Yea sorry about that. I just added an additional note in the changelog to point out there was an instruction change under https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Kelmych/Fallout3#Setting_up_Mod_Organizer Specifically: FO3LODGen also needs an addition. In the Executables menu select FO3LODGen. Next to the Arguments text box, type " -o:"D:\Games\FO3LODGenOutput" ", without the outer quotations. Note that any directory chosen for this argument cannot be in UAC-controlled space, the root Fallout 3 Goty folder, or the Mod Organizer folder used for FO3. Click [Modify], then [Close].

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP
Adonis_VII replied to hishutup's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Can't really contribute as I don't have much experience with Oblivion, but I've been following the progress. Keep up the good work! -
Added note under changes to point out the extra step for FNVLODGen under setting up mod organizer

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Adonis_VII replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Tree LOD is broken in New Vegas. It has a tendency of dropping the LOD at the incorrect time (i.e. not when the actual mesh is loaded). It has been completely replaced with Object LOD, which is of higher quality anyway using actual 3D models than can be angled, instead of straight 2D texture. It can be used for small vegetation, which I need to run through. -
Awuful performance in New Vegas
Adonis_VII replied to Audley's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
It will always be difficult to diagnose without having the computer in front of me, but I'll try giving it a go. Have you gone through NVidia inspector and added FalloutMO.exe and FNV4GB.exe to your profile, and set Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Single display performance mode and set Power Managment Mode: Prefer amximum performance ?Have you tried MultithreadedAI=1? I have found it adds no instability and the author of FNV4GB.exe finds the same. This should help with AI heavy areasHave you tried switching from v2.0a to v3.0 shaders? Open Renderinfo.txt in your my documents\my games\falloutnv\ folder. There will be a line for Shader Package: [Number] Now go to you Data/Shaders/ folder, and renambe shaderpackage[number].sdp to shaderpackage[number].sdp_backup. Make a copy of shaderpackage019.sdp and rename it to shaderpackage[number].sdp In your inis. set bAllow30Shaders=1.When the FPS drops occur is there alot of noise? Have you tried upgrading the Vorbis engine? Also, do you have NVidia Geforce Experience? It has been known to cause issues with certain games including both Fallouts. Also 2, when you say vanilla, is that still with the utilizties such as 4GB, NVAC, NVSR? EDIT: Added 3.0 shaders tweak ini line. -

Woops, thanks for that catch! -
I've added instructions to install and run FO3LODGen to the guide. As far as I'm aware, there are no issues with textures in the guide. Remember however, not everything will have LOD. There are still 100s if not 1000s of meshes that have no LOD, Arefu for instance will have no building LOD generated.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Adonis_VII replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I've added instructions for FNVLODGen. I placed initial installation of the utility in the Utilities section. Under Setting up Mod Organizer I placed a note for the Arguments tab to have FNVLODGen output outside the virtual directory (I've had issues with it before, can be removed if the issues have been fixed)I added a FNVLODGen section towards the end of the guide once all other esp and and mods have been installed. This is where to load the LOD resources, NMC fix, and any other LOD meshes/texture in the future (you can change of course if you want I just thought here would be logical). I added instructions for running FNVLODGen and installing the generated files.Of course feel free to change/remove any of these changes if you'd like to do it differently. -

Now that FNVLODGen is released publicly on the nexus, people using it with with F&L should hide the following files in NMC with MO textures\landscape\nv_rocks\nv_rockcanyonblklod_d.dds (2k)textures\landscape\nv_rocks\nv_rockcanyonlod_d.dds (2k)textures\landscape\nv_rocks\nv_rockcanyonlod_n.dds (actually fine, but unneeded without the above texture)textures\landscape\nv_rocks\nv_rockcanyonrdrklod_d.dds (is a normal map, not a diffuse, unless you want bright blue rocks)EDIT: Ignore that, with the change to 2k texture limit catching and NMC LOD fix file this will probably no longer be needed -

