  1. You should 68 being provided by Skyrim HD and 30 non-conflicted.
  2. Why? Unless you're doing rendering and content creation then 8GB is all you need for gaming and everyday tasks. Here's a video. 2yrs old but still true:
  3. I always recommend the latest version unless that version is considered Beta. Of course if you want to help Tannin with testing, use the beta versions.
  4. Untick it or move it to Optional ESPs.
  5. No, just make your changes, save, and close.
  6. Omg! That's a godsend! Thank you! So...all those sizes look similar to mine. Perhaps there was nothing wrong? Where's that 30GBs coming in?
  7. Still not working. I really don't understand DDSopt that well and try to avoid it. The batch files are running and finishing so my file structure is good to my knowledge. Something could be off with them them, but I wouldn't know.
  8. Grass clipping has been an issue since the game released. Would be easy to fix in the CK, but would be compatibility hell because of the world edits. Basically just repaint the ground where it's clipping with a different texture. Ground underneath static objects and structures should not use a grass type texture.
  9. Thanks for the heads up, I might do a compare
  10. Actually, you can use any account...or could. I used to use my Google account to sign into Windows 8.
  11. The thing is, most papyrus "spam" is harmless. Bad script design can make it spam a lot, but that doesn't make the mod itself bad. You really shouldn't even be logging it unless you're troubleshooting since it's typically useless otherwise, and even then the log tends to be useless to everyone but the authors.
  12. I noticed after running through the Guide for F&L that my Vanilla Optimized folder is only ~3GB where the Guide says you'll need about 30GB of space. Something seems off here! The log was clean like it should have been. I did notice while following the instructions that several sections were grayed out in DDSopt as if they weren't going to be processed for some reason and it looks like they may not have been. Anyone know what is going on here? (did I mention I dislike DDSopt...why hasn't someone created these and uploaded them to Nexus? ...now that Bethesda said we can do that sort of thing.)
  13. Was thinking the same thing.
  14. @CJ That is a very common use of verbiage for companies. In other words, what they're saying in that quote is the same for pretty much all companies.
  15. You can disable the plugin for it in MO, if you're sticking strictly to STEP. I don't recall the name of it atm.
  16. Got one update the other day replacing some system files that had something to due with better compatibility for Windows 10 and the Nvidia driver update for the same thing but that's it.
  17. If you are strictly following STEP, you need to ignore the PMOP messages and do NOT hit that fix button. STEP is installed in a specific order to allow specific overwrites to take place. Hitting that fix button will cause some issues in STEP. The PMOP message is a good feature for most modders. It makes sure that certain mods are in the same order that the plugins are in. You don't have to worry about this with STEP as we check these out personally for issues for the users. So keep the mods in the order that that are in the Guide. If you install mods on top of STEP. You'll have to check any PMOP message out personally that related to those extra mods to make sure there aren't any issues.
  18. First make sure your SKSE.ini file is actually an INI file and not a text file named "SKSE.ini". Under the File Type header in Explorer, it should say INI and not TXT. This is a common mistake when creating the file.
  19. Do not delete posts on these forums (you can't actually), but don't go back and edit them away with a "deleted this post" message or anything like that. STEP retains all posts for informational purposes.
  20. I'm going to wait in line to get the normal install instead of fixing it, but I've already created my backups and am ready to go whenever it is...unless you guys report some nasty bugs.
  21. There is a way to update LOOT in MO: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#LOOT (the notice at the bottom of the LOOT section). Basically, you have to have external LOOT installed to update MO's interal LOOT....which to me defeats the purpose of that Sort button because you have to install the external program anyway to update.
  22. You don't have to but it will say you some troubleshooting by doing so. What is most likely happening is that v2.3 has some extra or different tree textures which are conflicting with one of your other mods (probably Trees HD). This texture or textures aren't working when applied to the SFO tree meshes or vise versa. You'll have to start by looking at the conflicts within the 'textures/landscape/trees/' and 'meshes/landscape/trees/' folders. First make sure you have hidden the meshes and textures from Trees HD as instructed: https://wiki.step-project.com/Trees_HD Once you're found the conflicting files. Start hiding them one by one until you find the asset causing the issue. It's a lot of work, but such is the world of modding.
