WilliamImm Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Discussion thread:Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap by William ImmWiki Link Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap is a revised version of the previous Projectile Soul Trap with Visible Impact Effect to be compatible with Acquisitive Soul Gems, while additionally being completely error free. This mod changes the Soul Trap spell to be a projectile and have a visible impact, so that you can see where the spell is going.Dropped in 2.2.8 as the Unofficial Skyrim Patch fixes this issue.
Farlo Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Moved thread to the Anthology and updated OP with "header".
WilliamImm Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 New version.v1.1 - Now that TES5Edit allows me to see VMAD (script) records properly, a few issues were fixed with some VMADS pointing to undefined references This only happened with the Acqusisitve Soul Gems compatible version. Not sure how much this would affect the game, but at least it's there. EDIT: And it turns out while I was uploading this version, someone had a issue with a common soul gem disappearing with ASG and my mod. Turns out the faulty VMADs were the culprit. (For the record, this is the relevant discussion. It starts here and goes onto the next page.)
Nearox Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Hey WilliamImm, I noticed in the USKP 2.0 changelog the following fix: "The Soul Trap spell lacked a visual projectile when cast due to having the wrong delivery type set. (Bug #12938)" I'm wondering how this will affect the functionality of your mod (not beta testing uskp 2.0 myself because im finally doing a playthrough after months of modding).
WilliamImm Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 If you use Acquistive Soul Gems, this mod is still needed because ASG does not include a fix for the projectile. At least not yet.
phazer11 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 They weren't asking about your mod and ASG, they were asking about your mod in relation to the changes in USKP (Unofficial Skyrim Patch)
WilliamImm Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 I haven't asked the USKP team about this fix yet. I'll do it soon, but I'm pretty sure it's something along the lines of my mod.
TechAngel85 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 This has been made obsolete by the USKP unless we want to keep the graphics from this mod: The Soul Trap spell lacked a visual projectile when cast due to having the wrong delivery type set. (Bug #12938)
WilliamImm Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 Or if we still want to use Acquisitive Soul Gems (which doesn't carry over the fix). I don't, I went to Smart Souls after the update.
torminater Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Has anyone of you guys confirmed that USKP does provide a soul trap projectile? In my case it doesn't and I'm wondering whether that's on my part or not. Thread for reference: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=3748
TechAngel85 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I have not confirmed; however, I know that there are issues if you don't uninstall the Beta/old version correctly. I'd uninstall, load and go to an interior, wait for 24hrs and re-save to make sure it's all cleaned up before installing the new version.
torminater Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I already tried new saves, but there it didn't work either.
WilliamImm Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 I think this is because the Soul Trap effect itself is not fixed, or only because the Soul Trap magic effect is affected and not the spell. Also, the USKP's version will have the problem I had with earlier EPSG version - specifically, soul trapping inanimate objects gives you EXP, because a condition of "IsActor = 1" was not added.
EssArrBee Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 So what are looking at in terms of usage and patching? Does anything need to be forwarded? Is this mod still required?
