DROPPED STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures (by z929669)
Nebulous112 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Good news on this front: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12720/ It looks like the Standard version of the Optimized Textures may live to see another day. It may be worth contacting BlindJudge to see if he can help out with getting this uploaded in the short-term. -
No they didn't, new registration is needed. I registered "Nebulous112" today on the Bethesda.net (which is same username I had on the old forum). I have also read that the old forum will be locked and archived, so at least the old content shouldn't get lost. Edit: LMAO: Ninja'd on both my response and the "new" point I meant to bring up. You're good, Grant! Too good... ;-)

SkyrimPrefs.INI in Mod Organizer and my new Graphics Card
Nebulous112 replied to Zombo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Delete the older .ini files. Run Skyrim Launcher from Steam, outside of MO. Do the process in the Skyrim Configuration Settings Skyrim Launcher guide...it should end with you launching the game to the main menu, if I recall correctly. (Menu where you choose New Game or Load Game, etc.) Then exit the game. Check My Documents. It should have the new .ini's in there. Then launch MO. When you launch MO, it should see there are no .ini's in the active profile, and copy them from My Documents. Then add the .ini tweaks to the new .ini's in the MO profile. Then start SKSE. This should work. Also, what value are you getting in the VRamSizeTest? If it is 4064, that is due to the Windows 8 / 10 bug that doesn't allow more than 4GB of VRAM for DX9. However, that test is only showing relevant info for ENBoost. ENBoost uses a memory workaround to also use system RAM as well as VRAM. So I wouldn't discount any advantage from the new videocard just based on that test. :-) Edit: More info. Edit 2: I meant the Skyrim Launcher Guide. My mistake. -
HQ Quality option/ Mod installation
Nebulous112 replied to MetalVez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
For adding any packs: Just re-do the patches section afterward, Bashed Patch through DynDOLOD. Not all of the patches need to be re-done depending on what mods you installed, but if you don't know, better safe than sorry. And yeah, the instruction is there, you must have just missed it. Easy to do with such a verbose guide, for sure. :-) See the fourth bullet point here: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2#STEP_2 -
It looks like Bethesda.net and the new forum is finally happening. https://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1588608-bethesdanet-account-creation-soft-launch-coming-today/

Hi Strider, If you are using STEP, download the STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures linked to in the fixes section. No need to use DDSopt. However, Falskaar is not a part of the STEP guide. Are you perhaps using SR:LE? I know Neo has different instructions regarding optimizing textures. Edit: Also, this isn't the best place for questions. This forum is for suggestions and discussions regarding wiki guides and tutorials. Not support. There is a whole DDSopt forum for support here: https://forum.step-project.com/forum/59-ddsopt-support/

ACCEPTED The Paarthurnax Ultimatum (by Telamont)
Nebulous112 replied to Penrutet's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'll be trying this one out, I think. I like the thought of the "union" between this and Arthmoor's Dilemma. Best of both worlds. I don't really like how the mod currently in testing to replace Dilemma, Paarthurnax Bypass, handled things (from the video). Far too little dialogue, IMO. -
It does put a new spin on "Dragonborn". Already halfway there, lol.

Success! :-D Edit: Pictures look really nice, Darth.

Yeah, I couldn't see the pictures you posted on the last page. What about Mediafire? I remembered a discussion in the Legacy of the Dragonborn Nexus page. ICA was trying to determine what the best file sharing service would be for a mirror download site for the upcoming Legacy v15 FOMOD: No mention was made of image sharing in forums...I signed up myself, and tested out an image: It looks like it works. When I signed up, it downloaded the desktop app, but I wanted to confirm it wasn't necessary for uploads <2GB. I uploaded this picture through the MediaFire website, browsed to the file location in the representation of "My Files" in my MediaFire user directory, opened the link, then right-click "Copy Image URL".

SkyrimPrefs.INI in Mod Organizer and my new Graphics Card
Nebulous112 replied to Zombo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, if you replace the videocard you should re-run the Skyrim Launcher per the Skyrim Configuration Settings Guide Skyrim Launcher Guide. First you will have to delete your .ini files from My Documents and from the MO Profile per the procedure here: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2#1.D._INI_Tweaks Then after re-running the Skyrim Launcher per instructions, you will have to edit the MO profile .ini's again with the STEP recommended tweaks. Edit: Meant Skyrim Launcher Guide -
HQ Quality option/ Mod installation
Nebulous112 replied to MetalVez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The beauty of Mod Organizer is that it keeps each installed mod separate in its own folder. Just download the 2k version, install it, and when it recognizes the same filename, choose "replace". When STEP asks you to install the main file and an optional file for the same mod, install the main file first, then the optional file, and choose merge. The only exception would be if there are two totally separate mods on the same Nexus page, for example the STEP Optimized Vanilla Textures and the STEP Compilation. Then you would install the two mods separately, and re-name. See this: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#Installing Besides reading the linked to section in the MO guide, it may be worth your time to browse the whole MO guide. A lot of useful info in there. Regarding the particular mods you mention...I haven't used them, so I cannot say. However, if you download and install them, see if MO says whether they conflict with any other mods. If not, it's likely that they will be fine. Just make sure you install any extra mods before you do the Patches section, or re-do the patches section afterword. -
After Installing, ?successfully? in game message:

