I took the plunge getting ready to start a new game ( I start a new game whenever I make any drastic mod changes, it sucks but not worth the risk ). I disabled/changed out all the RND and related stuff: Collect water from wells - RND CompatibleWater From Wells - Dragonborn RND VersionW.A.T.E.R - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux RND Tastes a Bit Salty! VersionMy goal is that Isoku's mod will be a lot more streamlined then RND...To be clear, RND has never caused me an issue of any kind that I can attribute to it. I am not a hardcore survival player, but I do disable fast travel and want there to be an in-game reason to eat, drink and sleep...otherwise why have that stuff cluttering up the game? I like Isoku's design approach and trust his scripting skills to pull it off.

DROPPED Ragdoll Paralysis (by silverfish)
Kuldebar replied to keithinhanoi's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I just installed this, I hate seeing things suspended in weird places after certain fights -
@Phazer11: I'm sure it's in the same vein as Arthmoor's comments: The Arthmoor quotes are from a blurb on the Unofficial Skyrim Patch page and a forum post... I think it is wildly off base because it fails to address the relatively easy way that MO user's can avoid having a problem...mainly via common sense practices. Yes, a powerful utility like MO in the wrong hands could undo the best laid plans of mice and modders but since when is that a reason to go full luddite on something? I can think of a thousand other ways a user could screw the pooch in Skyrim without painting MO as the problem. A good reply from Tannin on the subject:
-
I don't understand this but I know Arthmoor holds the same opinion. In MO, the Unofficial Patches (in correct order) are at the top of the left side list and in their respective BOSS ordered positions on the right side pane. I have MO unpack all BSA's on installation. I see no reason to say it's "bad" for one mod over the other. It's either a good practice or a bad one but yes it could be a problem if someone mixes all their files together. There's a saying in the world of electronics: "electrically the same" thus I see no discernible/quantifiable difference between the two methods if you use Mod Organizer. If you don't use MO, I could definitely see how a nightmare could quickly occur if you unpacked and dumped all those files into the same directory.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Keith, well and fairly said...I actually didn't realize that "that guy" was the author of Footprints. I just don't like making people out to be the "bad guys" for the sake of needing scapegoats. And yes, that includes dear Boris, I do point out his prickly porcupine nature at times but my intention is to not make him out to be the "bad guy" in this either. He simply is notably impatient with people at times and as you said, somewhat prone to reactive changes in directions...I get whiplash. :) -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The predictable posts begging Boris to put the ExpandSystemMemoryX64 setting back in the build are a tad bit ridiculous. They pretty much lay the blame on that one guy who posted about a possible SKSE Alpha and ENBoost setting conflict. Yes "that one guy" also criticized Boris's dismissive attitude and reaction to the suggested possibility of there being a problem. Well, you can't get anymore dismissive to concerns than by pulling a central feature from your build without making any attempt to work things out with other parties. So when Boris pulled the parameter with a slight acknowledgement of there being a possible issue, the pitchfork-bearing villagers more or less completely ignored that admission, choosing to disparage the only person (on their forum) who actually suggested that SKSE Alpha and that particular ENBoost parameter might have some undesirable interactions. Taking your marbles and going home is your right, but throwing temper tantrums and having people cheer you on...well, that's the type of enabling behavior we could use less of in the world today. Working with people will always take more effort than just shutting things down. As far as I am concerned, the decision Boris made is either: an admission that there was actually a problem with ExpandSystemMemoryX64 parameter a decision based on a vindictive or spiteful reason So, take your pick, both reasons suck. Yes, he can get mad and take his marbles home, it's his right, but it's not a good way work with other people in order to resolve problems. His work is not taking place in a vacuum; the sheer success, value and popularity of his software necessitates the equal need for coexistence along with the awesome of work of so many others. We don't need to pick sides, planting flags is a generally bad idea in the field of ideas. -
I wonder why it wouldn't work consistently? I've not tried it yet in game, but I'd think the file would apply wherever there's the snow shader effect in game assuming no overwrite conflicts by other snow related mods...

This really looks like a good fix without all the compatibility grief of BDS. jacktthompson Now to try it out in a game... PS I don't use Static Mesh Improvement or Better Dynamic Snow...too invasive for a modded game, imo.

