"Error Corrections - CTD" is part of the "Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch". so we don't need to add it separately.

MTC Wasteland Travellers V2 seems interesting; the biggest concern is thieves. There are a lot of posts about how annoying they are with this mod since when they steal from you, you can't attack the thieves without having the locals consider you the bad guy and attack you.

Freso from the LOOT team has started to add the mod data I sent to him to add to the LOOT Fallout 3 masterlist. You will start seeing a lot of new mod cleaning and Bash Tag data, and some mod order suggestions, for the mods in the guide when you are sorting with LOOT

I've been testing MMM with the mods in this guide to see how it works. I am creating a bashed patch that is currently using the bash tags in LOOT in the August 28 masterlist. I have provided a large set of bash tag data/updates for Fallout 3 mods, including MMM and some of the Blackened compatibility patches. The MMM creator is part of the Blackened patch team and these patches are quite recent, so when MMM used they are the preferred compatibility patches. I also sent the LOOT team some additional bash tags for MMM and the Blackened patches. I have not seen any body/clothing/armor problems so far. The enemy NPCs have a varied set of weapon types. I haven't looked carefully yet at the leveled lists that affect what armor/weapons these NPCs get, but I do see in FO3Edit that the compatibility patches includes such data.

You'll start seeing more cleaning data and more bash tags for the mods in the Fallout 3 guide as the LOOT masterlist adds these updates to include more of what I provided.

I'm having an issue with "fose" not installed or needs to be updated. when running the game with wrye flash. I just get constant error window. bet fose is in and the check box for fose enabled is checked.

It's ok when I run the game with fose loader.

This happens when I create a new fo3edit patch after installing more mods.

Hey Kelmych, your guide incorrectly says to clean all the DLC at once, and should be corrected.

I cleaned all my DLC at once too... is doing so known to cause problems? I got exactly the same ITMs on each DLC module as listed. Will re-download from steam & do individually if required though!

I remember I had strange issues like clipping into the ground or falling under scenery in Megaton when I had first cleaned all the official DLCs at once and undeleting deleted records first and then removing identical to master records(and with just the UI section completed at that time, so this could not be caused by a mod or something).

So maybe yes it might be crucial how you handle the cleaning of the official DLC's.

Hi all, this is my first post here, I want to try to provide constructive feedback or points for discussion.

I found this guide on a link from the nexus while looking for a workaround for mod organizer and the Unified HUD Project. I have to say it's a great guide so far and thanks to the author for putting the work into it. This is exactly what I have been looking for when I started looking to mod fallout 3 again recently. I already knew quite a lot of what is covered but I'm far from knowing everything and have learnt tonnes reading it and installing mods so far. I'm up to 15 People and Mutants so far in my installation with mod manager. I have not installed everything so far as the further I get into it the more I find some of the choices are personal preference based, but this is something I love about a modded game: A personalized setup and experience.

Below is just a list of possible suggestions to the guide for consideration. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Mod Cleaning: Bold & in Light Salmon Text:

Rivet City Realignment

Fallout Interoperability Program - FOIP

Can not Fully Clean with normal FO3Edit:

Existence 2_0 - Robot Radio

Mod Additions:

Fallout 3 Radio Stutter Fix*

Clean - Deluxe GOTY

Fallout 3 Interface Color Changer

Fallout 3 DLC Item Descriptions

Personal Achievements Log

Mod Alternatives For:

Smaller Crosshair → Vaultech Crosshair (Cross)

Realistic Interior Lighting → Darkened Interiors

Minor Typos / Revisions:

After Books Debunked there is some text about a redundant mod that was removed from the guide

Mod Install Instructions:

Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow v2 Hotfix:

Surgestion: Move “Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.esp†to Optional ESPs

Reasoning: From “Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Rain ReadMeâ€:

"Please note that the Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow in Fallout.ESP is NOT required and should NOT be used with Dynamic Weather!"

If they are used together can they really get along without conflicts/redundancy?

Possible Redundancies:

Included in/ redundant with: Enhanced Weather - Rain and Snow v2:

-Enhanced Night Sky

-krzymar HI-RES Moon

-krzymar Moon Size Tweak

Unless wanting ultra high texture sizes I'm going to let NMCs_Texture_Pack_for_FO3 cover these:

-Citadel Retextured

-UHQ Terrain Overhaul

-Hi-Res Vault Door Panels

Fallout 3 Radio Stutter Fix*

(This fix worked for me):

This first download is a small utility which will display a list of installed codec on your machine. It doesn't need to be installed, just run it from your desktop.

Website: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html

Direct link: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installedcodec.zip

You'll want to grab this utility and save it for later.

Next, download MadFilter 1.0.0.3

https://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=181633

To install MADFilter:
Ignore both .bat files
On x64 systems copy/paste MADFilter.ax to WindowsSysWOW64 (worked for Win7 SP1 x64) example: 'C:WindowsSysWOW64'
On x86 systems I assume copy/paste MADFilter.ax to WindowsSystem32 (untested) example: 'C:WindowsSystem32'
Open cmd as admin (start -> type 'cmd' then right click and run as administrator)
Change directory to 'WindowsSysWOW64' (or System32) with the 'CD' command, example: 'CD C:WindowsSysWOW64'
Type 'regsvr32 MADFilter.ax' into cmd and enter.

