That's all good, but sounds like you have to do this for each individual update and after it's installed. It's not a "switch this off" to disable all automatic updates. Not ideal at all, but at least it's something.

I got Windows 10 clean installed late last night. Later today I'm going to work on getting everything set back up. Will advise on the journey.

I just did the upgrade and it's pretty easy. Probably the easiest upgrade MS has ever had.

 

I have better compatibility between ENB and Nvidia Optimus. That was first thing I noticed. I think that lead to better performance with ENB active. There was about a 5 FPS increase overall.

Were you using Windows 7 or 8/8.1 before you upgraded?

I've pre-downloaded all my drivers and am downloading the upgrade now. Created two different rescue drives just in case.

Don't forget to NOT use express settings post install... unless you want your WiFi passwords shared with contacts and other less than desirable things.

You brave guinea pigs you. Look at you go! Haha! Who waited for the confirmation to upgrade and who forced it with the method posted?

I thought that you had to have an account to certain stuff, like facebook and skype, before it could share your wifi settings. I don't use anything like that so it's sharing w/e, but it's with no one. Plus, I turned all that stuff off first.

 

The installer updated most of my drivers, so I didn't even have to bother with it.

I'm not entirely a guinea pig. I have it set on a beautifully separate partition just for the test

I am not brave enough to jump yet.  I will keep Windows 7 until I do a hardware upgrade at the level of motherboard or get some nasty virus or some weird system corruption.  Those are the only things that will make me choose to upgrade.

Might also disable sending parts of updates to other users. It's on by default.
