There's a typo in the DynDOLOD 3 Alpha instructions in step 19:

  1. Create a folder for the application output call DynDOLOD_Output: ..\Games\Modding\Tools\DynDOLOD\DynDOLOD_Oputput

In the same step, you might want to specify for the DoubleSidedTextureMask and DoubleSidedMeshMask options that you need to uncomment them by removing the semicolons. Some people might not be familiar enough syntax to know how comments work.

When I clean the masters on the Conflict Resolution patch, it says some mods in the guide that are marked as required (such as Improved Closefaced Helmets and Butterflies Unchained) actually have no references. Why is this?

The CR patch carries forward changes that don't require the parent mod plugin to be a master of the patch. For example, if several mods change the gold value of a vanilla item, this creates a conflict. The CR patch resolves it by carrying forward one of them so that it "wins". An item value is just a number, it doesn't require anything from any of the mods that change it. The only hard dependency is on the vanilla masters which contain the item (e.g. Skyrim.esm).

The guide never explicitly says to enable the xEdit Output mod you create.

I have addressed all of these for the next Guide release.

CCOR and Odin are required by the Conflict Resolution patch, even though they're not marked as such in the guide.

I have marked Odin for the CR Patch.

The CCOR records have already been removed from the CR Patch in the development version of the Patch for the next Guide release.

Thanks for the reports! ;)

To add to what Mousetick said, we may also add masters to the Patches to force a specific load order.

The Guide runs from a generic LOOT sort. We did this to make it easy on the user and this eliminated all the old LOOT Rules past Guides. Though this meant more work for us, we thought it important to make it as easy on the user as possible. As such, on thing we may have to do is add false masters to force our Patches below another mod; else LOOT sorts it incorrectly. It's just one of the many things we do to make the Guide as user-friendly as possible.

I have been doing the full install of everything in STEP SSE 2.0.0 including ENB and Lighting/Weather mods. Things have been going pretty well until I got to DynDOLOD. The DynDOLOD tool fail to start due to some unresolved reference errors in cctwbsse001-puzzledungeon.esm and Step Patch - Conflict Resolution.esp. Specifically, these ones:

cctwbsse001-puzzledungeon.esm
    DLCDwarvenPuzzleDungeon_StaffPedestal "Altar of the Seasons" [ACTI:07000883]
        ACTI \ VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter \ Scripts \ Script \ Properties \ Property \ Value \ Object Union \ Object v2 \ FormID -> [0700091C] < Error: Could not be resolved >
    DLCDwarvenPuzzleDungeonSummerRespawnLever "Repair Spider Release Lever" [ACTI:07000867]
        ACTI \ VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter \ Scripts \ Script \ Properties \ Property \ Value \ Object Union \ Object v2 \ FormID -> [0704DAF9] < Error: Could not be resolved >

Step Patch - Conflict Resolution.esp

        REFR \ NAME - Base -> [1C00FFD4] < Error: Could not be resolved >

As far as I can tell I've installed all mods on the list exactly as instructed, though it's possible I might've missed something. Anyone know what I might've missed that could have caused these issues to be missed earlier in the guide? (I did do a xEdit QuickAutoClean on all my mods that were flagged in LOOT as instructed. These mods were not flagged by LOOT, and I don't think the QuickAutoClean addresses these issues anyway since they appear to need manual cleanup.)

Here's the full list of issues I see reported by xEdit when I run error checking on my entire 2.0.0 mod list thus far - not sure if any of these other issues would also need to be addressed or if they're safe to ignore:

It's been quite a few years since I booted up Skyrim, so my skills are a bit rusty.

In any case, thanks for making this guide available!

You need to purchase the Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Steam that includes all of the Creation Club content. Last time I checked it was $20 USD. After you purchase this, start the game on its own (not from Mod Organizer) and it should download all of the content. Once it finishes downloading, exit the game, run Mod Organizer, and run LOOT to sort the plugins.

I'm looking in SSEEdit and I see that ACTI:07000083 indeed has an unresolved reference to 0700091C and ACTI:07000867 has an unresolved reference to 0704DAF9. These are errors in the Creation Club plugin so I doubt we can do anything about these two.

The error in Step Patch - Conflict Resolution.esp is likely because you are missing or have not activated Better Dynamic Snow.

All of the other errors you listed appear to be benign and can be ignored. Some of these are included in the log as a precaution because xEdit does not know what these values mean.

EDIT: I may be mistaken about missing Better Dynamic Snow. It looks as if Better Dynamic Snow recently updated and this may be the reason for the unknown reference to 1C00FFD4. If you have the latest version, you might install Better Dynamic Snow SE v3.4.0 in Old Files.

Aha.

You clued me in to the issue. I had installed Better Dynamic Snow version 3.5.0, which was released yesterday morning. That version causes STEP Conflict Resolution patch to have a missing reference error. The changelog for v3.5.0 notes that there were some changes to the ESM and ESP structure, so that is probably why. I installed the older v3.4.0 of Better Dynamic Snow and that one works correctly with the STEP Conflict Resolution patch (no error).

For the Creation Club plugin issue, I think the STEP guide should give some instruction about what to do about it (even if that is simply disabling the ESP while running DynDOLOD?), since it caused a fatal error that prevented me from running DynDOLOD.

Thanks for your help!

I've noticed I seem to be getting more jewelry and potions from enemies. For example, in Bleak Falls Barrow at level 3, bandits almost all have potions and the draugr are dropping rings. Is there anything in the guide that would cause this?