Next use the Installed codec utility to verify it is installed. It will be named MAD Transform Filter. Then find and select your "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec" in the utility, then right click and choose "Disable Selected Items"

Source Link. NOTE: I also installed the 'K-Lite Codec Pack Basic' I'm unsure as to whether this is optional or not.

Similar but slightly different Alternative solution, I didn't try this one as the first solution worked for me.

eliminated from indicators. Last week I posted an issue on the LOOT page to eliminate the intense reports about mods that couldn't be cleaned.

I also changed the indicator color. I'm ...umm ...not a huge fan of salmon but I did change it to yellow which stands out better against the dark background.

Mod Additions:

Fallout 3 Radio Stutter Fix*

subsection added in guide pointing to page with a good overview

Clean - Deluxe GOTY

Fallout 3 Interface Color Changer

Fallout 3 DLC Item Descriptions

Personal Achievements Log

Mod Alternatives For:

I use the DLC items but forgot to put the mod in the guide. I added the Interface mod. I'll look at the others.

I fixed the errors/omissions. I plan to provide two versions of a sample MO profile, one for 1GB VRAM systems and one for 2GB or greater VRAM. In my runthrough I haven't exceeded 2GB even with many of the high res mods.

Thanks for the favorable comments about the guide. A lot of your suggestions were incorporated in the version that is up now. Let us know if you have additional ideas, as well as comments on what works well/doesn't work well.

My concentration lately has been on compatibility and game balance. I've been working with the compatibility mods and bash tags to reduce any manual patching in FO3Edit to as little as I can. I've also been looking at the game balance so the game doesn't get too easy at high level and is somewhat survivable at low level (lots of sneaking and avoiding battle at low level when the MMM mod is used).

All but a few of the mods in the guide that need LOOT entries now have them.

Ok, I've completed the whole guide for the third time and for the past one week I've been playing a fresh new game.

I have followed the guide to the letter then created a new copy/paste profile in MO and added some other mods I wanted in my modded setup (like AWOP, 85 Outfits ReColor, Better Balanced Backpacks,etc.). The only alternation I've made is that instead of using Megaton Lighting Overhaul, Realistic Interior Lighting and the weather mods from the guide, I used the URWLFO3 for ENB from moddb.com. It's a personal choice since I consider it the best weather/lighting mod available for FO3(it's actually the only weather mod that comes close to Nevada Skies for NV in terms of quality of cloud textures, etc.) and it also covers the megaton lighting and the interiors lighting on its own, so it saved me a bunch of plugins as well. I didn't use the ENBoost feature since it caused me a heck of problems like stuttering and freezing, but I used a custom ENB preset of mine and everything runs flawlessly.

Regarding the bashed patch, I took the decision to leave the Blackened combo patch for FWE+MMM+PB+EVE out of the rebuilding bashed patch process and placed it right after Bashed Patch, 0.esp in my load order. In the end I created my own custom patch in FO3Edit fixing conflicts between Bashed Patch, 0.esp and the Blackened plugin and anything that had to do with NPCs inventories and some cells and worldspace records(records from my weather mod getting overwritten by vanilla records that kind of stuff).

Now, about the result; I have to admit that it is by far the best modded FO3 gameplay I've ever had till now. I can't thank you enough Kelmych for this tremendous effort and for giving us again a reason to grab this jewel from our shelves. Of course, I've already found some glitches and bugs so let me finish my post mentioning some of them.

- Zealotless MP5 Pack doesn't work properly for me for unknown reason. I found a couple of machine-guns from this mod and they were both white changing colors when moving my camera all around. I know this usually has to do with missing textures or wrong textures pathing or something like that but in MO the mod is not overwritten or overwrites nothing and in FO3Edit there's no conflict of any kind. I don't know if i did something wrong with its patch for FWE, but anyway in the end I just decided to remove it from my installed mods list. There are already enough guns to play around anyway.

- Found some random female raiders that had weird body textures or those brown blocks around their legs and bodies ONLY when you stripped them off looting their armor from their inventory.

Solution: Install TYPE3RAIDERTEXTURESfull from DIMONIZED TYPE3 female body mod, then install MMMF3 Type3 Raider Textures from MMMF3 Type3 Raider Texture Fixhttps://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/9010/? ] and then install TYPE3-V-RaiderSkins-MMMF3 from Alternate Female Raider Skins for Type3 - TypeV - MMMF3 [ https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/11711/? ] right in this order. I don't know why or how but only after installing all 3 of these mods together in this order seems to fix the problem. No weird raider body textures this far in my gameplay. I guess it needs further testing but let me be the first to confirm that this works, for me at least.

- Had to manually override some script records from the Delay DLC mod's plugins that were getting overwritten by FWE in order for the mod to work properly.

Ok I think these are the most important I can remember. If anything else occurs I'll let you know immediately.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to find a place for young Bryan Wilks to stay. See ya!
