  1. Discussion topic: Cathedral Landscapes by The Community Wiki Link This is a mod that overhauls the grass and landscapes of Skyrim SE. It's grass is optimized compared to other grass mods in that the vertices have been reduce, thus providing a performance advantage vs other similar mods. It also comes coupled with landscape textures specifically designed to blend well with the grasses. Due to the design of the grass being affected by lighting it's specifically designed for use with Cathedral Weathers and Seasons to achieve the designed outcome, however, it has been reported to work well with other weather mods as well.
  2. I hope I didn't miss a post that has been resolved for someone else already, forgive me if it has but I did not see anything regarding this. Anyways, depending on the angle I look at some grass, it can shift between 1 or even 2 different grass textures and I have no idea why. To be more specific, the textures they turn into can sometimes be LODs or other grass types. It's not a consistent issue I get as it only every now and again. Saving and reloading fixes it but it's still kind of annoying and I would love to fix the issue if at all possible. For the record, I use Skyrim Flora Overhaul (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141) and Northern Grass (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/97408). I only use SFO for trees and the latter for grasses. It happens with all my brand new saves with newly generated DynDOLOD files. EDIT - I edited my post.
  3. Discussion thread: Verdant - A Skyrim Grass Plugin by Preeum Wiki Link This is a beautiful grass mod which overhauls the grasses in Skyrim. Each region has its own unique style which blend in well with the other textures for the region. This mod also claims to be performance friendly while still providing lush grass since it uses the Grass on Steroids tweak. Verdant also removes the "grass rocks" from the game similar to Insignificant Object Remover; however, it also removes all underwater kelp as well. This mod is compatible with SFO, however, install it after SFO. This way you get SFO Trees with Verdant grasses. Those installing this mod with ICAIO will need to forward some location records added by ICAIO: 00009307000099B6000099B70000932700009750As of version 2.2, Verdant is not up-to-date with the latest USLEEP release (v3.0.6). Users will need to forward the following records: 0000929A0000BC34
  4. Nexus Link The Vanilla Vegetation Overhaul improves textures of trees, plants and grasses, but tries at the same time to keep a very vanilla-like look. This mod does change textures of tree branches, most plants and grasses and also adds new grasses for more variety. Since there is no "grass only" version of SFO for Skyrim SE, when i saw this mod i thought that it would be the perfect replacement in case of a STEP Special Edition. The only downside (for me at least) is that there is no Realistic Aspen Trees patch yet.
  5. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_INI/Grass https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:SkyrimPrefs_INI/Grass After experimenting with grass settings, I am recommending the following grass settings for STEP: Skyrim.ini [Grass] bAllowCreateGrass=1 bAllowLoadGrass=0 bDrawShaderGrass=1 fGrassFadeRange=10000 fTexturePctThreshold=0 iGrassCellRadius=2 iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 iMinGrassSize=40 SkyrimPrefs.ini [Grass] fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000 fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0 fGrassStartFadeDistance=1000 What this does is lowers the grass fade starting distance while expanding the range over which grass fades, which almost if not entirely removes the grass popping in effect that can be experienced if merely increasing the grass fade distance. A video to demonstrate this might be useful. Also, a slight increase to iMinGrassSize (grass density) doesn't have any real visual effect and may increase performance slightly. iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure is set to the Skyrim Flora Overhaul recommended level, and it really doesn't appear to affect vanilla much, although it definitely is a valid setting. Testing of this value needs to be done. The rest are default settings or fixes for the default settings. Optionally users can disable windy grass: Skyrim.ini [Grass] fGrassWindMagnitudeMax=0 fGrassWindMagnitudeMin=0 If users prefer to disable grass altogether, these settings should remove grass several times over: Skyrim.ini [Grass] bAllowCreateGrass=0 bAllowLoadGrass=0 bDrawShaderGrass=0 fGrassFadeRange=0 fTexturePctThreshold=0.2 fGrassWindMagnitudeMax=0 fGrassWindMagnitudeMin=0 iGrassCellRadius=-1 iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=-1 iMinGrassSize=0SkyrimPrefs.ini [Grass] fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000 fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0 fGrassStartFadeDistance=0as well as the TG console command.
