SKYRIMLE Opening Scene Overhaul by elderscrolliangamer aka Publick Gamer
Shadriss replied to Shadriss's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just finished it out (imperial side). Didn't notice anything game breaking, but I can confirm there are a few lines that are showing subtitles, but no spoken lines (saw this twice), and the two lines (four total, depending on which Stone you choose) don't appear to be there either, as was indicated in the description. I get the IMPRESSION he may be looking at some way of getting that line in (though it was never recorded, I don't think?). Also saw a few places where the dialog and the subtitles don't match (We should split us VS. That's where I'm going, you should come with me... the latter makes SO much more sense...), but only someone who has subtitles on all the time (me) would really notice that. As to the issues I mentioned earlier, the walk-in-place bug is somehow tied to DYNDOLOD, though I'm unsure how exactly. I just turn it off until I'm inside the keep, and everything's fine. Likely, the audio starting off is tied to a mod I have somewhere as well (maybe Kill the Orchestra? It could be tied into an audio cue, perhaps...) but either way, those appear to be my line-up, not the mod. Hadvar's voice takes a small amount of getting used to, but overall I think it was done better than with the voice we are all used to... much more emotive and in place, so to speak. Just better delivery overall. If the author takes care of those issues I mentioned above (and even if he doesn't, to be honest...) this is a REAL good addition. -

O.o Didn't think it would make it to that point, but I won't disagree... That said, a few things I noticed playing through: A) As mentioned, the voices for Lokir and Hadvar are different. This is carried out throughout the entire game (Not that there's much of any other content for Lokir...) with the exception for a line WRT the standing stones, apparently. I haven't played that far yet, so I can't confirm that as yet, but I'm working on it. I keep getting my 'walking in place' error on entry to Helgen Keep that I have problems tracking down. B) Not sure how this has/is happening, but my audio for this is starting even before the "Bethesda Presents" screen appears on game start, so all the conversation is finished long before you even get to the gate... thus the Tullius lines are completely missed, though I do catch Elenwen complaining about authority. Even that is an improvement over what was there before, but I'd LOVE to hear everything. A new version just hit the street today, so hoping the last one is addressed, in addition to the other fixes he already made. I'll drop a line in the comments on the mod to let him know about the thread... would have done it already, if I'd thought you would play this as a possible Core contender. -
I was surprised to see this on the Nexus today, as I would have THOUGHT that any cut content would already have been handled and brought back to life by CRF - apparently I was wrong, or so this mod claims. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77027/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D77027%26preview%3D&pUp=1 I haven't done anything with it yet, but it is interesting to note that both Lokir and Hadvar apparently had different voices originally... including yet another voice for Belethor's VA in Lokir's case. Figured it was worth a quick look, or at least some small amount of discussion at any rate.

ACCEPTED RUSTIC SOULGEMS (by Gamwich and Saerileth)
Shadriss replied to Octopuss's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
... also, they need to show "Eat at Joe's" in neon. But seriously, why wouldn't you want that pulse effect? -

Agreed... what kind of evil deviant wouldn't like that kind of lighting? Besides - easy fix. PICK THEM UP. :) -
As I understand it, 2.10 is still some ways off. You're safe enough benchmarking for now, especially if you share the results, as it may provide some data points for the current development.

Already looked for those, and I either deleted them outright when I installed, or they weren't there. However, in rechecking, I did miss the other texture... the comp3 texture was still active. That appears to have taken care of it. Should the normal be removed as well, or left in place, as a separate question. Also, thanks for the quick reply, Tech.

I know I've seen this somewhere before, but I wasn't able to figure out the magical combination of search terms to lead me to it. My trees are apparently rebelling like a teenage girl with hair dye. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=719231945 I'm pretty sure it's related to either SFO or Trees HD, though I haven't managed to narrow it to either one just yet. I do know it was something I saw before, but simply can't recall what or where the problem lay. If any of you remember this, could you give a guy a quick poke in the right direction? For reference: I'm using the most recent version of SFO, and the STEP recommended Trees HD. Of course, if it's a completely different mod altogether, those don't matter, but hey... trying here. :)

Think my opinion was pretty clear earlier - easy swap and replacement for current STEP mod that covers this. -
Non-staff, of course, but seconded. Even if he doesn't entirely like his own normal maps, it's a clear difference.

ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library (by DanielCoffey)
Shadriss replied to Nebulous112's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
What they said - I can't even remember when I installed it (5 seconds after it was available, maybe?), but I've never seen it really call attention to itself, which is definitely the end goal. -
SKYRIMLE Civil War Quartermasters (by BlackPete)
Shadriss replied to Nebulous112's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Not entirely true, Tech. Quartermasters were responsible for ALL supplies used in an encampment, or more specifically their distribution and accounting for. While I agree they wouldn't have to be at all encampments (many would be far to small to warrant their inclusion), there's nothing to say they wouldn't be either, as small encampments would make ideal locations for some creative misplacement of the more highly pilferable items. This one could be argued either way, honestly, but I never really saw the need for them anyhow - you spend so little time operating out of any given one that it's not really an issue in my mind. -
Immersive Content - Realistic Outdoor Lights by Necrocytosis
Shadriss replied to redirishlord's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Haven't looked at it yet beyond what's in this thread (have been busy moving across the country...) but I feel compelled to point out that there is a patch for Lanterns as well... so that by itself doesn't make it stand above the other. That said, the different styles of lantern do sound promising...- 3 replies

ACCEPTED FileAccess Interface for Skyrim Script - FISS (by Lord Conti)
Shadriss replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Inclusion yes... but at the same level as the mods that make use of it. IE, If we have a core mod that uses it, then Core... since that would make sense. Why make it Core if no Core mods use it? I say this not having gone through the list recently, but the point should still stand. -
As I recall, does he not recommend USING CCF alongside this mod? Maybe I recall incorrectly, but if that's the case, I'd say any conflict is likely intentional.

There's still your DNA for cloning purposes...

I thought Safety Load had been put on the "Burn this Mod before it burns your game" list?

Sheson apparently has a new competing demon in the neighborhood. Hide your wives, hide your kids, and hide your husbands, 'cause they moddin' everything up in here.

SKYRIMLE Bijin Wives, Warmaidens, NPCs (by rxkx22)
Shadriss replied to RustyLH's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
What he just said. I was actually surprised to see a post in here again - though I can now obviously see why. :) -
May as well - most users should be familiar enough with their own machines to know what it can or can't handle. Skyrim isn't a spring chicken anymore - it's limitations are (for the most part) known. If a user is trying to push their system to the limit with Skyrim, they most likely already know they are doing it. Core and Extended is as far as it really needs to be separated, I think.

Seems to have been removed? I see the announcement in the posts, but no files available for download. -
According to the notes - it's part of the project. ALL dwarven automatons, which means the sphere, the ballista, the spider - all of them. All that is missing, as Tech noted, is the architecture, and there are some hints in his replies to others that that is only a matter of time.
-
True, but he also said he's already talking to another modder in regards to some baseline textures to do just that. Even if it is only half the solution, it's 50% more than we have atm. :)
-
A retexture that we may have long since been waiting for, it looks like SRW0 is attacking all the Dwemer textures we've been hoping would eventually happen. It's still a WIP, so not ready for testing yet, but as something to keep an eye on, here it is. From what screens he's posted so far, it looks pretty decent.
