Tried removing ENBoost from the equation, CTD'ed.
Halde posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi all! I just tried running Skyri after STEP installation without ENBoost, because I wanted to see how big the FPS hit would be. I wanted to try using Vandb pure ENB, which has a low performance hit, and in my humble opinion, looks pretty good. Problem is, that it is version 121212 of enbseries, and I'm told that that version doesn't support ENBoost. I got into the game, and it was pretty good. I was inside a building though(Dragonsreach) so having good FPS in there was expected. So I tried venturing out, and when I was loading Whiterun, I CTD'ed. My save is "clean"(started the character after I was done installing mods), so I don't assume that's the problem. But given that I still had above 40-50 FPS inside(Enhanced Light and FX takes a toll in that building), but normally run a clean 60(using the fps limiter in enblocal.ini), would not having ENBoost on really hit so hard, as to CTD me when being outside(and in a city no less). With the ENBoost on, I run about 25-40 FPS outside. ~Halde -
Ah ok. Thank you!

Remove XP32 Maximum Skeleton from STEP 2.3.0
Halde replied to SmaugNogardeht's question in General Skyrim LE Support
How would one know the order of the mods then? There are obviously conflicts between STEP: Core and STEP: Extended, otherwise there would be no point in shuffling them up in the first place. -
Hi all! So I'm using Enhanced Lights and FX(you should really consider adding this to STEP, it's amazing!). The main .esp has 12 ITM records according to LOOT reports. When I then go into TES5Edit to clean it, it doesn't remove any records. When I check LOOT after attempted cleaning, it still shows the 12 ITM. Is this a problem with LOOT, TES5Edit or the mod itself? I'm probably gonna use the mod anyway, but it would be very neat indeed to figure this out. ~Halde

@Aiyen I'm not quite sure what you mean. I have tried searching the forums for "two posts for the temp solution" and "temp solution", with no results other than your post(the post I'm replying to right now) ~Sincerely Halde

Hi! So I've looked at the usual suspect. I use the Injector version, since I'm on a laptop and doesn't trust the Optimus Fix. In the enblocal.ini I have all the STEP recommended settings, and additionally I have added a 60 FPS limit. In the enbinjector.ini I have skse_loader.exe added in the first slot and SkyrimLauncher.exe added in the third slot(previously I had them vice versa, but the tryed this, with no change). I did indeed launch the ENBInjector from Mod Organizer, and it opened up fine. When I open the game, all the annoying text doesn't appear, and I can't check my FPS using the "*" hotkey on keypad. My FPS feels fine though, so I think my computer can still handle it, but nevertheless, I would truly like for ENBoost to work. I have the "enbhost.exe" located in the Skyrim folder as well. I can't recall if this is actually required, but I threw it in there for good meassure. I think that covers it, and yes, I do not know more about ENB, so this is the extent of things I can fix on my own. ~Sincerely Halde

LOOT fails to show the report after it have sortet plugins. Thus I cannot see what mods I need to clean, other than those specifically pointed out by STEP(The official DLC's and BirdsandFlocks). What is causing this? I'm launching it through Mod Organizer, and I've the newest version. ~Sincerely Halde

Hi all! So in installing STEP 2.2.9 from scratch, my MO is acting weird. I did a new install of MO when I began as well, so it is version 1.2.9. First it said that the "Not Really HD-Display Case" mod archive was unsupported, even though it is the same archive as all the other mods(this has happend with Skyrim HD as well) Then with "Rens HD Shrines" it said "data error". These two mods I just blew off and figured I wouldn't install them. But now with "Septim HD" it says "encoding method unsupported", and I really adore this mod and find the change quite significant. So I figured that if I was gonna get advice on how to fix this, I might as well report two other mods as well. I don't know if this matters, but I downloaded them all through MO, and not manually. ~Sincerely Halde

ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
Halde replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Is it worth it to optimize these mods using the DDSopt guide? -
Well I have a GTX 760m 2GB VRAM(notice; mobile graphics card). I am not using Serious HD nor SRO, since I prefer Skyrim HD. I'm using the Lite version(1k textures), and using all the packages: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/607/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D607&pUp=1. I am using my DDSopt optimized textures, but as DoubleYou said, I don't know if these are the same textures as in the mod. I don't see a point in using this mod if these in fact are the same textures. Unless my FPS is too low, then I suppose I can just remove my optimized textures, and install the 1k version of this mod.

