Agree with that; however, it may be even better to use a "Solutions" tab to hold a list of links to subpages of the TG, as too many tabs can be difficult to scan. In fact, we could eventually have a form-based query of the subpages based on user input, no? The TG should articulate neatly with the Support forum (links to/from each the other). The "Solutions" tab is what I meant by some table of contents/intro tab, so we're on the same page :P I don't think we can query the headers directly, but we can make them assign themselves to a dummy property and then query based on that. Perhaps the theoretical FAQ should be a tab on this page as well. We really need to start making that.

Make sure you've followed the Skyrim Installation Guide and are using Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer, that will ensure you get the best starting point that you can. If you plan on using an ENB or other lighting mod I'd suggest you stick with the Baseline recommendations, but you probably have some room to use some of the higher-res landscape textures. Just take it slow and test often. Good luck!

Neither's in the running for this release, so I'll remove the tag, but we'll probably grab that other one next release.

One would hope so. I have a feeling that the next couple decades are going to be particularly interesting for a number of reasons.

Any chance you could post your hosts file (or the relevant part at least), I'd definitely be interested in doing this. I agree that there's way too much being done but to be honest I don't see the government doing anything effective about it, especially given the international nature of the Internet.

The weird thing is that following the link (and making them pay the Nexus! Ha!) takes you to a not very good looking website with not much more than some Bible passages, unborn babies, and a mailing list signup, but I guess that's all they need to start riling people up.

Luckily those have mostly disappeared, I actually had to refresh a few times before seeing it on the main page of all places. I hope it's just Google being stupid because that might turn off a lot of people visiting the site for the first few times. Unfortunately Google has a lot on me, although I've turned off every tracking thing they let me and use Ghostery everywhere. Now I'm mostly seeing MMO and other videogame ads, but I'm still going to pass this on to Dark0ne and see if he can't do anything about it.

Since I turned off my ad blocker on the Nexus, I've been getting some really odd advertisements. For the last few weeks I've been getting this... ... and now I'm getting ads for networking software... in German. Does Google think I'm an ultra-conservative German or does the Nexus really get ads this close to the bottom of the barrel? I guess I'll VPN my way to Europe and browse the Nexus there to see what I get. I really hope Google isn't misunderstanding me that badly, that doesn't bode well for their insane amount of data and "targetted" approach.

ACCEPTED The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard Rewritten - Arvak (by Oriius)
Farlo replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Sweet, thanks! Could you take a look at my Wizard for Silent Skyrim, it seems to work fine but when you start the wizard all the options are already selected. -
Made some heavier changes than I was expecting to, but I hope it looks even better. Also changed the name to "AMD Control Center" since it could be either. The images might not appear right for a couple minutes, I'm renaming them to something less generic than "Step#".

By default it should only adjust the level cap to 999 and "effective skill cap" to 199, and that's what we want. STEP doesn't like to mess with Vanilla settings, and changing the level curves would hugely impact the gameplay. I believe you can simply change the XP rate as a percentage by individual skill, although I haven't looked at the INI recently. There should be instructions and explanations in it or at least on the mod description page.

Along those same lines, I would include in link to the Troubleshooting Guide in the announcement on the forum. Users should be first checking the Troubleshooting Guide before posting their questions in the Troubleshooting forum.Good point, updating it right now.

DROPPED Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows (by EvilDeadAsh34)
Farlo replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I agree, any time we can convince the mod author to include the Wizard is a win in my book. It means less we have to deal with and more people get to use it. -
It does, thanks for the work! I'll give it a few edits and see if we can't merge the two pages so they follow one-another at some point today.

The SIG should be pretty much done, that one got a hell of a makeover. The Troubleshooting guide could use a lot more clean up and personally I think each tab (aside from any ToC/introduction tab) should act more-or-less independently to solve one issue. Last time I looked, there were quite a few notes that were out of date and there is definitely some newer advice missing, although I can't remember any of them...

Skyrim, if it were recorded on a shaky camcorder. In universe.

This belongs in STEP. -
He's not a moderator. There's no need to berate him because he wants more explanation.Point out where we've failed in a calm, non-offensive manner and we'll try to fix it. Bashing people until you get what you want != constructive criticism. If you want to make a Bashed Patch (Google it) then WB will be needed, but since STEP doesn't require one at the moment we haven't put any emphasis on it and MO alone should work fine. Obviously more than 2 hours, so hold your damn horses. If you haven't noticed, everybody around here is doing this on their own free time with no compensation, so don't get all antsy about wanting an immediate response to a question that doesn't need answering (see my reply on the BSA Extraction's guide thread). Also, don't post the same question twice, all it does is make more work for us so we can't help others in a timely manner. I've actually been using WB recently, so I might not be the first person to contact about this.

That would be a great idea to add to this forum:Anybody who posts an issue has to include in the OP: -> rig specs -> STEP version & extra mods -> screen resolution -> driver settings -> Skyrim settings (Medium/High/Ultra plus user tweaks that affect performance) -> general mod resolution options (always highest, mixture of 1k & 2k only 1k) -> installing method If this information isn't given -> no help can be expexted. I've just added this as a header to the Support forum, let me know if I missed anything.

Try logging out of the forums, clearing cache and whatnot, then logging into the forums first, and then the Wiki. That usually solves it.Restating the following for clarity because the above recommendation is not correct, and I keep seeing folks suggesting this. The login process for the Wiki and the Forum are two completely different processes. Logging out of the forum will not affect ones ability to login to the Wiki. The primary reason that a user would be unable to login is usually that their primary group is not set to "Registered". Ah, ok, guess I'm running on old knowledge; I keep forgetting about the primary group.

You're right, it's not on the modlist on the Wiki, I swear it was... I need sleep... -

Both are already done. -

Anyone with a forum account should be able to edit the Wiki, follow the instructions I posted here.

Thanks EisDrache, that page sure does need the attention!