SKYRIMLE Immersive Player Dialogue by JeremeW5257
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
After looking at them, I agree...some are quite awful...overly wordy...glaringly pseudo-archaic in nature. It's the textual equivalent of of "over-acting". Having stated this, the mod is based on a very worthwhile idea which needs addressing in Skyrim. Default Skyrim has some truly cringe inducing replies and phrases from the player character. Some make you sound like an idiot or simpleton, others like a rude mfcker. I'd prefer a more balanced approach, not overly flowery, nothing jarring with a tighter/more concise style.. I'll probably tackle this as a project in the near future. -

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That's a pretty big deal. Reading that, I would have kept ExpandSystemMemoryX64 disabled from the start and ensured I always enabled the Driver Memory Manager. At present, I have the following: [MEMORY] ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=true <---I wonder if I should change that...but I am currently not having any meaningful issues, so I shall refrain DisablePreloadToVRAM=true EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=128 VideoMemorySizeMb=4095 EnableCompression=true AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false -

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
As always Keith, your pilgrimages to the slopes of Mount Parnassus always yield instructive interpretations. :) -
Haha, I just noticed the doubling yesterday...it was very slight only a bit of texture sticking out on one side of the chimney in Riverwood. So, it wasn't too horrific, I can't believe I misread the blurb on the mod page, completely drew the wrong conclusion, lol.
-
I'm an idiot! I have been using both mods: Hearthfire Chimneys for Skyrim by Scarla and: Chimneys for Skyrim by Ithlia. Thinking that one was for Hearthfires and the other for Vanilla...lol. I initially read this and didn't comprehend, silly me.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Kuldebar replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Boris: Now see, that's first time I heard that piece of information. So having DisableDriverMemoryManager=false mitigated or reduced the ExpandSystemMemoryX64 functionality? And, then there was the Skyrim patch for PC 1.3.10 which added 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware) support...so, the "expanded memory" setting was always a curious thing to me. -

Post subject: Re: TES Skyrim 0.251 So, this issue is still smoldering, at least enough for Boris to pull it from his build. Seems rash to me, because the issue if it exists with the SKSE builds only impacted a few people by all accounts. PS keithinhanoi, this is all your fault! :P -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Player Dialogue by JeremeW5257
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Housecarl and Homeowner Greeting Fix by InAComaDial999 I use this mod instead of a Lydia specific one... So, there'd be a conflict I'd imagine. -
Immersive Player Dialogue by JeremeW5257 OK, I admit, I have always been annoyed by the phrases used in the game, way too anachronistic and casual for my taste. I'll be tracking this mod, probably won't use it this play through but in my next for sure. Most of the changes seem spot on, a few I don't care for... Example: adding "for a price" to the end of "I could get recover it for you" -it is not reflective of the original statement when you offer to get the Riverwood Trader's Dragon Claw back.

Well, while I'd never use the word "perfect" to describe my tinkerings, I do prefer an enhanced realism to my fantasy games. And by enhanced, I mean better than reality. Wood/coal fires aren't usually white, pale or dim. They tend to be bright, orange-ish red and the larger they are the more intense...so that's a guiding principle for me. On top off all this, I don't use lighting mods, but for CoT and the CoT Weather Patch..so that's the canvas I'm working with and probably why I had trouble running Skylight ENB. But, I truly do think, as you indicated as well, fire balance is a good baseline to start a measure from when building a visual.

Photoreal ENB - Performance by Ghost A screenie I took and submitted to the mod page... A really nice solid, unpretentious ENB preset with excellent performance. No frilly weather bull-crap, use COT if you want that. I edit the enbseries to turn off DoF, I also swap the palette (Technicolor ENB Palette by Demidekidasu) for one of my favorites, but that's all to my own personal tastes. Shown in screenshot: fire, shadow, color...
-
Thank you, I'll search there as well next time before making a new thread.
-
This ENB makes Inns (for me) utterly and ridiculously dark. I like it's settings other than that. But, I prefer ENB's that don't require heavy handed lighting mods, other than imagespace type mods like COT, etc.

Remember that movie, Quest for Fire?" I often feel like I am on a similar quest with Skyrim and ENB's...in this case, "Quest for (orange/red) Fire." :) I recently just started making my own Frankenbstein combinations in order to get fire right. My theory is this: If fire is tight, Inside or outside, Whether day or night, Then you have it right. I downloaded: Photoreal ENB - Performance by Ghost Adjusted some settings that I don't use (DoF, for example) Then swapped out the enbpalette, which is fine but I like a little more color spread, so I use the Technicolor ENB Palette by Demidekidasu and voila! I now have real coals, embers, flames and the correct light glow from fire. None of that pale, anemic washed out stuff. It was frustrating because I had spent a while choosing all my fire texture mods only to have some of the really popular enb's just kill fire (presumably) in order to adjust for other effects. But, in my opinion, if you can't get fire right, not much else matters. Dungeon fire... Interior fire... Exterior fire... ZOMFG...no fire...wait...lantern!

Thanks, for some reason my initial search didn't find this very interesting thread!