Hi all! What the title says. I was wondering about another thing as well though. Do we have a thread for questions like these so people like me doesn't clutter the forums with 1 question threads? ~Sincerely Halde

Does Skyrim support SLI well?
Halde replied to whateveryouwant's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry for necroing this subject, but I figured it was better than making a new thread. With a SLI setup with GTX 780, wouldn't it pretty much be able to crush anything I throw at it, graphics and ENB wise? Because I've read that when your game drops to ~30 FPS, SLI will most likely cause microstutter. -
This video might interest regarding the subject. It's a comparison video made by Gopher about ELFX and RLO and Vanilla(and CoT to some extent).

Well he made 3 ENB's first. Old ones by now. But he then made 3 more, more or less successors to the old ones. "K ENB Extensive", "Kinematic ENB Extensive" and "Kountervibe ENB". But thanks, I will just try the newest and work my way down then.

Hi all! Does anyone know what version of ENB series one should use with this ENB? I've tried googling and such, but can't find it. The ENB itself was taken off the Nexus site. I have the ENB files for this preset though, but I don't suppose it will work without the enbseries it was made for/with. ~Sincerely Halde

High Resolution Textures - FPS Hit?
Halde replied to tehpandemic's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Are you using 4k textures for outside areas? That sounds tough. Try get a GTX Titan Z. 16GB VRAM! -
High Resolution Textures - FPS Hit?
Halde replied to tehpandemic's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well big body textures such as STEP mod Better Males can take up 300MB on high resolutions. But I'm not sure if the limitations of Skyrim will allow for you to have 2k-4k textures everywhere and still allow for a stable game. But there is actually no reason to run around with such big textures. Gopher made a comparison video of Skyrim HD 2k(Full) and 1k(Lite) textures and Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. Between the 2k and 1k exterior textures, the difference was only noticeable on if you litteraly stood still and observed the objects in 1st person view(and even then, it was hardly noticeable). There obviously was a difference with Realistic Skyrm Overhaul, but that's due to a different style of texture. -
Falling/flipping cart and lockups during opening ride to helgen. HELP!
Halde replied to FalloutPrime's question in General Skyrim LE Support
On the ENB thing. Truevision ENB and Project ENB looks amazing from what I've seen. Made by the same guy too. Realvision ENB is probably one of the most used ENB's, and it's pretty good. If your PC can pull it off, Kinematic ENB Extensive is absolutely amazing. The author pulled it from the Nexus for some (seemingly)idiotic reason though. But it has been uploaded to various filesharing sites, although I don't know if this forum has a policy about respecting mod authors wishes, even when it seems unreasonable(and when it is not a mod used by STEP), so I won't post a link, but PM me if you want it, or try googling it. Check out this: https://imgur.com/a/2Dcez#0 -
Thanks! I'm not using an ENB though. I had this problem with W.A.T.E.R as well back in 2.2.7. It's just so strange...

Hi all! So I'm almost certain this has been covered at some point in history, but I seem to suck at finding the right answer(which is ironic, since I study history). Anyway, I cannot see anything under water. My screen turn sort of moss green/dark green. I know you can fix it with some console commands, but you are not actually fixing the problem, just disabling som visual things or disabling the water entirely. But there must be a way for this not to happen. This happens with the Water Realistic Two mod. I have no other mods specifically for water. The only other mod I have that I can think off that would interfer, would be Realistic Lighting Overhaul. I have the entire mod list of STEP 2.2.9 installed, plus some handpicked favourites of mine. Microstutter with Crossfire enabled. Perfect with Borderless Window.
Halde replied to Malachor's question in General Skyrim LE Support
What is your FPS when the stutter occour? Because as far as I know, microstutter appears for SLI/Crossfire solutions if FPS is ~30. -
Can this rig handle all the STEP mods and ENB?
Halde replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't think I know what SRLE + REGS is, but it sounds tough. And that's good news! :) The reason I am asking is that I'm like a week shy of buying a new computer, and I wanted to make sure it could pull off the game I play the most with all the groovy stuff:) -
