  1. Yea I'll be running 1920x1080. What screen size is recommendable for that resolution? Haven't found one yet. But I don't think I should go higher than 22"? BTW, has STEP servers been down the last couple of days?
  2. Hi all! It's simple, everything I want to ask is in the title. The core of the rig: i5-3570k Quad Core overclocked to 4.1 GHz Gigabyte R9 290 4GB VRAM(slightly faster than GTX 780) 16GB RAM(can't remember the manufactorer) Skyrim will be running from a SSD. ~Sincerely Halde
  3. You are removing the Extended mods?? How would one know when to put them in the installation order(left pane) of Mod Organizer then?
  4. Not in the plugin load order. In the left list. The installation order. The installation order and plugin order is independant of one another. So the list on the left should look as DoubleYou described. If you use the newest Mod Organizer, the official DLC's should not be tickable, and is listed as "Non-MO mods" Or something like that.
  5. BTW, don't follow the specifics of the "guide". After you have done a run with these, check the logs for anything out of place, since your problem is probably enitrely different, if it is revealed at all.
  6. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/703954-are-you-having-constant-exterior-ctds-ive-finally-found-your-solution/ Some guy/girl in another thread had a problem with consistent short freezes occouring about 2 minutes apart. He/she said that the answer was revealed by the Papyrus logs. Though I have absolutely no experience with it, as I've never used it.
  7. !Just on top of your head mods. I'm not asking for an actual researched list.
  8. I believe that formula is only when you actually use ENB's.
  9. Well I believe that in the enblocal.ini, you should just have the VRAM inidicator sat on "Automatically".
  10. So are you worried that your computer can't handle STEP? If that's it, try it. If it can't, I feel for you, if it can, YAY. As for the complexity in the guides, it's very easy to follow, both the general STEP guide and the specific guides, such as the DDSopt guide. You just have to do exactly what it says, and if you are in doubt, no one will smite you for submitting a question here:)
  11. Oh. Ok, well that's a fair bit:) How does it show itself? You can try enable papyrus logging and see if it tells you anything.
  12. Well I can't speak for the actual bug, but there are not supposed to be anything on the first Dragon kill(or any Dragon kill for that matter). Dragon Bones is a unique drop to Dragons though, so I suppose they do drop something unusual. I don't know if you have tried playing past the game ever before, but after you kill the dragon, what should happen, is that you automatically drain it's soul and learn the first part of Fuz Ro Do'h. You then try it and you can move on. It seems unlikely that this should be caused by the Unofficial Patches though, unless you have a conflict or wrong installation/load order. Also, you could clean them with TES5Edit, should you not already have done so.
  13. 1.4GB VRAM? That doesn't sound like a whole lot?
  14. Well it's a very common issue that a lot of people have. I myself didn't fix it(well if I did, it fixed itself). I circumvented it by installing the Alternate Start mod which lets you choose how to start the game. The cart scene is graphic heavy, and especially very script heavy. I don't think there is a set fix for this.
  15. Could someone list like the 10 most performance heavy mods of STEP, not counting Skyrim Realistic Overhaul and Skyrim Flora Overhayl?
  16. Yea I did that. I'm using borderless fullscreen though, due to having some weird kind of lag(not FPS drop) when in fullscreen. But if I turn my screen resolution down to 1600x900 and turn ingame resolution to 1600x900 it is nice. Better FPS and hardly noticeable at all. It looked horrible only when my game resolution was 1600x900 and my screen resolution was 1920x1080.
  17. I actually never noticed this. For the last part of the programs, I just have mine on the Desktop, except for the main game.
  18. Well turning down the resolution on the screen and ingame, certainly helped a bunch. I can hardly see a difference actually.
  19. Yea, it looks absolutely horrible if I just turn down the game resolution to 1600x900. This was with a 1920x1080 screen resolution, so I'll try turning that down as well and see if it changes.
  20. But wouldn't that be a problem? My screens standard resolution is 1920x1080, and it's a 17.3" screen.
  21. I have AA on 4 I think and AF max. The rendering is absolutely horrible if it's not. I will try benchmarking, and no, I haven't tried that.
  22. Hi all! So I have had some performance issues ever since I installed STEP. I acquired a decent gaming laptop in October last year: GeForce GTX 760m 2GB VRAM i7-4702MQ 2.2GHz Turbo Boost mode 3.2GHz 8GB DDR3 RAM 1920x1080 resolution I do not have a single graphic mod outside of STEP where I have all, except Skyrim Realistic Overhaul(I do use all the Lite versions the Skyrim HD, optimized with DDSopt),Skyrim Flora Overhaul, The Skyrim Distance Overhaul and the newly added aMidianborn Content "something"(can't really remember the name). I have optimized all the vanilla and highresolution textures of the DLC's. I have optimized all the suggested mods in the DDSopt guide. My uGridstoLoad is =5(I think. I have the default setting, which I believe is 5). I wanted to ask which mod I could remove that would make a performance boost, and hopefully not be too noticeable. I was thinking about some of the many different Enhanced Terrain mods, since the FPS hit is hardest when I my vision is not blocked by, say a nearby mountain(which makes sense I suppose, with the vanilla game as well). Also, FPS drops when I am in foggy or bleak kinda climates. These are not constant but are often found in the area that Markarth resides in, which I can't remember the name of(or for instance, the area after the Bandit tower during your first walk to Ivarstead to meet the Greybeards, often appear bleak and foggy/smoggy) I might just overestimate my computer, but when I minimize the game and check, my CPU is at least never really burdened that hard. And I find my GPU decent as well(highend laptop GPU actually). Mainly I want to emphasize on the removal of mods that might not do a whole lot(at least for close view) but tends to eat up the FPS of mediocre laptops. ~Sincerely Halde
  23. Ok thanks:) I suppose this set me back to having to check all the mods again:P
