frihyland Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Discussion thread:Nitpick by shadeMeWiki LinkEnhances the ini loading ability of skyrim past 256 character limit and more importantly eliminates directory thrashing by the engine and related ctd's and performance issues.
MadWizard25 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Ok, thanks for this one. Very happy you brought it to my attention :) Dont have enough time atm to check for great mods that slipunder the radar.
Neovalen Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Is it confirmed that it gets rid of the hd thrashing? If so that would be amazing, the description doesn't list it though.
frihyland Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 yes its a side effect of the other fixes, the author was unable to confirm the directory thrashing in the first place so he didn't list it.
LeetMiniWheat Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 More info on directory thrashing here. ShadeMe posted the first version of Nitpick in post #59 (before uploading to Nexus, I'm guessing). People were reporting that it reduces the tens of thousands of disk reads to nonexistent files and such. For those of us with 100+ mods, this is definitely hundreds of thousands of wasted disk reads when loading stuff.

LeetMiniWheat Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Yeah and the official Nitpick thread is here, I just saw frihyland on that thread too. Hopefully the author keeps this updated for the major updates.
Kelmych Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 The author posted an update (Nitpick 40) for Skyrim 1.7.7.0
frihyland Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Shademe is my hero One more small update for Nitpick, a little resource for mod authors. Verlet Physics for capes, I hope Noodles and Nivea have the time and skill to use it.
eberkain Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/473728-mod-organizer/?p=7783427 Tannin says this is not compatible with Mod Organizer.
Eliian Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Yeah. It was causing many issues for me. Can affirm that.
Neovalen Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I run it with Mod Organizer for months... no issue at all... hrm.
TechAngel85 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 No issues here. Be sure you update it for game update 1.9
TechAngel85 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 It is no longer needed. WB users will still want to use it, but MO has the fix integrated into the program itself.
