  1. Yes, yes and yes. I have been hoping for a Legacy pack for a long time... Or just STEP Legacy. ;-) SR:LE may be too much as a base.
  2. Sounds like that would work fine. I always make a custom patch in xEdit, and that way I never have to mess with the actual mods themselves. That way I don't forget about it when the file updates. 2.3 is still a while away, from what I've heard. Now is a great time to update, as everything seems to be just about in sync.
  3. The last major STEP version update was in late November 2015, to 2.2.9.2. Since then, there have been a bunch of minor updates. https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.2
  4. Welcome, Van!
  5. Fair enough. The reason I ask is that I think the lore friendly version only has fire and cold elements. I think the electric and poison (and I think there is one more type) are only in the full version. Thanks for the heads-up, anyway. I will be trying out the lore friendly version of this, so if I see any issues I'll update the thread.
  6. There is some conflict resolution that needs to be dealt with as well. Neo's SR:LE conflict resolution guide points the items out quite nicely. Teabag, I wonder if this only affects the full version, or if the lore-friendly version also has this potential issue?
  7. I'm in telecommunications. I haven't done too much research, but having spoken with some of my colleagues who worked at our Montreal branch, I think they made around 20% less for the same position and experience level in western Canada. And there were less jobs available out there. This was a few years ago, mind you. Yeah, hopefully the economy picks up all around. Edit: And you guys aren't alone in being hockey fans. Definitely my favourite sport to watch, but I've seen less and less games over the past few years. I've only been to two games live this year, and only watched a handful of full games on TV. Modding has taken up most of my free time, lol.
  8. Welcome! I love Montreal...my favourite city in Canada, for sure (although I have only spent a few months in Quebec and only a month of that in Montreal). If only I could get a decent paying job in my field out there! Lol, well, the way things are going in western Canada, I may make it out there sooner than I thought! Lol.
  9. The way I look at it, a conscious AI could possibly look at us the way we look at animals. We do not want to hurt animals, but we don't really care about them either. They are just insignificant. Personally, I like humans being the top creature on this planet. If the AI Singularity occurs, I worry we would soon no longer be at the top... Anyway, back on the topic of the new glass storage medium...I hope they make some really good cases to store these in. Being that they are made of glass, I assume they will only last 13.8 billion years if someone doesn't drop them! Lol. ;-)
  10. Years in the future, when I finally achieve that sacred "perfect" mod list, I will have the satisfaction of knowing my Skyrim folder could outlive the dying of the sun. By about a billion years. LOL This is fantastic. The exponential pace of technology advancement is simply phenomenal. I never thought I would see something like this, at least not for decades to come. What unsettles me, MonoAccipiter, is the advances in AI, and on a lesser note, the advances in combat robotics. Maybe I have read too much Sci-Fi, but I think we need to take a minute and devise some serious safeguards before developing something we can't handle.
  11. I would assume the prices will go down. That is usually what happens when a new version is released. Also, I would highly recommend trying to get a copy of Windows 7. Windows 8 / 10 caps VRAM memory at 4GB due to a Microsoft bug with DX9. ENBoost tricks the system into using RAM as well as VRAM, so being stuck at a 4GB limit isn't the best. I'm currently looking into a dual-boot solution for my machine. I'm on Windows 8.1 right now myself.
  12. I would recommend just going with STEP Extended, and avoiding SR:LE or SR:LE Extended. I think the ENB and all the other mods added would be too much for your system. With 2GB VRAM and Windows 8 instead of Windows 7, you are a bit underpowered. You can still do a STEP build, but go for the lower quality or performance textures when you can. If it still stutters, reduce the resolution.
  13. I don't know what you did. There are two scenarios listed for each thing you clean. Follow the instructions in the guide exactly and you should be fine. I really do not know how to explain the process any clearer than the guide does. As the instructions say, only load the specific plug in you are cleaning at the time, along with Skyrim.esm and Update.esm. Dawnguard also has to be cleaned twice. Verify your game cache through Steam and try again. It's very important that you follow the steps exactly.
  14. As Tech said, before you run the script you need to move DynDOLOD.esp to the last spot in the load order. You can drag and drop it in the right pane to move it manually. After you have finished the DynDOLOD process, when you run LOOT again, it is fine to have other patches after it (however LOOT sorts it).
  15. There very likely could be a guide; it all depends on the interest from those with knowledge enough to write one. I know there was a poll about it a while back, and most were in favor of some sort of guide, so I think the interest is definitely there.
  16. Saerileth just updated this to v2.1. :-) The difference is that there is a new texture by Gamwich for the crown, which matches the color of the jewelry box. 1k and 2k variants available. I haven't seen it in-game, but I like the look of Gamwich's version of the crown from the Nexus page, so I am going to install that version. Any thoughts on whether we should change the recommended FOMOD options for this?
  17. FYI, it looks like there is an error with the FOMOD for 2.2.9.2i. Both options are ticked on this screen, and nothing is grayed out. I am eligible for the Extended Patch. If I untick "Not Eligible", and leave "Eligible" ticked, the install options will continue properly for installing the Extended Patch. If I untick "Eligible" and leave "Not Eligible" ticked, it will take me to the install page about the Core patch, which has the same issue (both are ticked by default and nothing grayed out). If I leave both ticked, it takes me directly to the Compilation install page, and skips everything about the patch. If I untick both, it also takes me directly to the Compilation install page. Also, another bug (although very minor) - the FOMOD install "version" is listed as 1.2 in the FOMOD, when it should be "2.2.9.2[x]". I believe this sets the mod version number in MO, so it would be nice if it could be changed as well.
  18. Unfortunately, for a $500 laptop, it will be near impossible to get the performance you're looking for. I have a near $1500 laptop (see specs in signature) that I run STEP on, and the performance is not spectacular. I have a 970M, which is approximately equivalent to a GTX 770. Laptops and gaming are not the best combo.
  19. Which version are you using? I think Chesko fixed this in one of the last updates. Latest version is 1.06. Unless you are also using SkyRe, for which Chesko mentions on the description page that the combo of the three mods leaves auropick bugged.
  20. ELE - I'm not sure what you mean about an update. STEP and the ELE Lite Nexus description page mention only installing the v0_95c file. You shouldn't install anything else from that page. Realistic HD Baskets - The main files are version 1.1. STEP recommends you install the Quality file. In the Old files section, v1.0 of the files is available, along with the update to v1.1. You should only download the one main file STEP recommends. Come Together - the v1.2a update is recommended by the mod author only to be installed if the follower or NPC list lock up. It will disable the sorting feature. Edit: Regarding the packs...I'm not sure, as I don't use either one. Read the packs carefully, as they may say right in them. Otherwise, feel free to post questions in the appropriate threads on the Packs section of the forum. You might get more response from people who actually use the packs (or the authors themselves) over there, as many people don't tend to read this section of the forum. There are threads for both of those packs on the first page.
  21. No, they are different things.
  22. Man, Arthmoor has been busy today! Cutting Room Floor v2.01 released. It doesn't look like the above bug with the sleeved Stormcloak Cuirass was fixed, unfortunately. Some other bug fixes though.
  23. The Unofficial High Resolution Patch has been updated to v1.2.0! First update since October of 2014. See the changelog here.
