  1. Moved to S&P forum.
  2. That mod was updated to include those patches. I did not know that and will make changes to the guide, the STEP patch will be updated later tonight, but using the current version will make no difference in game.
  3. Umm... well it is basically a directx 9 hook dll with a bunch of other files that can change graphics and memory management in Skyrim. I tdoes tons of stuff. You get it here: https://www.enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html click the latest version then the black arrow on the next page.
  4. Were trying to get rid of the need for those extra patches with the STEP Patches. If you build your own mod list you are kinda at the mercy of the mos you select and will need to use the provided patches from the mod authors and then probably need to make your own patch from those to get every thing working correctly.
  5. You did put the Very High part in the guide and I think I moved it to the Advanced section for the tweakers.
  6. Yes, you do not need those patches with the STEP Patch, they are merged into the STEP Patch. For the Core patch there are three, and for Extended there are the three from the Core patch plus 5 or 6 additional patches that are no longer needed. Also, Waterbreating Breathless Emerge can be disable do to forwards that I made, but I forgot to add it to the readme and have been lazy about doing so.
  7. Maybe check out less intursive HUD II. I think it has the compass icon toggle in the MCM menu. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35154/?
  8. Ever wanted to alt-tab without losing your cursor? What about easily getting back into the game by clicking on the taskbar icon or using alt-tab to select the window? If you ever leave full-screen for any reason, this tool still makes getting back into the game easy peasy. Even for those who prefer full-screen, it has its uses. :) All, those things sound like something I would use. Will test it out later. Thanks for posting.
  9. When I asked about this s4n said you can't link to a subsection within a tab.Correct. the one downside to Headertabs.I'll split off the ENBoost stuff somehow now that this memory patch looks so promising and many users will just want ENBoost. That will make the whole thing much more user friendly. It'll be done by tonight.
  10. Not sure I get what you are asking, but I'll break down the patch and guide in detail. Because Skyrim is now getting old we have stop supporting users that do not have all the DLC. That does not mean you can't use STEP, and does not mean that we will not answer your questions. That would just be mean spirited. If a user does not have every DLC then they need to be aware that some mods will not be available to them because some mod authors have moved in that direction to make things easier on themselves. Also, some mods are specifically for DLC like the Realistic Crossbow Sounds mod, which requires Dawnguard. The STEP guide has a column that will list if a mod supports the DLC by showing an icon with either HF, DG, DB. If there is an icon for that specific mod and the user doesn't have the appropriate DLC then the user should check the mod's website to see if there is a version that does not require the DLC that the user does not own. This is the case for many of the mods in the STEP guide. Things like Footsteps - Ash Supplementals or Dawnguard Rune Weapons FX Replacer or Crossbow Sounds will all require Dawnguard or Dragonborn and not have a version for other users. This is due to those mods addressing things that are only in the DLC, like ash footsteps for Dragonborn or Crossbow sounds from Dawnguard, but the regular Footsteps mod and Realistic Bow Sounds will work just fine. So just keep an eye out and you will be fine. The Patches project was started after 2.2.7 released and is an attempt to create a better patched game with the STEP mods and to reduce the number of plugin slots, which also adds to stability. Due to time constraints we cannot address every DLC individually and with Steam sales every three months, people can grab the DLC cheap or the Skyrim - LE version for ~20 bucks. Because of time issues and the age of Skyrim we made a decision to only support users with all DLC for the patches. Your game will not break without it, but you will need to be aware of certain patches that will be required for your game that are usually included in the STEP Patches. Also, if using only STEP Core then use the STEP core patch, but if also using Extended then only use the STEP Extended patch. STEP Core patch is merged into the Extended patch to make it easier on you guys.
  11. We can direct people to the ENB guide for ENBoost now. I did a a little quiskstart guide with pictures. It is under the ENB section, don't know how to link to a section in a tab. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#tab=Quickstart
  12. Hey Neo, do you have an idea about what you're going to use for Solsthiem? Just going with one mod or are you going to blend a couple together? I've been trying to blend Serious HD and AMB, but I can't find the right combo, so I was wondering if you find something that jived.
