rpsgc Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Discussion thread:Greatsword Sheaths and Scabbards Redux by rpsgc, MadCat221Wiki Link'Greatsword sheaths and scabbards' already adds scabbards to most greatswords but it's incompatible with 'Skyrim Weapon De-LARP-ification Project' (aka 'Thinner Weapon Blades'). Not wanting to give up on any of those mods I decided to create a mod that combines both of them. You still need 'Skyrim Weapon De-LARP-ification Project' for all other weapon types so this mod should be installed after 'Skyrim Weapon De-LARP-ification Project'. (I created a new thread because the original mod is, quite bluntly, useless for STEP considering that incompatibility/conflict with a core STEP mod.) So here it is, I hope you like it. Besidilo Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I could have sworn this has been posted before. Anyway, thanks for your mod, rpsgc! :)
rpsgc Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 You're probably thinking of the original mod. But since, you know, the original clashes with a core STEP mod, I thought this one needed its own thread.
rpsgc Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 I'm trying to create an optional pack of smaller sheaths/scabbards for all the swords but I'm not sure on colour schemes. Should I make the scabbard's colour similar to the sword's colour? Or just a neutral colour scheme all around? What do you think of this? Elven Sword:Elven Swordhttps://i.imgur.com/924XX.jpg[/img] Dwarven Sword:Dwarven Swordhttps://i.imgur.com/wp0W9.jpg[/img] Ebony:Ebonyhttps://i.imgur.com/XHQ81.jpg[/img]
TechAngel85 Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I would say most are fashioned to match the make of the weapon, even if it's only remotely similar. Elven = elvenish, dwarven = dwarvensih, ebony = ebonyish scabbard. Most scabbards would probably be made of leather, wood, or the same material as the blade in that time as well.
rpsgc Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 I'm no texture artist, I do what I can with my limited knowledge and skill. I mean, should I even bother with this: Or just slap the vanilla leather holder and be done with it?

Maybe my other suggestion could be a WIP over time if you feel like it. If not, what you had above with variant colors looks just fine IMO.
rpsgc Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 I've uploaded v2 of the mod which includes only small scabbards. Let's just hope people don't hate them, as I don't expect them to love them :P
rpsgc Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 And v2.1 is up with more crappy textures by me! (well, they're technically Bethesda's) :P Doesn't it just make your eyes bleed?Â
TechAngel85 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 The second one actually matches quite well.
Farlo Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 And v2.1 is up with more crappy textures by me! (well, they're technically Bethesda's) :P Doesn't it just make your eyes bleed? Lol, those actually don't look terrible (at least they're different from just leather). You should hit up CaBaL and see if he'd be willing to skin them to match his weapons.
rpsgc Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Dragonborn optional file is up (I had it done within a few hours of DB but I had to wait for MadCat221 to update his mod, I can't edit 3D objects)
DoYouEvenModBro Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 For the boxes that say Skyrim or Skyrim Vanilla, Dawnguard or Dawnguard Vanilla and Dragonborn or Dragonborn Vanilla....which three do we choose? X or X vanilla? EDIT: Sorry, I just read the Readme. I should have done that first. We choose the NON-Vanilla options for Skyrim Weapon De-Larp right?
z929669 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Yes, use default for the thinner blades (vanilla has thick blades)
