  1. Vanilla > Fallout 4 HD Overhaul > All Weapons HD
  2. Dropping this from testing then.
  3. I don't think there are any issues with using ELFX Shadows. You don't want to install all those extra mods with it, however, as is noted on the mod description. We simply use a different lighting setup for the Step guide.
  4. Vanilla Fallout 4 HD Overhaul Fallout 4 HD Overhaul + High Resolution Texture Pack + Jesters Better Destroyed Vehicles + Langleys HD Textures Workshop (modified) + FlaconOil's Complete Retexture Project
  5. After some testing, I am advising to delete the following folders: materials textures\architecture\buildings This gets rid of most of the offending textures while retaining most of the nice ones.
  6. We are not using a full ELFX install, therefore the usual rules for ELFX do not apply.
  7. Please delete whatever SSE Engine fixes you have, redownload and install according to these instructions even if you think you installed it correctly, as it clearly is not working. You may have a corrupt download, among other possibilities.
  8. I think I'm going to have to use this for the Fallout 4 guide. Through my research, I've found that this is the best mod for Fallout 4 ba2 archive extraction and repacking support that has a good GUI. For Fallout 4, you have a lot of mods that use the BA2 archives for textures because they're actually optimized to improve performance because the BA2 serves the mipmaps for textures differently, while also speeding up loading times.
  9. The guide isn't made with parallax support in mind. There are several mods which you will need to deviate instructions in order to support parallax. Better Dynamic Snow, for instance, would need to be downgraded to version 2.11.0. There may be other issues as well. What I'd recommend is install the mod twice, once with and without parallax support, and rename the one with parallax support to have (Parallax) at the end of the name. Then only enable the non-parallax version while finishing up the guide, and once you have the guide complete, if you want to add parallax, copy the profile, and switch all the stuff over to the parallax version.
  10. Added compares. Sorry for the slight zoom in on the Langely compares. I bumped the FOV slider accidentally. As I expected, there are a bunch of stuff he has that I like, and bunch I dislike. He deviates very far from vanilla in some cases, changing colors especially. What I really don't like is the prominence of his red bricks! Vanilla is very diverse with the colors of bricks, but his are just red, red, and off-red. Since it's loose files, we could do some hiding of files. However, I feel this may be more effort than it is worth. However, it may be possible that downstream mods can overwrite and fix this, so I'll keep it for now.
  11. I forgot to keep the save, but here is Langley's version. I think this is my current favorite.

  13. It is merely an option in the FOMOD. There is no corresponding mod that needs to be installed.
  14. I believe it's disabled until you post more. Otherwise it would be there.
  15. It is completely safe to go above 60 fps if you use SSE Display Tweaks.
  16. The compares show that this mod changes some clutter items mostly, signage and similar. There are other textures not shown. All of these appear to be of high quality and fit fine with our base.

  18. I am aware of them. It's going to take lots of compares to compare everything. You'll see lots of compares to find what the best ones are. I just believe it's good to use this as the base since it modifies all the textures already for higher fidelity. We can pile others, such as those, on top as we find preference.
  19. Your vanilla shot is messed up. I decided to take a closer look. Vanilla > Fallout 4 HD Overhaul >Jesters Better Wooden Bridges Fixed Normals I think I'll wait to see if we find something better. Not really satisfied fully with any of these. ATM, I think I prefer Fallout 4 HD Overhaul.
  20. Yes, there are a few things here and there that I feel could be different, but will likely be able to be fixed via other mods. Feel free to suggest any you find.
  21. Done.
  22. Vanilla --> Fallout 4 HD Overhaul --> Fallout 4 HD Overhaul + Jesters Better Destroyed Vehicles This mod is a definite improvement. It adds some more rust details to most vehicles. It is packaged as loose files.
  23. From the compares, a few conclusions can be made: This mod overall is a texture performance optimization for those with lower VRAM. The main benefit can be seen in generally lower VRAM consumption, which will provide better performance on slower systems. The main thing to compare is this mod against vanilla. From this, the main theme you can make out is the lowering of the normal map resolution, which makes some textures more blurry than vanilla. It is not very noticeable, but it is there. In all cases, the vanilla version will look slightly better. Fallout 4 HD Overhaul provides higher fidelity versions, at the expense of higher VRAM usage. It doesn't make sense to combine these two mods, as all you will be doing is reverting textures back to vanilla.