Welcome to STEP, Strider_Lacosse. :-) ??? What mod are you referring to? How is this in regards to xEdit? I'm sorry, I really do not understand. Please provide more info. -
DROPPED High Quality 3D Map (by Ethatron)
Nebulous112 replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Install both and choose merge when it recognizes that both have the same filename. -
General is always a good spot if you don't know where to post. The Mod Anthology forum contains all the threads for current mods in STEP. If you have a question about a particular mod, either would be appropriate. A question regarding multiple mods would be better served in General.

Need help to identify mod name in chanlog of Step 2.2.9.2D
Nebulous112 replied to memnochs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi memnochs, welcome to STEP! :-) "AICIO" is a typo on the Nexus changelog. It should read "ICAIO", which stands for "Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul". I think you are actually looking at the change for 2.2.9.2d. The current version is 2.2.9.2g. The main changes were updating for new versions of Immersive Citizens (now 2.4) and TCIY, and also including versions of the STEP patches that do not require Immersive Citizens. Besides that, a few releases were just bug fixes for the FOMOD installer. -
Welcome to STEP, Zombo! :-) It doesn't matter where the SKSE scripts go, as long as they are before any mods that use SKSE. If you follow the STEP guide, none of the items with a lower priority order in MO use SKSE at all. Mine is actually 13th. 0-6 is the base game and cleaned ESMs. 7 is USLEEP. 8-11 is the High Resolution Texture packs and the Unofficial patch for them. 12 is the STEP Optimized Textures. 13 is finally the SKSE scripts. Whether I put it at 0 or 13, it won't make a difference. Edit: Also, as a rule, follow the text instead of the video when they conflict. The video was made with an earlier version of STEP, and is somewhat outdated. Also, it is assumed when you download a mod that you tick the check box to enable it. Why download a mod if you don't want to use it? :-)

[BUG] Strange Camera Glitch During Intro Sequence
Nebulous112 replied to thelordcaptain's question in General Skyrim LE Support
One of the icons, I think third from the left at the top, IIRC, has a bunch of options for formatting. One of them is "spoiler". On mobile at the moment. You can also use
text
-
MO Mysteriously Refuses to Download from or Log in to Nexus
Nebulous112 replied to Sarcasm's question in Mod Organizer Support
Well, I'm glad you got it working. That is weird. I've never had NMM on my new laptop since I re-installed Windows. And my MO logs in fine to Nexus. Oh well! :-P -
MO Mysteriously Refuses to Download from or Log in to Nexus
Nebulous112 replied to Sarcasm's question in Mod Organizer Support
You don't need anything to do with NMM. Try logging into Nexus normally in a browser window, and click the associate button again in MO. Then just try to download a mod from the browser with the download with manager button. It took a couple times for it to work with me. I did the same thing originally with the tutorial...I think the tutorial is lightly bugged. Keep trying and it should work. -
ACCEPTED Stealth Skills Rebalanced (by kryptopyr)
Nebulous112 replied to kryptopyr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I read through the features, and I like what this mod is trying to do. I think the Basic version would be more appropriate for STEP. The mod does change quite a few things; I'm interested to try out the new sneaking to see how difficult it really is. A small to medium increase in difficulty would be fine for me. If it makes the sneaking somewhere near Metal Gear Solid difficult, I don't think I would like it for Skyrim. :-P Overall, this mod looks pretty neat, though. Definitely worth a try. And thanks @GrantSP for the xEdit comparison with NARC. With your findings I agree that NARC should be kept regardless of this mod's inclusion. -
Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
Nebulous112 replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
For Alchemy: Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul (CACO), currently in testing. -
Potential crucial typo in the "Setup TES5Edit with "-o:" argument."
Nebulous112 replied to TheGamingGeneral's question in xEdit Support
Not a typo. The quotation marks are required in the argument. -
Hi maxconn17, welcome to STEP. :-) There is some older discussion about this mod in an existing thread. See here: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/1702-stealth-skills-rebalanced/ Just so you are aware, the mods forum is restricted to one thread per mod, so that all discussion gets preserved on the same thread (for future users who may have similar questions). I would ask that you post in that thread with your query. I wish I could help you myself, but I don't use Stealth Skills Rebalanced, so I'm really not sure what it would conflict with.
