GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
redirishlord replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Gotcha, I'll give her the axe. In other news ... King of the Ring by Someguy2000 (very excited he's back). Now that I look, it seems like all his stuff may have updates, time to exacerbate the Nexus download congestion. -

SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems

Great response, as a GTX 670 user I appreciate it. Interesting feedback on ReservedMemorySizeMb=128, I had been using a higher value but I'm going to give your 128mb a try and see how it plays. Full disclosure, love Vividian but currently using Serenity. -

In other news ... I see that Enai Siaion has published a sequel to Dwemerverse, Dwemertech - Magic of the Dwarves. Since Spectraverse is included in the REGS lineup, I thought you might want to take a look at this. It does bravely push beyond the bounds of lore in what sounds like a pretty ambitious way, check out the description page. -

I guess I should be called a REGS-lite user; I don't have 13oranges, Fight Against the Thalmor or Interesting NPCs installed. I do use Inns & Taverns (without Realistic Room Rentals). I've downloaded and installed TES Arena Frontier, as part of a conflict seeking playtest run I'll attempt to see what conflicts arise between ETaC, Inns & Taverns & TES Arena Frontier. i love the throwback to previous TES lore, specifically towns & forts from the Arena map. I know 13oranges covered that subject in his work, but it doesn't seem to be actively supported, so I have high hopes that this can become a worthy successor. -

Skyrim Distance Overhaul from STEP, if you take a look at its thread I believe there's a discussion regarding performance impact. The Morthal swamp appears to be especially demanding. -

SDO? I hear it likes to swing its weight around in Morthal swamp. -

Galadreal did some great work there. I haven't toured it fully yet, but the Lakeview basement is impressive, I look forward to re-acquiring Breezehome (perhaps Hjerim is finally worth the duckets?). -
Sounds like you have a solid setup. Hard to say just what caused the cart frakas. If you want to investigate further you might try installing Convenient Horses and activating its script latency checker through the MCM, that would let you know if too many scripted mods are causing the issue. If one of the non-STEP mosd you added was Helgen Reborn, that's sure to cause problems if installed before any initial Helgen business is concluded (pro tip: wait until after completing the quest "A Daedra's Best Friend" before activating Helgen Reborn due to pathing issues). If you installed Touring Carriages that might be a factor ... maybe even Better Fast Travel, you might check those individual pages for more details. Regarding enblocal, you can adjust that to more than your 3gb. I have 2gb vram & 16gb ram, so I use a max value of 10240 in enblocal (min value 512).

Well put, just like I don't need a 2k beard I don't expect to miss 2k boots (especially since I'm trying to inflict kempo style justice on my enemies not perform screen archery, although someone using the game to create a rogue's gallery of character portraits would no doubt think differently). Thanks again for the advice. -
Alternate Start Live Another Life is a great option as stated above. If you select "I got caught crossing the border illegally" you take the cart ride, but after character creation and your various scripts initializing, which may be enough to sort your problem. Otherwise the "camping in the wilderness" option places you on the other side of the Helgen tutorial, just enter the cave and select a new best friend to continue the vanilla run to Riverwood. There are also several other options worth exploring (start as a Companion in Jorrvaskr, etc.).

SKYRIMLE Leazers Open Lock 2_0 by Leazer425
redirishlord replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
So, an alteration spell that acts as your lockpick, but still affects/is effected by lockpicking skill? That plus the other options sounds interesting. I do like the nostalgia aspect of the open novice/apprentice/etc lock spells, it reminds me of Morrowind days. -
SKYRIMLE Hidden Hideouts of Skyrim by lesi123
redirishlord replied to razcor's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This sounds great, especially the deep immersion option. I pretty well set for housing with Aemer's Refuge/All Homes Remodeled/Druid's Den/ETaC (now renamed Carl's Crabcake Emporium due to pending merger with Immersive Settlements &/or whimsy, I guess?) but inconspicuous city entrances that may or may not be populated while I'm on the way to create bedlam sounds excellent. Do you know if the wilderness hideouts sync up with existing or SIC added bandit encounters (perhaps causing the conflicts mentioned above)? -

redirishlord replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
re- Breezehome Fully Upgradeable; have you seen the All Homes Remodeled by Galadreal? As the title implies it remodels and improves all the vanilla homes with (wait for it) one esp. Oh, there's also cheese. -
I believe that's correct. I use Mozilla Firefox to access these forums, but I have IE around for programs that insist on it, like LOOT. I no longer get that message about those 6 ITMs, but I'm not sure exactly what fixed it (TES5Edit update, LOOT update, IE update, MO update ... so many updates). LOOT is working great for me, even better now that I've got a handle on the drag & drop rules option (load my merged plugin of Alternate Start LAL options after Alternate Start LAL.esp, etc.).

Cant run fallout new Vegas with mod organizer OH NOO!
redirishlord replied to hamburgerhelperman's question in Mod Organizer Support
My install looks like this E:SteamLibrarySteamAppscommonFallout New VegasMod Organizer So MO is within FNV. My Skyrim is set up similarly (yes each game needs its own MO install). Each has their own shortcut, so it all goes to plan. I suppose if you already have mods installed in your MO for FNV directory you could just move the Mod Organizer piece to your new FNV directory and be fine. -
It is mentioned, but you have to follow the link "detailed instructions available" and its on the next page, easy to miss if you assume you don't need detailed instruciotns (like me).

Make sure your SteamAppsCommonSkyrimDataSKSESKSE.ini contains [Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 launch through skse_loader.exe (ideally from within Mod Organizer) and you're good to go.

Lydia has picked up an Invisibility power in Sneak
redirishlord replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
I had that same "issue" (I guess its a feature), unchecking the EFF "sneak invisibility" option will take care of that, but not right away (maybe my scripting was slow, there was a bandit battle in the offing) give it a little time to sort itself. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
redirishlord replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Another batch of great advice Nearox, I'll pick up those textures later today. This really extends the STEP Core principal of having a stable base to mod from for me. Then I can through specific high res mods into the mix to slow things down (until I get distracted by the next shiny object). Thankfully MO makes texture swapping a plug & play affair. I just need to get all this stuff DDSopt-imized and archived. -
SKYRIMLE Argonian Fins (by Chilean Wolf)
redirishlord replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Agreed, dreads in no way lore friendly (but look good on me), the fins however seem quite proper. I need to check in game and confirm that npcs are sporting them & I'm curious how Horns are Forever interacts. -
Legendary Unofficial Patch???

It would certainly be more convenient for updating (I'm selfishly thinking for me, but probably several times over for them). -
Legendary Unofficial Patch???
redirishlord replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I believe the new game reference was in regard to the one time switch from multiple/individual unofficial patches to the legendary patch. -

Thanks for that, and now I've finally registered on the Beth forums so I can check that box on my to do list. Oh, yeah, voted yes for unified. Legendary up people.
