  1. That was the main way I got rid of "most" of my shadow striping issues (fShadowBiasScale = 1).
  2. The notes for the mod in the guide state "STEP recommends only the Hearthfire Edition Cleaned optional file." So you ONLY want to download and install that one downloadable file.
  3. Hackers are always a step ahead of technology security. Like DoubleYou says, Windows 10 and the issue of forced updates are big enough that it's guaranteed to get hacked.
  4. LOL - What the hell? Never seen anything like that. Thanks for the laugh. :D
  5. As far as I can tell, this worked. These instructions mention removing the FormID reference, but in this case there wasn't a FormID List record that had to be removed. As opposed to SRB's instructions for removing the weapon caches for the additional weapons merging instructions, I could not find any "Error: Could not be resolved" lines of data to remove.
  6. I suggested this a LONG time ago - people just ignored me.
  7. Though remember that lots of people add mods that randomly can spawn dragons - Deadly Dragons or Dragon Combat Overhaul. Might that have an affect?
  8. Personally, I always make sure to load MO with Admin Privileges. But beware that before you try that to go and save your mod order list and plugin order list because I have had it reset them when switching between regular non-admin user running MO to admin user running MO. That's what I do... Don't know if it's a good thing, but it works for me.
  9. I heard that it typically has something to do with allowing dragons to fly high enough to not clip through objects, like buildings... That's all I know about that.
  10. I just went back many pages to page 135 of this forum thread, because I remember a number of things brought up about the guide that I don't remember being implemented. I'm bringing them up again in case they were lost and forgotten. I'm sure there's much more, but I grabbed just a few.
  11. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I was being kind when I said only 5 FPS... I think it was worse than that. :) The issues you have had with NS - were those due to the storms or were they other problems? It seemed that once I disable the 3 types of storms that it isn't bad. There are a few reasons I am worried about shifting to an ENB. For one, I know in Skyrim that I do not like the FPS drops when using ENBs. For another, you like me experience "ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true" issues - can ENB run effectively without that? For another another, would an ENB properly darken the scenery outside without NS or RWL installed compared to the darkening done by having Interior Lighting Overhaul installed?
  12. Anyone have any feedback on using this mod with combat mods, such as Duel - Combat Realism or Combat Evolved? I know the author says combat mods are "compatible", but all those mods do affect combat behavior... and at least in the case of Duel and CE, there are an amount of conflicting records that go to the highest mod in the load order. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback about how well those mods actually jive with each other - more effective together... less effective, etc?
  13. Anyone know why NS (with storms disabled) gets much better FPS than RWL? In a lot of places FPS with RWL installed is actually about 5 FPS lower than NS in the same spot of the game - visibly jarring. I hear a big "plus" to RWL is that FPS is supposed to be better. On the mod's Nexus page, it even sounds like the FPS of the mod is supposed to be better than vanilla weather. In my experience, this is not the case...
  14. OK, I didn't see that part as you edited your post after I posted my response. Did you install this version of FNV4GB? : https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55061/ Did you properly install NVSE? Did you heed the instructions of FNV4GB? (quoted from FNV4GB's Nexus webpage) : "First, make sure you have launched the game with the default launcher AT LEAST ONCE after setting up your graphics options or the program will NOT function properly."
  15. Make sure that the executable for it within MO has all of the proper information entered. Make sure the "Binary" for it points to the correct directory and .exe file (wherever you placed the fnv4gb.exe file). Also, make sure the "Arguments" says "-laaexe .\FalloutMO.exe".
  16. No, because when you run the merge plugin it asks you which of the loaded esps/esms you would like to include in the merge. You make sure that you only select the esps you want to merge and don't select the DLC esms. From what I remember, it tells you in the guide which ones you want to have selected.
  17. FPS reasons, and also because I felt the storms didn't make any sense. Rain in a desert? Radiation storms that only affect the player? Major sandstorms in the wrong type of desert that leave no indication in the scenery that they occur? The storms didn't fit the game. I won't use ENB for FPS/stutter reasons.
  18. EssArrBee addressed this just a few posts above... That's all you need to do to remove No NPC Greetings from a STEP Patch.
  19. Regarding Realistic Wasteland Lighting (RWL) versus Nevada Skies (NS)... I just uninstalled NS and installed RWL. I noticed that textures of various objects looked incredibly washed out - way too washed out. I also noticed that my FPS tanked lower than NS, by at least 5 FPS in certain spots. Now I didn't re-run FNVLODGen after installing RWL, but would that even be necessary? I redid LOOT, bashed patch, and started a new game just to be sure. Dust devils don't look good, yucca trees practically glow, look at the face of Doc Mitchel's house for example of a WAY-too-washed out surface, colors of various textures do not sync well and a lot of things look overly bright/washed out, while some other objects don't look so washed out and look more colorful. It just did not look good in my eyes. What made matters worse was the fact that the FPS was worse than NS with storms disabled. Unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'm going to stick with NS and just use the thermo-graph thingy to disable storms, because it looks and runs much better from what I've seen.
  20. I think that's part of the NVIDIA GeForce Experience - Shadowplay function.
  21. That may have been one of the things I tried. Glad to hear that someone thought of that answer.
  22. ENBoost definitely improved the performance in my setup, for Skyrim. I have 4 GB VRAM on my video card too, which is a decent amount. I do go above baseline STEP though and use 2k textures mostly.
  23. The problem is that I tried like 3 different things all at once to solve my problem and so I don't know which of them fixed the problem, nor do I remember the other things I tried. :/
