  1. Hm, possibly. But I would hardly call it irreversible damage. That's just blowing things out of proportions. I could fix it with TES5Edit in under 5 minutes (most of which would be loading the plugins and loading+saving the game).
  2. I don't understand how a simple game setting can be harmful in any way. The moment you uninstall the mod(s), the values are reset to default. There are no scripts or anything. Either it's me or the author who is missing something. edit: Incompatible with ETaC = instant pass.
  3. I have recently noticed the rain splashes... by accident. It's pretty cool even if not very noticeable.
  4. Only for relatively short period of time from what I heard. Definitely not indefinitely. I hope it won't turn out the way people fear it would.
  5. I see the Dragonborn addon is not beta anymore. Can we get the merged version now? :)
  6. Looks interesting, but it takes a lot of detail away from the vanilla texture. It's still better than the priest from Book of Silence though.
  7. Well, the problem is it takes away a key from you. I use F keys for SkyUI's equipment, and this by default already binds something to F4. That's bad. There's no way to get rid of it. Rebinding it to something else isn't really a solution. By overcomplicated I mean a bit too many features (but that's just an opinion). I have to give this a go.
  8. Hey, there are people who never finish the game :P I have 825 hours on the record and farthest I ever progressed was visiting the Greybeards once (jesus, I played for over 800 hours in less than half a year, what's wrong with me)
  9. I don't understand why so many people are freaking out about this. You DO want to install ALL updates no matter what. Unless you are a masochist of course. Sometimes all those vulnerabilities are not even fixed quickly enough and you'd even want to be able not to install them? :P edit: Oh you mean all the crapware that usually appears under optional updates in Windows 7? Then I agree. I hope it only applies to fixes and not new "features". I'm sure I would instantly reinstall Windows 7 if I realized I had shitty useless half functional drivers from WU forced on me.
  10. I have that mod and 1) it's unnecessarily overcomplicated, 2) it has harcoded save key which you can't unbind (rebinding doesn't make it any less annoying for me), which is pretty annoying.
  11. How customizable is Start menu in the latest builds? Is it possible to eliminate the colourful metro rectangles and make it at least look (if not work) like in Windows 7?
  12. Ha, I knew it was a good idea to keep it rather than installing the version from RF :P https://www.mediafire.com/?oyav801a6264yps
  13. That reddit's style makes me dizzy. I survived about 10 minutes of looking at Windows 8 (even when switched to the supposedly classic desktop - the Metro is everywhere anyway, in some shape or form). I am actually more and more scared of Windows 10 as the release date closes in. I know I want to use it, but I'm afraid I won't be able to.
  14. https://www.boredpanda.com/cute-dragons-illustrations-lynton-levengood/ :P
  15. I get that, but there still has to be a healthy amount of common sense. Microsoft never had this, unfortunately.
  16. I just cannot understand why is Microsoft trying so hysterically to force people away from what has been working THE BEST for like 15 to 25 years (Start menu and the entire interface). You're not even given a choice. Windows 8 is a failure and they are still adamant about forcing that shitty interface into our faces. It doesn't matter that NOONE with a PC uses a touchscreen and the amount of colourbrlind people is really, really low. What pisses me off about Microsoft the most is how they simply know better what people want. If Windows 10 turns out to be even half horrible as Windows 8 (+with a design meant for stoned, drunk and retarded at once), I'm sticking with Windows 7 despite any performance improvements and Dx12.
  17. Question: Why are there two threads about this?
  18. I guess it largely depends on load order. This is an interesting approach though, might just do that to be safe.
  19. The TrueWeaponsLvlLists plugins are not really needed though, right? I think I read somewhere it's meant to help carry those records towards the end of load order so bashed patch gets them, but in my game the records were picked up regardless whether one of these plugins was present or not.
  20. Ah nevermind, I forgot you probably have everything packed in BSA in STEP. I have the optimized hires textures as loose files and DynDoLOD works just fine.
  21. Does this still apply? I thought it was proven the output was identical if the files were installed somewhere. Also, are the steps describing that textgen thing something specific to STEP? I don't remember seeing this in the manual. What does this actually do?
  22. How is your version different? It's one number somewhere.
  23. Ah. You should have said that in the first place. Nothing wrong with working with what you personally are the most familiar with (I wouldn't even know how to start Linux). The way you put it it gave the wrong impression.
  24. Sorry this is one of the most stupid things I've read in a long time.
  25. I sure did hope it wasn't what it sounded like. This is much better news.
