This is another mod I like that I wanted to test and never did. This week's boredom had lead me to testing all weekend, so profit for everyone else. STEP->HD Runes v1->HD Runes v2 Poison Shock Ash frost frenzy fire (Vanilla->STEP (HD Fire effect)->HR RUnes v1->HD Runes v2) I like these.

MO is super quick and lets you look at every version that is installed at once. Going through the data folder is bit annoying, but not a deal breaker.
-
2.2.9 is in active development, so you can use it, but we can give support for it since it will be changing over the next week or two as we finalize testing and stuff. Order of mods could change, the STEP Patches may change, and new mods could be added. 2.2.9 Core is probably safe to use even if we add some new mods, Core doesn't get the type of mods that require you to start a new game. Also, I moved this to general S&P.

Paint.net works for me. Also, go to the data tab in MO and you can see every version of a texture if you right click->preview.

Dragonsreach, lots of rugs but it is a castle after all. Lots of wood too. HRDLC->STEP (detailed rugs and SRO I believe)->AMB I have a few more, but I think that is enough. Missing a couple roofs in the city, maybe the inside of the shops/inn, and the trellis.
-
HRDLC->STEP->AMB Going to have to do Dragonsreach in another post. I think the post limit thing on the forums is 20, might be 25 but whateve's.

Okay, we locked this thread many months ago when I got out of control and wasn't constructive. The mod has seen two or three updates since it was locked and I would like to open it up and test it properly with the newest latest version. I wasn't a huge fan of the original version, but the last couple updates improved the mod a lot. There are tons of textures in whiterun, so I'll probably have to do a couple posts. HRDLC->STEP->AMB Next post I'll do some Jorvaskr and Dragonsreach photos and I'll open up the thread for discussion. Since it has already been locked once, I'll be watching closely, so it doesn't turn into crap again.

DROPPED Stalhrim of Skyrim - Fixes (by SparrowPrince)

Accepted for Core, probably environment and landscape. I'll do some the mod page right now. -
Discussion thread: Detailing the Eldrich - Higher-Res Riekling Architecture by ObsidianStag Wiki Link These are pretty much increased res of vanilla. Not totally made from scratch I believe, but an improvement. vanilla->Eldrich low res bridge bones and skull hut tent There are some textures in vanilla that just look awful and flat. These add some depth and look much better in game.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I'll have to document that for other users. Thanks for reporting back in with that. I'll also report it to Queue so he can add something to NVAC for that area and maybe fix it for us. -
DROPPED Stalhrim of Skyrim - Fixes (by SparrowPrince)

Okay, here is the Stalhrim piles, they are purdy. The bad stretching trans ones->SP custom opacity->SP default opacity One more These are much better than vanilla, better than the other mod we were testing, and the meshes are fixed. I don't see any reason not to add these to STEP. Anyone else? EDIT: Oh, Stalhrim is supposed to rock-like, "enchanted ice" and that is exactly what this looks like. -

@phryxo, did you use the optional file for mossy stones on AMB? -
Well, I did make a really detailed list of records that touch here, here, and here. The list of records are pretty much complete, but the descriptions could use some work. Oh, and those pages only do the 2.2.9 patches, since I don't want to go back and stuff from old version, no time for that. Anyways, I don't think I want to remove things from people's mods to make a mod compatible because some users do not use the STEP Patches (stupid weirdos ). Plus, I would have to get permission to that and I've not had the best luck dealing with modders who aren't STEP members. I would like to just keep it as a patch/merged plugin for lowering plugin count. If I do some kind of big compilation type thing *hint, hint*, then I'd consider it for that.

So lossy textures are okay to be compressed a second time, but lossy/lossless sound files are not okay to be compressed a second time. That is weird one. Might be from higher compression that lossy sound files usually have over lossy textures. Nice analysis, firebro!

SKYRIMLE aMidianborn Imperial Forts (by CaBaL)

It didn't have interiors when I tested it a few months ago, but it has been updated one or twice since then. He might have gotten around to the interiors. -

Can we get some pics of the Stahlrim piles next to the crypts from Stahlrim Source on Solsthiem. It is an outdoor location in the NW part of the island. That is where the stretching in the meshes was. From the test files SP posted yesterday, I couldn't see any errors, they were just a touch bright on a cloud covered island. -

In the big album, it is AMB for me all the way. The only thing I saw where SRO was better is the wood frames that can go around doorways in a couple places. The walls with the green moss are blended so much better, though I did kinda like the darker green color SRO has. The problem was that the SRO walls with moss had this speckled noise around the moss that annoys me. The big block walls were better from AMB as well, they fit in with the floors and ceilings so much better than the ones SRO has. I just think that Beth might have messed up the walls a bit and they have this fake look to them, they are also kinda shiny which drives me nuts because there shouldn't be anything in that type of mineral that is reflective in that way unless the walls are greasy. The floors are smoother as well in AMB, which I like since these forts are old and ground would probably get worn and be smooth after years of boots walking on them. Stairs meshed better with walls as well, SRO suffers from using Beth's stuff as a base and there is just some weird lines in their stuff that has always bothered me in forts. AMB really did a good job with most of the lines and blending floors and walls together. This is one of the texture packs where Cabal definitely didn't go for the newer look. In some places it actually seems more worn than the stuff in vanilla game. Is it possible to do an ENB profile with just shadows and parallax so it only has a 5-10 FPS hit at most? Like strip everything else out of the .fx files so none of the shaders load. -
ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
He's actually been playing Skyrim (like who does that, what a loser ) and seeing things that other people don't pick up on as well as he does. I bet most of his fixes will be small things he can't stand. The ceilings of the houses in Whiterun might be his next big fix since those suck. -
SKYRIMLE Vivid Landscapes - Imperial Forts by Aron
EssArrBee replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod is excellent, but not sure it does interiors. May have been updated since I did my compares. AMB is really good except for one texture, so we could hide it. Other than that VL is tricky because it is done with parallax and kinda done for ENB. SRO forts are just tweaked vanilla in my opinion so it was always between this and AMB. I'd have to say AMB though because it does such a good job with exteriors. -
ACCEPTED Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (by kryptopyr)
EssArrBee replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I have a weird issue. For some reason when I installed The Choice is Yours many moons ago, I put the the DG file in a separate folder. Now MO tells me to put The Parthuunax Dilemma between the two. Other than that I have no errors. I did have move CCOR to fixes, move AMB CCOR to Gameplay, and had to shuffle a couple gameplay a few slots. -
ACCEPTED White Phial Replacer (by Saerileth)
EssArrBee replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I agree, Tech. This fits a bit in the category of Radiant Bottles. Just a bit to far from vanilla, but still quality work and a good candidate for STEP Extended.