It doesn't for me, but I have a GTX 980. It's a shame though as there are still no _lod.nif for them, so they'll still disappear when the cells unload. I was looking into getting lod working for the jets atleast. -

I did look at the holotape mesh before and didn't get it, but I think with that texture it helps it stand out still. I've downloaded both. I use RWL and the XChainsaw, they're really nice. I didn't see a areal improvement in Better Authority Glasses, and Caesar's new regime goes a bit too far for me. It looks awesome, but feels off. That Caravan Card Control looks interesting, I'll have to check that out. Uncut Wasteland just got a large update adding back more components to the dam among other things. Vanilla: Main + newest optional: -
You're not wrong about some of it looking like worm food, all that Perlin noise for the displacement: It only as a single noise map as controllable input, as opposed to three options for skyrim water. They also have an 8bit alpha channel, though they all seem to just be set to 255 over the entire map. There does seem to be a second texture over it that is really low res that flickers the sunlight and becomes more apparently the higher the slope of the displacement. I'm still not sure what it is as I haven't found its source in the texture files or any option in the .esm/.esp. My testing has mostly been using WATER and RWT textures and changing parameters to understand the different from fallout and skyrim.

Yea thinking about it it more I figured nexus would be easiest, so I'll just release versions on both FNV/FO3 nexuses for each guide if they wish to use it. I'm working on smoke wisps, drops, and hd water atm. I've made fairly decent progress with understanding the water engine in FO3/FNV so hopefully I can finish that up soonish. EDIT: A preiview of the water Vanilla -> Modded

FO3LODGen (by Ehamloptiran Sheson and FO3Edit Team)
Adonis_VII replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 Mods
It's really great. I haven't run into any issues with any FO3 textures like I did with FNV for this (LOD texture shouldn't be more than 1024). It really does alot to fill out the wasteland. -

Hmm that FOOK optional looks interesting. I'm downloading it now. Any other small texture/meshes that you use to supplement the guide? -
I made a small edit for HD Smokey Fire description, the assets are from the STEP Skyrim mod. I had a similar idea and released a Mist retexture from Ramccoid Skyrim mod https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7918-hd-mist-by-ramccoid/. I'm looking at upgrading the water noise maps, some of the light FX, and a couple other mods by Ramccoid. I can release on FO3 nexus too if you'd like. I anyone has any good skyrim FX mods in mind, let me know and I'll see how much work is needed to convert them over.

I made some meshes so that Street Lights uses NMC's textures so that all the lights are a bit more HD if you want to use it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hkc8i6j3gat6kte/Streetlights%20NMC.7z?dl=0 You can rehost it however you'd like.

textures/creatures/sentryturret/sentryturret_g.dds textures/creatures/sentryturret/sentrybot_g.dds textures/creatures/mistergutsy/mistergutsyweapons_n.dds textures/creatures/mistergusty/mistergutsyweapons.dds theres no sentrybot_g.dds file in the sentryturret folder, perhaps you meant sentryturret.dds? That one is actually my bad. It should be textures/creatures/sentrybot/sentrybot_g.dds -

There are pretty large bugs with Outside Bets, particularly Meyers speech. There are additionally bugs in Freeside Open and it could use some optimization (e.g. occlusion planes). It gets even worse if you use Uncut Wasteland for Freeside Open. Sandbox6's Black mountain radio is relatively new about 5-6 weeks old, so that may have been released after work on next version of STEP ramped up. I've been meaning to look at it myself as it seemed interesting. -

I talked with VIPerMX to repackage textures from his Locomotive Rifle to work as HD retextures for the Railway Rifle for FO3 & TTW. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57068/? Just download the optional replacer file and you're good to go. Comparison:

His naming convention is usually which game the asset was originally for, i.e. DCInteriors, NVInteriors, TTWInteriors. They keep the same name when ported over to one of the other versions, so TTW Interiors has all 3. This makes patches more easy to convert between game types. His NV releases are behind his TTW I believe. The new meshes are custom assets for all the suites along the strip. -
