Kuldebar Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I took the plunge getting ready to start a new game ( I start a new game whenever I make any drastic mod changes, it sucks but not worth the risk ). I disabled/changed out all the RND and related stuff: Collect water from wells - RND CompatibleWater From Wells - Dragonborn RND VersionW.A.T.E.R - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux RND Tastes a Bit Salty! VersionMy goal is that Isoku's mod will be a lot more streamlined then RND...To be clear, RND has never caused me an issue of any kind that I can attribute to it. I am not a hardcore survival player, but I do disable fast travel and want there to be an in-game reason to eat, drink and sleep...otherwise why have that stuff cluttering up the game? I like Isoku's design approach and trust his scripting skills to pull it off.
Noobsayer Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The downsides for raw food have been bumped up quite a bit, as well as severity of the penalites. Haven't had a chance to test it ingame w/ the new changes, just throwing it out there.
Noobsayer Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Haven't tested the latest version yet, but some nice changes -- including the option to remove vanilla foodbuffs.Latest changelog:Added option to disable vanilla food effects. This feature requires SKSE 1.7.0+. You can now click on empty waterskins near the base of waterfalls to refill in addition to using the Drink Hotkey. Added skooma effects. Moved waterskin refill prompt message boxes with NPCs to dialogue options. "Increased damage taken" debuffs will now correctly apply to incoming spell attacks as well. Fixed an issue where Combat Increases Needs did not increase fatigue and where food did not slightly decrease fatigue. Food prices and weights, if enabled, should no longer continue increasing after game reloads from death. Differences between needs levels are now more significant. If you have a need set to anything but 4, it will reset to 0.
DanielCoffey Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 If you want a disease overhaul, try Diseased from the Nexus.
statmonster Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Disabling vanilla food effects through SKSE rather than cell edits is a big deal. One drawback to RND is the need for patching so many mods to get its food effects. If thus can be done globally through SKSE wizardry...
Noobsayer Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 That was my thought statmonster :)I have gotten much joy from RND, but no patches + follower functionality was already intriguing me from iNeeds. This last update may have tipped the scale for me :)

This last update may have tipped the scale for me :)My problem exactly, this mod is becoming superior in terms of "novelty" features that it may surpass RND for me... but I'm afraid of removing 1 billion esps and just destroying the save. I'll wait a bit longer to see if RND implements something like this, if not, I'll have a chance to test out Live Another Live. Still, it's isoku, what were you expecting? :p
Noobsayer Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I've only been messing around on a testsave so far with iNeeds :) Worth playing around with to get a feel for how it works, but yeah, I wouldn't risk breaking a real save by removing RND.
TehKaoZ Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 perseid9 has retired her mod it seems"End of Support NoteBy now I have felt obligated to support/update my mod due to its popularity, but lately it's becoming more a burden than fun, as I'm no longer playing skyrim, too many games not enough time. Now isoku has introduced iNeed, I'm sure isoku will take care of all the needs in no time, so I believe it's time for me and my mod to retire. There will be no more updates."

Besides, it's isoku xD So Live Another Life, here I come... Relative to RND, how much patches are needed?

TehKaoZ Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 iNeeds as far as I know requires no patches, it seems to be compatible out of the box. Yeah, I was a bit sad to hear of her retiring too, she has done steller work with her mods, and they are completely 100% functional in the current state. But I suppose it's good since she wants to move on. Wish their was a mod hall of fame, RND has served me very well over the years ^.^

CJ2311 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 For anyone wondering, compatibility in iNeed is handled via scripts when the game is launched, just like in Wet and Cold and Predator vision for instance.
