  1. Updated comparisons with The Divine Shrines (thanks Captainnoob).
  2. You can always ask a simple question like that, even in a mod thread. If you haven't noticed we tend to go off topic quite often around here :P The problem is that you're pasting the URL for a page with the image, not the image itself. What you need to do click through to the full size image, right-click the image, and select "Copy image location" (Firefox's wording, may differ) and use that URL. Updated it for you again. Also adding these to the table on the Shrines HD page.
  3. Any chance you could use ReviewStudio with the ESP I made and the following saves to get images that match the others I posted? Custom ESP - Replace the original ESP with this one. It adds a grey studio with a bunch of stuff I've been testing in it. If people find it useful I can upload the ESP without all the extra crap in it, just the additional grey room. Save 1, Save 2, Save 3, Save 4, Save 5 (Don't mind the room name, forgot to change it when I first made it).
  4. Nope, the mod managers don't care what version you're using; they don't even pay attention to the files beyond name and folder structure. Just make sure you have the Updates set to off in Steam and hopefully they won't force v1.9 on you.Â
  5. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32402     Vanilla       Spriggan Retexture While they don't look like plastic anymore, the wood is just far too blurry/pixelated, especially on the Matron.
  6. As long as you're using WB or MO you won't need to re-install everything when the patch comes, you'll just need to update those specific mods, which shouldn't take much time at all. No one's sure if Steam will force the update on us or not, but if it does then you're stuck either way, so you might as well enjoy the game while you can. If memory serves the patch should be out in a couple weeks or so. As you said, once the update hits we'll need to wait for a new SKSE at least, I'm not sure what other mods may be affected.
  7. Oh, well I did it a different way. I just double clicked on the bsa file and it opened a little window with all the textures. I then just did extract all and it put it in a texture folder. Then I just compressed the esp and the textures file into one 7zip file and put it in wrye bash. Was this wrong? What program did the BSA open in? If all you got was all the textures with no folder structure then you did it wrong. That guide tells you how to set up BSAopt so extracting is as simple as double-clicking the file and clicking one button in the window that appears.
  8. Unfortunately yes, Steam likes to automate things a bit more than we'd like. And actually the bigger problem is that loose files will always overwrite BSAs, so this mod mostly won't show up. In order to get the proper effect I suggest you grab the ESP and BSA, copy them somewhere else, and then unsubscribe from the mod. Then you can extract the BSA and install them like any other mod. I'll point this out to the other admins, this could cause a lot of problems if we start recommending mods from Steam. Sorry...but do you have any idea where I can find the esp and bsa? They'd be in the data folder? I'm confused on what exactly a bsa vs an esp is as well. Do bsa's contain textures and sounds and esps only activate a mod? Yes to both questions (basically). A BSA holds all the assets: textures, meshes, sounds, etc; while an ESP tells Skyrim how and where to use those files. They'll be in the Data folder and named the same thing (minus the extension of course). So basically I just find the bsa and the esp and then just compress them into a .7zip file and bam, that's it? Just add it to WB and position it accordingly? I can't find anything in the data folder called terrain bump but maybe it's called something different?Yup. Then unsubscribe from the mod so Steam's not messing with your files. To get it to download the first time you might have to launch Skyrim's built-in launcher, I just remembered that Steam uses that. I also suggest you extract the BSA and install them as loose files for best effect.Ok got the esp and bsa. How do I extract a bsa and install it as loose files? Again, if you could tell me or point me to a guide that tells me, that would be great. We actually did make a guide for that one, here it is. The first tab is all you need to get Terrain Bump working, but following the others couldn't hurt either.
  9. Welcome aboard Benjamin! If you want the fancy but useless Mod Author nameplate toss me a PM on the Nexus to confirm this is you. I can't think of anything in particular that needs fixing, but there's still plenty of Vanilla that's not covered.
  10. I use WB, but it's ultimately up to personal preference. I can't recommend installing manually even if you know what you're doing, there's just too much that can go wrong and there's no way to look at conflicts without looking at every archive side-by-side. You also can't tell which mods are providing which files or easily test multiple mods without constantly re-installing a whole chunk of mods. If TC still does everything manually I have no idea how he does it.
  11. I subscribed to it with my steam login. That atomically downloads it, right? Am I able to arrange it in the install order? Or do I just need to hope that it didn't overwrite anything? 12. You can always repackage the files manually, so yes that should work. Unfortunately I don't use MO anymore so I can't really help diagnose the problem.
  13. I saw this one as well, but I really don't want to make all those comparisons, I'm already starting a zoo in the ReviewStudio cell as it is. Also on my list to do are the Spriggan, Statues, and Tents mods by him.

  16. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32591        Vanilla         Dwarven Centurions  I like the added (only emphasized?) detail, not too crazy about the increased brightness though.
  17. The Wiki's pretty simple to start with, check out Wikipedia's Cheatsheet for the basics. We've also made a number of helpful templates for font size, font color, galleries, and sideboxes.
  18. Does anyone know what the "japantutest" and "loctest" options are in the Beta Participation window? Are they just tests for new localizations?
  19. Have you managed to get this on the Wiki like Z suggested?
  20. Nope, a missing BSA won't cause any problems. Skyrim will just resort to grabbing the required files from the Data folder. This allows us to customize the installation order (which textures, meshes, etc. get loaded) independently from the load order (which ESPs get priority).
  21. New SMIM version changes the campfire meshes, which this mod also changes, although I don't know what exactly this mod does. I left a comment on the mod page asking for an SMIM compatible version.
  22. So I got bored... marking this mod for testing.       Vanilla         Golden Gods Shrines       Shrines HD       The Divine Shrines    The Divine Shrines (optionals) I'm not sure who thought Golden Gods Shrines was a good idea... even without the HRDLC the Vanilla ones aren't awful. Personally I like the changes this mod brings, but even if we decide against it I think we should remove Golden Gods Shrines.
  23. I'll grab the pitchforks!
