MadWizard25 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Discussion thread: Celtic and Braided Rugs by Decembria Wiki Link Celtic and Braided Rugs by DecembriaLink I noticed that with all the hi-res texture packages in STEP, none of them include hi-res carpets and rugs. Works fine, lore/ setting friendly, and adds immersion since coming across a low res texture when everything else is hi-res is a bit jarring. I think this mod on its own is great, but, to cover even more carpet types, this can be used in conjunction with; Oriental Rugs by Volek Link I would recommend overriding Oriental with Celtic, which leaves 2 or so carpets out of 10 in the game oriental looking. I think this is also lore/ setting friendly, and imo the best choice. Its not too hard to imagine that some carpets have been imported from other provinces of Tamriel. These carpets are much more colorful than the vanilla ones, so if you prefer a more darker/ dirtier skyrim then this might not be that great since vanilla carpets are pretty much brownish. But i think they fit pretty well into the game. Will post before and after screenshots in a bit.
Bealdwine Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Interesting one as it always bugged me that the patterns in carpets almost disappear once Skyrim HD-2K is installed. I would have prefered a mod that simply improved/returned the original pattern style though. Celtic and Saxon/Norse style decoration did differ quite a bit (arguably the earlier Celts were more advanced in artistic decorative skills - I say arguably as I actually prefer the germanic/scandinavian styles).
frihyland Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Yeah I been using this for a while, there are a few places it looks out of place but not too many, and everywhere else is a huge upgrade.
stoppingby4now Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Those look great! This is also one of the reasons why I used banner mods early on as well. Will have to try these out.
z929669 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Ping: Marking as "included" ... ... any second thoughts?
