I have no idea if they kill framerate. These kind of things are not all black and white, where one mod kills framerate and another doesn't. It's more about how many of them you add in. Once you go over your system's abilities, then you start killing your framerate.

Actually, you would be wrong about that. Improper AI will cause BSAs to overwrite loose files, so the vanilla files would overwrite the mod's loose files. @NomenNescio Try this: Click the wrench button, go to the Workarounds tab, and click Back-date BSAs. Now see if that fixes the issue. -
It is unnecessary unless installing mods that add higher resolution tint maps, and those mods should tell you to put in that ini tweak.

Yes. I'm pretty sure I listed them all on the Bashed Patch page so that users could simply go back at that point and do them. -
The biggest problem with a torrent of the files would be they would become out of date before they could sufficiently seed. You would have to use technology such as Bittorrent Sync in order to make it practical. I for one believe it would be entirely possible to create a MO plugin that would act as a "smart installer" of packs. If we could develop it so that it could query a STEP pack page for the files required and all file manipulations, all you would then need would be a checklist to download each mod required to finish the pack. That way we would not need to maintain an installer. Instead, maintaining the pack would maintain the installer. But that all sounds like a lot of work.

But Steam shouldn't see the Mod Organizer INI files, so I doubt there would be any reason to do those. -
I know how to do the patches easy enough. I just haven't figured out GitHub yet...

Backing up mods (Mod Organizer)

Just copy the ModOrganizer folder to the new drive. For Skyrim: 1. Copy Skyrim to the drive 2. Download and install Steam 3. Move your Skyrim directory to Steam/steamapps/common 4. Install Skyrim through Steam. Steam will see the Skyrim files and not download them, merely verifying that all the files are there. -

You'd have to alter the registry key each time you switched between the two skyrim installations. It's pointless to have it installed on two separate locations. -

skse.ini is for skse, not for the game; therefore, the ini tweaks thing won't work, since it is for the game only.

Generally I find that if the individual does everything on this list, eventually it will work: Click the globe button.Go to the Nexus tab in Settings and click the Associate with "Download with manager" links button.Go to your ModOrganizer directory and run the nxmhandler application. If the program is pointing to Mod Organizer, click the Register Active button, click yes at the prompt, and close. If the program is not pointing to Mod Organizer, right-click in the window and select Add, select the game you are handling, browse to the appropriate ModOrganizer.exe application, click OK, click the Register Active button, click yes at the prompt, and close.If you are using Google Chrome:Locate the "Local State" file (enter %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ in the Windows Explorer address bar). Open the file in a text editor such as Notepad while Google Chrome is closed. Search for "nxm" (Click Ctrl+F and enter nxm). Delete the line that says "nxm": false (if true, still delete the line). That is exactly what that guide I linked is intended for, it just has never been populated with information. Your goals are synonymous with the Wiki Editing section, so everything you are saying could go under that section. From the form, I was going about it from more of a technical aspect in my mind, but probably a more use-driven form is more appropriate, like what I see on your page.

Our meta rules are necessary. PerMa is giving basic suggestions, mostly because not everyone is using the same methodology for sorting plugins as of late. In reality, a load order can be perfectly fine with the "mods at weird places." Since LOOT has looked into PerMa from the sounds, you should be generally safe following it + our rules, except, perhaps, the STEP Patches. The only real way of knowing for sure is to look it up in TES5Edit. The example of BetterQuestObjectives and aMidianBornContentAddon is definitely a necessary rule, which I personally researched myself.
