Live. Meaning changes can happen to it at any time. This is because we may have to make updates to keep the Guide current and working. New releases usually only contain new or removed content. Then to keep that content current until the next release, we have to make "live" updates. This is no different than Microsoft or other software providers providing updates with actually changing the version of the software. It's a fairly common. When you update Windows, you will have the same version...just updated because a few bugs or holes needed to be fixed while the next version is being worked on. -

Question regarding 2.B. Clean the Update ESM
TechAngel85 replied to TheOne320's question in General Skyrim LE Support
In that case, you simply need to adjust the directions just a bit to install the cleaned version into MO. -
This has been what I've been grasping at so we're on the same page, however, if this is going to be possible to do within a wiki...I have no idea. I tend to code my pages as I would normally and then go have and fight the wiki coding to try to make it do what I feel it should be doing.

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
TechAngel85 replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
It's in the manual and GamerPoets has a very nice video tutorial on how to properly update. -
Granted this is a wiki and not a normal HTML website so I don't know what is all possible. Wiki coding consistently frustrates me. Give me a normal website any day over wiki! ::

This...I don't understand. I get this for guides like ENB, INIs, MO, xEdit, etc. However, it's a very common practice to have a "theme" for guides/pages that cover a different subject entirely. Go and https://www.bethsoft.com/ and click on Games. Click through the different games. You'll notice the main elements of the site stay consistent, however, font colors, background images, headings, etc all change according to the game that is selected. This same behavior is seen on Steam, Nexus, Origin, game developer websites, etc etc. There's no reason from my point of view that the custom guides can't have a customer theme in relation to some of the elements on the page (fighting for the users here). These guides have nothing to do with STEP besides us providing the space for them to be hosted and a forum thread. Those aren't any reasons to lock custom guides into the rest of the site's theme other than maintenance...and even then we're not the ones maintaining those Guides so that shouldn't be a problem. We simply have to set up the initial tools and then let them be used...which DY seems to have a knack for doing.

I'm of the same opinion. A few things users might want to customize: TagsFont ColorsBorder/Line ColorsHeaders...

DROPPED STEP Texture Compilation (by TechAngel85 and the STEP Team)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
1) That was my bad. I've updated the OP with the ReadMe file. 2) It contains the necessary billboards for DynDOLOD. 3) Delete old files because they are no longer necessary or "good" files for the current Guide. We do not maintain old Guides or old files for those Guides. This also keeps our Nexus files clean and organized better. -