  13. And of course after I finally installed the mod, Aron goes and updates it with a bunch of UV fixes right after I take these shots.
  14. Hmm... title search doesn't work for me then. I do not like the sulfur rocks add on so much. It looks like green paint, which is like the vanilla ash that looks like gray paint. In game I like the 2K Fine or 2K Dense with More Ash. All screens were more ash. The problem is that with the vanilla lighting of Solsthiem you can't see the Dense version that much since it is always overcast. 4k was overkill and that is why I didn't include it.
  15. The changes are not the same and I think USKP doesn't cover argonians or WBE doesn't cover them, I forget, but if you use the either STEP patch then it isn't necessary since all the changes get forwarded.
  16. I might be working on that at the moment, y'all just gonna gonna have to wait and see.
  17. Ash Rocks by michaelrw This mod makes proper ash out of that grayish paint splattered all over the rocks of Solsthiem. I already took the liberty of doing some screens and think it should be considered for mod testing since we are in the middle of discussing Dragonborn textures. HRDLC->Ash Rocks 1k fine->Ash Rocks 2k fine->Ash Rocks 1k Dense->Ash Rocks 2k Dense Far distance Medium distance Close Close Alternate Edit: There is optional sulfur, will do in a bit.
  18. Good info. Is this a 32-bit architecture?? Don't think so.
  19. Someone should check that out with the patch team or Alek.
  20. Don't use the STEP patches, you won't miss to much without them. There is a column for every section that has the DLC icons for mods. If there is a HF or DB then you need to check that that mod has version for non-DLC or dawnguard only. If it does cool, if not then skip that mod. You will not miss out on a ton of mods though. As far as the STEP Patches are concerned we can only support people with every DLC since Skyrim is now over 2 years old, but you missing a bunch of stuff anyways.
  21. Okay so here are the optional AMB stones for a couple of shots, only the outdoor ones and the Vivid Landscapes pictures. Not sure VL has every indoor texture covered, and it also contains meshes. Someone start a thread for that mod and move to testing please and thank you. I think that is probably everything except a few interiors textures that I haven't got to like stairs or something. AMB and VL exteriors are hit or miss for me. AMB indoors it really good, love the way it looks running through dungeons.
  22. Thumbs up for this mod. If you are testing a heavily modded setup, this is essential making notes of certain things without having to keep paper and pencil next to you at all times.
  23. We need some more testers to load up Core + Serious HD or AMB. You have to see it with your own eyes. Even try SRTO and go to Tel Mithryn and the area just west where the craters are. Those are the best areas for the ash textures. Go to Raven Rock for the road, Bloodskal Barrow for tundra type 1, and eastern coast right before the snowy areas for tundra type 3. In Raven Rock look at areas where ash piles are on top of tile and you can get an idea of the way the ash is done. Serious HD seemed the most ashy, while all the others were almost like gray pebbles. I'll do as many screens as I can, but you gotta see some of these in game so you know how lighting in game will hit these things. Each one bounces light off of it differently, it is subtle but still different.
  24. Telvanni Reborn textures are not new textures. I opened them up in Paint.NET to take a look and they are the same as HRDLC, but sharpened up a bit. I'd say just use Telvanni Reborn for all the textures it adds based on that alone. Even if it isn't an improvement over HRDLC, it is exactly the same. Just look at the big mushrooms, I couldn't tell the difference in my screens so I didn't even post them. The only thing from SRTO that was better to me was the temple walls and stairs, but why add a  mod to STEP for 2 or 3 textures? Where SRTO stands out is the landscape screens I took for ash and stones.Â
  25. Okay, I'll add them later, hopefully the nexus isn't so messed up later. Those old castles got pretty greasy and grimey. No cleaning products laying around, just a couple of brooms. I'll make note of that for later, thanks. Yes, I'm perfect, bow peasant.
