  1. I would not use the auto purge. Try the one that lets you control the purging manually. Auto purging could potentially purge things you need from the cell buffers. Only use the manual purge if input lag gets bad.
  2. I was actually going to point to the DDSopt guide for instruction on extracting the BSAs and archives to the working directory. A quick start page would probably help. I had written a bunch already, but it happen when the site got shut down so I lost it. I could probably link to parts of any quickstart page from the detailed instructions. I didn't notice any problem textures like monochromatic ones reduced to 1x1. I think I got most of those in the INI files, and if there are any more it will just have to come from actually putting in hours of play. There is really no other way to ID them since they are placed in the stupidest folders. The problem was reducing Poco Bueno made some of the ground textures a bit blurry, but I can always recommend not messing with that mod.
  3. Well, if you do the FNV mods use the batch files linked in Kelmych's post above. You can follow the DDSopt guide and replace FNV stuff for Skyrim stuff where ever applicable. When you run the files it splits mod(s) into separate folders like it does for Skyrim. NMCs seems to already be optimized, so if you can just run DDSopt to reduce the size of exterior and exterior normal maps folders and then ignore the rest. Really helps with the Strip and Freeside, I got about 10-15 FPS from doing it that way. I might even drop the normals to 512k just for a another few FPS on Strip.
  4. Poco will work with TTW just fine, any texture replacer will. I'm saying that reducing Poco textures with DDSopt from 2k to 1k didn't look right to me. I believe that tapioks designs his textures to look a certain way at a certain resolution for the most part. Probably does everything 4k and then drops them to 2k for Poco Bueno use, but going lower seems to make them a bit blurry. NMCs TTW pack removes the redundancy form his F3 and FNV packs since both games share many files, you can ask Roy Batty for more info. It pretty much reduces the size of the mods. I recommend that NMC Medium be used and that exteriors textures be reduced to 1k resolutions unless you have plenty of VRAM to spare. I have 2GB and use 1k exteriors.
  5. This mod is very performance hungry, but it looks amazing. You may just install the mod and then leave the plugins unchecked. It will still improve many things, but not be quite as performance intensive.
  6. I don't think Wrye Bash has been fully updated to use the LOOT masterlist. It isn't applying bash tags properly as of yet. I'm thinking it is IA as well that gives me issues.
  7. Well, I did use them for vanilla textures and two mods, Poco Bueno and NMCs. I only did exteriors for both to keep interiors at 2k. I hadn't noticed any issues with the textures after running around the strip, but a couple of ground textures in Novac looked pretty bad after reducing them. I think they were Poco textures.
  8. The couriers may be from Update.esm not having Delev. I also saw that Trade & Barter might need Delev for PerkInvestorWhiterunBlacksmithList [LVLI:000AC969], didn't look at the rest. I'm about to check if adding delev to AMB Content Addon fixes Jon Battle Born.
  9. You can just go to the settings icon (looks like two tools) and click Configure Mod Categories. Right click -> add new or something along those lines.
  10. Hey, I think you are right about AMB Content Addon, it needs a Delev tag because ArmorIronSetNoHelmet [LVLI:00017F20] looks wrong in my Bashed Patch. I get Jon Battle Born naked in Whiterun. Also, couriers seem to just have shoes on, but I think that may be Update.esm not having a delev tag as well.
  11. I'm thinking the same thing but I keep forgetting to dive into the leveled list to see. CCOR does not touch the actual npcs that are naked, but it messes with the leveled list they access.
  12. Well, as one of the few that puts the STEP guides together, and the author of F&L, I can tell you it is a very long and arduous process. Especially, the guides that written mostly by one person. With STEP, getting updates done take longer because they are much longer, but the process feels like much less work when there are others helping out. F&L sometimes felt like a guide I would never feel good enough about to have people use it, but after about 4 months of working on it, I finally had something. My advice would be to look up FCOM Convergence and there is guide for that. It's pretty much 4 major overhauls combined into one massively modded game. It is hard and unforgiving though if you decide to play it.
  13. Okay, I'll get an F&L page done by the end of this week (maybe) so people can start using those batch files. I did have about 25% already done when the site went down. I tried to save the page and it just gave me a 404. Even hitting back didn't restore the text, so I'll have to start over again.
  14. The script written by obsidian was incomplete or broken since they cut the content. The guy that made the mod never knew about I guess it didn't get fixed. Same thing happen with the toy sentry bot, Yuki fixed the script in YUP.
  15. Just choose the options you want or go with the STEP recommended options, but at the very end there is an option to install the half size textures. You may want to avoid the lanterns and go with the LITE fences if you need half size textures. You can use the merged plugin, but it must be extracted from the archive because the custom install does not install it. Also, you can just not use any SMIM plugins and use the STEP Combined Plugin which includes the merged version of the SMIM, unless you don't own Dragonborn.
  16. Should be on the detailed instructions of the DLC on the STEP guide in Section 2.D Fixes. You want to stick the opted textures between the DLC and the corresponding unofficial patch in the left pane of Mod Organizer. This let the files overwrite and be overwritten in the correct order. @Kelmych, do I just use the 2.75 batch files for FNV? I know the test files said 2.76. THey also had readme's for FNV and not for Skyrim, but I think they all work the same right?
  17. Just stick them in the same category they are in STEP, i.e. armor and weapons in the equipment section. I suggest making copy of your step profile and then adding in other mods so you can always revert back.
  18. Core are the mods with the green bar next to them on the step guide. We are removing the extended mods in the next version of step to help streamline the guide. Just install everything in the guide and you get step core and extended.
  19. Nv uncut is okay except for the Betsy the Brahmin mod. I will not be doing the PN FOOK convergence since it is basically a guide in its own right.
  20. One of the reasons you get input lag is that my guide is just so awesome that FNV doesn't really crash anymore. Long play sessions= input lag. Actually it is because of heap replacement from NVSR and exception handling from NVAC. They suppress so many crashes you play until the game starts finding new ways to big out.
  21. No, I've never served, but was a government employee working at White Missile Range. I worked directly for the DOD for just over four years. SRB is is just my initials and I spell them out phonetically.
  22. I think the original reason for using the skill cap remover was do to people not being able to level up for certain playthroughs (i.e. mages, warriors...) without using the other skills that their characters wouldn't typically use. The argument came from the fact that TES lore seemed to have classes and we should be able to play the game that way even though Skyrim didn't set up for classes, unless you count the standing stones which I don't. More of a TES preference over a Skyrim preference. As I've said a few times, Skyrim isn't very lore friendly to TES.
  23. What is your modlist? How many BSAs do you have?
  24. Make sure that you edit the NVSE and 4g Loader directories in MO. click the drop down for the executable and hit edit, then put in the correct path since you just changed it. Sorry, forgot to mention that part.
  25. Yes, you are right about ENB, but that is only if your GPU is working hard. Your GPU may actually not be working hard enough because the CPU has a bottleneck. I figured that out after optimizing more and more wasn't working. I finally gave in and dropped a couple gameplay mods to free up some of the bomdardment my CPU was taking.
