z929669 Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Discussion topic: Battle-Ready Candlelight Fixes by ThatSpartacusGuy Wiki Link Accepted for SE Guide (> 1.0.0) This mod does what 1st Person Candlelight Fixes does and also removes the particle glow and adjusts the candle placement, which are both arguably fixes, too. Need someone to test out in game and provide screens compares against Step default.
Eliian Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) Here is a comparison in Blackreach. STEP Battle-Ready Edited April 24, 2021 by Eliian
Eliian Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I enjoy the light being out of my face when in first person. The amount of light seems better. Less glaring, but still useful.
z929669 Posted April 24, 2021 Author Posted April 24, 2021 So the mod is the only difference in those screens? Seems like all of Blackreach looks better in the second set. Maybe the particle aura?
Eliian Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Yeah the mod is the only difference. I think it is the aura. It is very overwhelming at times. I can try out a few more places when I have the time. Out in the wild at night for instance.
z929669 Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 I think the screens you have tell the tale. I vastly prefer this mod and think it is technically a 'fix' for the gaudy particle aura of the vanilla effect. Other opinions?
joaron7 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 There is a mod called haze lights, Im not sure if it does the same fix but I think is worth a look. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/45210
z929669 Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 I looked through all of the similar mods already, and found that this one is the 'best' in addressing the 1st/3rd person issues (same as 1st Person Candelight Fix) and also removing the horrible aura. Lastly, it repositions the little floating light slightly higher so that it's not right in your FOV. All-in-all, I think it is an ideal replacement. If you find something as good or better that doesn't go too far with changing things, happy to hear your perspective. Mainly looking for feedback on whether people agree that this is preferable to 1st Person Candelight Fix.

Expand I agree the particle aura of the vanilla effect is really bad and this mod seems to improve it significantly. Downloading and installing.
Eliian Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Seems fair enough then. I did not take any screens, but I vastly prefer this mod while playing over the last week or so. I will be keeping it in favor or 1st person candlelight fix.
DoubleYou Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 We'll need to test against ENB Light I suspect.

I suspect we'll want to hide the mesh in ENB Light because I doubt it includes these fixes, unless it's replacing it entirely. Need to compare in-game.
TechAngel85 Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 ENB removes most of the haze from the glow so it really doesn't seem to be an issue. Users that don't use ENB will still have the benefits of this mod. Users that use ENB with ENB Light won't see much difference besides the bright glow in the middle of the effect is gone with ENB active. That might be our ENB settings, or just the affect ENB is having on the effect.
z929669 Posted October 15, 2021 Author Posted October 15, 2021 OK, then I think it makes sense to install this one regardless of ENB use. Keeps it simple.
