pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
EssArrBee replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Yeah, I found it. I thought I unchecked the Nernie's plugin on install. Still, my load order just looks weird after all the years of using BOSS for four games. It's so simple with STEP Core, but as things blow up it's just a mess. -
pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
EssArrBee replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Yeah, I used the no inns version for sure. I'm thinking that I either missed a patch or have something not sorted correctly. I've seen LOOT produce some very different load orders with similar userlists. -
ACCEPTED Enhanced Blood Textures (by dDefinder)
EssArrBee replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Nope. Blood mods all have scripting issues. -

I think LOOT may be giving me a bit of a problem in Darkwater Crossing. I seem to have a floating door, a big gap in the terrain, and a tree in one of the shacks. Any idea ideas which mods I probably have mixed up? It isn't really jumping out at me, but my eyes pretty much gloss over now before xEdit even finishes loading. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Gamebryo just isn't a stable engine. Creation even for all the terrible PS3 crap they had to add is better. Just count your lucky stars that all the platforms are now x86-64 architecture so future games will be better. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Lag no, I don't get that, but I do get some FPS drops in certain areas like the strip. Sometimes I get inventory lag when I have to many items and to many quests running at the time. I noticed that knocking out a few quests from the list will help with that. Also get a house and drop off you loot. -
There is a computer science term for it if you just make the error your search. Look up the search algorithms and it will be one of those. I forget the name because it's been over ten years since I learned that stuff. Oh man, did I really just say it's been over ten years since I was an undergrad. :'(

First try to put this in the arguments for the EXE in MO: -laaexe .FalloutMO.exe Just click the little icon that looks like two gears and go to the 4GB Loader executable and then click [modify] when you are done.

The latest version of the STEP is pretty much designed around MO 1.2.9, so it's smart to update.

Did I Install These Utilities Correctly?
EssArrBee replied to Member121's question in General Skyrim LE Support
E: SteamGames Steam SteamApps common Skyrim TES5Edit 3_0_32 Experimental TES5Edit.exe Should be there if you plan on using the merge script. Everything else looks good. -
So the only errors are now BYOD because it updated after the release of STEP 2.2.9 v1 patches?
-
I look it over when the game is over.

The Content Addon takes care of the need for the Skyforge weapon patch between EBQO and SoS. You end hiding the Skyforge ESP from BoS, so you can't use a patch because it would need a masterfile.

Performance trouble, though not gamebreaking(I was used to much worse)
EssArrBee replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Have you run the benchmarks? Should be easy to do with all the mods already installed. You can just disable everything and then enable one section at a time, benchmark, repeat. Also, What AA settings you running? Maybe use SMAA injector on high or medium. One other thing that really is a big burden to laptop cards is resolution. As, for the few spots where FPS drops, well, that is Skyrim. You really can't get around that with a 760M/i7 system. You can't even get around that this a 780m. -
_p.dds is a parallax map. It doesn't get used unless ENB graphics are turned on.

First one after the last one. One day we'll actually get good at making templates.

DROPPED TDN Vampire Armor Retexture (by Nightshade)
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
When I started with Skyrim I was just using my brother's account since he followed like 30 pages of mods or something and was just so lazy about creating my own account because I didn't want to track endorse everything when it was already done for me. So, I volunteer everyone else, but me, to test this mod. Since, I now have gone through two releases, it is in my power to make it so, given to me by Gozer the Gozerian. Have fun!!! Marked for Testing. -
Discussion thread: TDN Vampire Armor Retexture by Nightshade Wiki Link Looks like a proper retext of the Dawnguard armors. This Nightshade is not the Nightshade that did the skimpy mods that are so popular, AFAIK. I can't check though because the Nexus just went down again right while I was making this thread. Anyways, looks like a strong STEP candidate for testing. DROPPED The Skyrim Distance Overhaul (by Grieche)
EssArrBee replied to MadWizard25's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
There is something about moving a child reference in a plugin to the Tamriel worldspace from it's original Block/Sub-Block that eats performance. I think some others have noticed this 'bug' I guess is what it is. Convenient Horses. -
Failed to load esp file: Update.esm (invalid file type)
EssArrBee replied to FireInMalaysia's question in Mod Organizer Support
Hmm.. you may have to verify integrity of cache with Steam. Right click on the game in your library and select properties, then go to the local files tab. It will redownload all the ESMs though and any vanilla files you may have deleted. As long as you didn't delete any BSAs it shouldn't be more than 40-50 MBs. From there you can reclean anything that may need to be redone. -
SkyRe will have a Reproccer that you'll need to run similar to the Dual Sheathe Redux patcher. Instead of running both separately at the end, get SUM and in the options make sure that it does NOT run BOSS. SUM will run both patchers at the same time.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
The standard is usually to use uncompressed or lossless compressed normals at half the size of the color maps because DXT compression really sucks. The half size uncompressed actually higher fidelity in most occurrences. The 1k normals use a different options on the restraints tab in DDSOpt, so just pay attention to that. It's in the guide with pictures. I have a mid range 2Gb card in my laptop and get 45-50 FPS with 1k Exteriors for everything in Freesdie, which is pretty good for something I bought for under $600. >2Gb should probably go with Kelmych's recommendation unless it's one of the low end cards with lots of VRAM, like a card directed at the HTPC crowd that doesn't need a ton of power for coder/decoder of Bluray, but needs lots of VRAM for those huge file sizes. I haven't run into anyone like that except myself though, so if there are any HTPC nuts trying to game on their TV let me know. I might even go lower on the normal maps myself to try and get the last two sections of the strip to work a bit better. I guess it's just a mess unless you participate in the 'time honored tradition of throwing more hardware at a software problem'. -
Actually if skill interface is the only mod you leave out then you can use the core patch. It is not part of the Step core patch. I just didn't read over your post that well. If you install all of extended then you can switch to the extended patch.
