Drastic slowdown in very specific locations
rootsrat replied to Phyrre56's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ok, you can rule out ENB as a potential culprit then. You shouldn't really have such problems with your rig to be honest... - Please post your load order (in [ spoiler] [ /spoiler] tags with no spaces pls). - Do you use any non-STEP mods? - Just to confirm - you use optimizes 1K resolution textures for exteriors? -
Drastic slowdown in very specific locations
rootsrat replied to Phyrre56's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Switch off your ENB in game (Shift+F12 by default) and see if the issue persists. If so, then it's probably mesh/texture problem. If it goes away, then it's your ENB. We can troubleshoot further from there. -
This is certainly incorrect information, iHUD has nothing to do with fire shader... This is certainly incorrect information, iHUD has nothing to do with fire shader... Yeah, my bad, corrected now.

MO downloads handling and the new Nexus subdomain system.
rootsrat replied to Dynalisia's question in Mod Organizer Support
I would stick with MO milkytoast. Be patient, this issue will be sorted for sure. It's definitely not worth to switching to NMM, trust me on this one :) -
MO downloads handling and the new Nexus subdomain system.
rootsrat replied to Dynalisia's question in Mod Organizer Support
Nexus website is down today, on and off all day pretty much. They are making a major change to their domain system, see here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12217/? EDIT: Ah, sorry, just seen your P.S. Your problems may be due to the domain system change, see here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=4282&pid=59906#pid59906 Not sure how MO will behave in this situation, Tannin or one of the MO support guys would have to confirm. I'm moving this back to the Support forum for their attention. -
Unfortunately it's not that simple. Patching requires certain knowledge about Creation Kit and how the mods are structured. What given records do (as the names are not always as indicative as "Water Height"). Sometimes you have to choose which mod functionality you want to get, sometimes you have to change the values to something that is not in ANY of the mods you're patching, i.e. when merging 2 sets of perks given to an NPC by 2 different mods, where 1st mod gives them 2 perks and 2nd mod gives them 5 perks, the total number of perks would be 7 perks, which is a totally different number to both mods have, and therefore this record would show as conflict in TES5EDIT, where technically it's not a conflict, but a valid and true entry. Or when 1 mods gives an NPC a new armor, and the other gives them a cloak - you merge them, so that the NPC gets both the new armor and the cloak, but then in game it looks awful, as both don't fit together, or clip or whatever else :) There is a lot to it to be honest, but you get better with practise.

I'm officially building my Rig! one part at a time, help required
rootsrat replied to Dweedle's topic in Step Banter Inn
Excellent website! Why Phenom II X6 are not included though? Strange... -
Yes. It's a long and tedious process if you have a large modlist, but it will ensure your mods work as intended and better stability. I would recommend making patch(es). If you change mod's ESP, then you have redo it each time this mod gets updated. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

You can load up ALL your modlist into TES5EDIT and check for errors on a full set up you have. That's what I do usually.

This thread is more suitable for Banter Inn, rather than Skyrim forum. Moving. -
Water Height records are a bit weird, I've heard that Bethesda introduced different valued across the DLCs for default water height. I am not an expert in this matter. Personally, I never change a record that a given mod should not theoretically change (i.e. sound overhaul mod changing water height - it doesn't make sense).

Hodilton made a nice video describing all the changes, cracked morse code and deciphering the messages on that site. I can't link it now though, as they block YouTube at work :P You can find it on his YT profile.

The only thing is, I'm using SkyRe at the moment :) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk -
Both meshes from this mod conflict with USKP (it also provides meshes for falmer chests).

ACCEPTED Consistent Older People (by Winterlove)
rootsrat replied to Kelmych's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'd prefer elves to stay old too. They do get older, it takes much longer than humans, true. But that doesn't mean that there couldn't be old elves in Skyrim, no? Why wouldn't there be? Are there only young elves in Skyrim? Where are the old ones then? In some kind of elves care home? :D BTW, Orcs and falmer are elves too (mer). Does "no elves" file exclude old orcs too? Purple Fluffy Pine Tree Issue

Skylight ENB, but the version that is on Nexus is well outdated. I am currently testing the new version, that is near finish now as far as I know. Aiyen would need to confirm. -
Night Vision is not working with ENB
rootsrat replied to flvinny521's question in Post-Processing Support
I'm moving this thread to ENB Support forums, as this is not Requiem problem at all - it's the ENB itself. Which ENB are you using? Some of the configurations render nightvision ineffective. -
Speaking of Amiga games, I have to also mention Centurion. Such a brilliant strategy game! Oh, North and South was genius 2 player game too! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Not to worry, it's easy to make an error like that. I've reinstalled STEP so many times now that I just remember little things like that :D Glad you got it sorted. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk -
Which ENB are you using and why?

I'll post some screenshots, if Aiyen's ok with it. I'll let him comment on the ETA for Skylight as well :) Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
