  1. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49294/ Fairly new addition to Nexus. An interesting take on player death. There are quite a few mods that change how death works in game to increase immersion, but this one takes slightly different approach: So it kind of gives you "another chance" without any of the complicated stuff that the other mods of this knid offer (knocking you unconcious, removing your gear etc...). I really like this simple idea, it sounds plausible! The author also states:
  2. I have experienced VERY similar issues with it. I've had a very stable mod set up. I won't describe all my experiences with this tool, too much writing and I'm at work. In summary - I do agree that it can corrupt your saves! It would also appear that the longer you play with it, the more frequent CTDs. I also believe this tool was not tested enough and is not safe to recommend it for people to install in STEP 2.2.8. I therefore call for Admins and Release Coords to seriously rethink this addition. I would not personally recommend to use this, but: The way I use it at the moment is that I haven't got it installed and whenever I get an ILS, I just check it in Mod Organizer and when the faulty transition loads (as the tool DOES prevent ILS, that's not questionable), I save my game, quit and deactivate the mod in MO again. I've only started doing it recently, after my old save was destroyed by this mod and this method seems to work. Note I have it configured to work only in loading screens and not in game.
  3. "Installation file no longer exists" means that there wasn't the downloaded archive available. As you have re-downloaded the mod, the archive was there again. As for the other message, maybe the file from that particular server on Nexus was corrupted? Try downloading the mod manually (don't forget to Query Info when it's downloaded). 4. You shouldn't have any problems with the string files... I would suggest re download the mod and re install Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  5. I'll be brief, as I'm at work (sadly, but being paid time-and-a-half is motivating enough) :) 1. YES 2. As far as I remember, YES, but not 100% sure 3. It means the given record is inserted. What are the implications, I do not know. 4. That's beyond my knowledge.
  6. What language version of Skyrim do you use?
  7. As of now, it doesn't. I'm 100% sure.
  8. The only one I know of is Economics of Skyrim, but it's quite buggy. There was another one that I think offered something similar, but it added a new merchant to Dragonsreach, which wasn't very lore friendly, let alone convenient.
  9. I've had a look at the load order you posted. Quite a modlist you have there... But anyway. The CTD on a main menu screen (before the menu loads) is 99% of times an indication that one of the ESP plugins in your load order is missing a master file. It could be that you have updated a mod that provided that masterfile and the filename was changed. It could be that you have updated a mod and forgot to run BOSS and that master file was placed at the bottom of your load order (master files have to be placed above the dependant files, at all times). It could be that you have removed a mod... If you however loaded up TES5EDIT and it loaded everything, that means all the master files are in place. As you use so many non-STEP mods it will be hard to figure out what happened. Did you try Wrye Bash as I suggested?
  10. Alternatively run Wrye Bash and check which of the ESPs has dark red coloured tickbox - select it and in the right hand pane there will show which master files are missing for this plugin.
  11. You can do it in TES5EDIT, just need to find the right message and Copy and Override to a new ESP file, editing as you please.
  12. Hm... I see your point. I am a lore purist to some extent myself. But maybe...! The Jarl of Markarth ordered his people to PAINT the whole city white, as he was fed up with the dull grey colour and wanted for his city to look prettier? There is always a way to explain little things like that in role play terms, without breaking the lore ;)
  13. I'll try it tonight, thanks for the tip.
  14. I agree that it's a bit "bassy", but it's the best sound mod around, it really kills it! Everything sounds really good. The only other comment I would have is that dialogue is a bit too loud and it doesn't fade away naturally, I can hear people talking loudly from a distance that the voice should already be slowly fading off... it may be only my impression though. Playing on stereo speakers (2.1) of mid range quality here, but they're very well configured.
  15. You can use ENBoost, by Boris, ENB creator to allow to skip over the infamous 3.1 GB "termination". See here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=3011
  16. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49693/? Fresh upload. Improves gemstone dragon claws. DUH! No brainer at all, and the claws look really good on screenshots. Need to confirm how well they look in game though. Compares:
  17. Apologies, my mistake, I didn't notice the link in the OP :) Allowed myself to edit the OP slightly, so that the link is more visible.
  18. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44115/? This is such a simple fix, and yet so awesome! I think it would fit STEP:Core perfectly. Any thoughts? ::EDIT:: Wrye Bash merges it into Bashed Patch. It's a pure winner to me :)
  19. You don't. You have to manually install it to the actual game directory. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  20. I think I recall Gopher mentioning that this actually does help even for default uGrids settings, but he based that statement on information he's read somewhere else I think. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  21. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49612/? Just found this on Nexus. It may be worth to do a comparison to the current STEP circlets texture mod by Yuril... Any thoughts? MT Notes Screen comparesElegant Circlets 2k MT Notes:To Do Notes: This mod adds new models as well, so both textures and the models need to be evaluated against STEP's current mod. There are 1k and 2k versions, STEP should look at 1k.Screens by rootsrat here.
  22. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31733/? Markarth retexture. Looks interesting on the author's screenshots, to say the least. Whether is fits in game in other texture packs we all use? Good question!Â
  23. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49032/? Fresh upload :) This mod brings back spell creation altar. It does it in an immersive and thought out way, being also well balanced. Judging by the mod description. You don't just get access to the altar straight away either. You have to complete a quest first, and a few conditions must be met before the quest will activate: Some more quotes from the modpage:
