  4. I had always installed COT just because it was popular before. I've been playing without it for awhile now. I honestly can't say I notice much difference, as I'm not one to look up at the weather overmuch, being too busy killing vampires.

  6. So, moving BSAs to a ramdisk improves performance? That's news to me. At anyrate, Mod Organizer's form of archive invalidation does not allow you to do that. You would have to disable archive invalidation and invalidate it yourself somehow, if that is possible even.

  9. Brawl Bug Patch is unnecessary with Enhanced Blood. Simply deactivate Brawl Bug Patch.

  11. I have all his mods in my tracking list. Want to test them all eventually. There were two, however, that simply his me as not for me. But he has several versions, so that may change, whatever. Just saw one in a loadscreen and see I'm going to have to test varying resolutions, as the 1k version was a little washed out on it. The pic here is the 1k version, and it looks okay. This mod definitely does look like it would fit in with the Vivid Landscapes style. The textures I'm using besides in these shots are from STEP 2.2.9. I was saying I'm not sure what the author was using, as his rock face is totally different, and I doubt it's SRO. Too little improvement? Meh. It's the little things we like. I just don't think it is an improvement for STEP. It's not a bad texture. It looks good. I just think AMB is better. If it were part of an all-in-one, and we added it, I wouldn't be mad if it were included, like I was for some of the AMB textures recently
  12. Discussion thread: Spicy Skyforge by AnTiWoMaAgNoT Wiki Link This mod alters the textures of Skyforge in Whiterun. Compares I just took since this is so easy to test... HRDLC > SRO > AMB Whiterun > Spicy Skyforge Analysis: HRDLC: Official texture. Looks okay. SRO: Looks like the same as HRDLC to me. AMB Whiterun: Slightly darker, which seems to more closely match surrounding stone texture. Breast has a less bumpy and thinner-veined normal, which is more realistic for an eagle's feathered breast. Feather neck is more rocklike, but retains the feather look. The head feather strands mirror the breast with less bumpy and thinner-veined realism. Tail feathers are just a little thinner. Design near eagle's feet is shifted slightly downward. Spicy Skyforge: Much, much more stony. Darker than AMB. Much rougher stonework. Design near eagle's feet is not clear, but simply rough. Edge of skyforge (look at bottom center) is chiseled. I'm preferring AMB Whiterun. Placing in testing, however, as it is better than HRDLC and SRO, and others might have a different opinion. Please note surrounding rock texture on mod author's photos is not from his mod. Not sure which rock retexture it is, however, but I'm thinking SRTO Mountains.
  13. Actually, if a file that is supposed to be there is already present, it will not download the file. So, do you have two Steams as well (I don't think so)? If only one Steam, use the Steam one. How to tell? Launch Steam, right-click Skyrim in your Library, go to Local Files, and Browse Local Files. The location it opens is the Skyrim installation Steam is using. Keep that one; remove the other one. Set up your tools to use that one. Make certain you have all the files you want. Only large ones necessary are the BSA files. If you have all the BSAs, you have pretty much everything, and a download via verify game cache won't be large.

  15. Unfortunately many mod authors don't fix these errors. Even Skyrim.esm is full of them, which USKP has slowly been fixing.

Unofficial High Resolution Patch update v1.1.8 - (2014-07-31) Mesh and Texture Fixes 3 floor pelts have inverted normal map channels causing the hair to look like it's pointing downward to the floor. (texturesarchitecturefarmhousepelt01_n.dds, texturesarchitecturefarmhousepelt02_n.dds, texturesarchitecturefarmhousepelt03_n.dds) (Bug #15858)Doesn't affect STEP since we use AMB farmhouses for those textures. Would be interesting to compare them now that is fixed.
  18. Did you have Helgen Reborn.esp active since the start of the game? If so, that most likely is the problem. It is not the amount of mods that is scary. It is the amount of heavy mods that is scary.
  19. Since we have permission, we should see about optimizing the textures with DDSopt as necessary.
  20. If all it needs are the registry keys, than simply do a notice like I do for Mod Organizer and change it for DDSopt: Warning:Before launching DDSopt, launch the game at least once so all configuration settings are available.
  21. For core, don't use any, and for Extended, use SDO, Still need to update mod page, but haven't because I haven't updated yet.

  23. Too many mods. That loadorder is just scary.
  24. Get rid of BetterQuestObjectives-ThievesGuildRequirementsPatch.esp. It is no longer necessary. Dynamic Fires is buggy and is not recommended to be used. Are you running LOOT via MO sort button? It still isn't sorting STEP Extended Patch correctly. Sort through LOOT application. In your current load order, it needs to be below at least NonEssentialChildren.esp, Paralyze.esp, and Radiant and Unique Potions Poisons and Booze.esp.
