Reason I'm entertaining the idea of using it is that the regular BOSS seems to slowly becoming outdated -even though I submit new mods to it. And I find userlists to be very cumbersome to create and maintain when there's more than a few mods that have to be categorized. Obviously. I don't necessarily expect the new rendition to be easier but perhaps it will have more recently updated masterlists?

STEP: MO Load Order Warning after using BOSS
Kuldebar replied to JareX's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'd really like to know why I get errors after running BOSS from MO, that never used to happen. -
@Octopuss Wondering, under Profiles in Mod Organizer, do you have Automatic Archive Invalidation checked?
-
No, it's fine, I didn't take your comment as mean spirited...it's just I've had so many niggling issues with Skyrim and mods in the past I have a very low tolerance for putting up with stuff like that in the game. I come to prefer stable stable vanilla more than awesome but glitchy, assuming I have to choose. Hell, the game's glitchy enough before being modded, lol. Could it be related to this: Very briefly discussed here.

I don't use SMIM, I find it overly demanding and problematic. I replaced those horrific fences with the ones from Tamriel Reloaded:
-
No, I don't sit down to play Skyrim for untold hours on a modded install if it has craptastic glitches like that, no thanks! I found out the catalyst for the problem on my system, but I just wanted a better understanding as to the how and why of it.
-
Yeah, I'd do that and moveto player to test if she was back to normal...she can be sometimes hard to find even when she isn't invisible. I'm chalking it up to another weird Skyrim issue, but at least one that I can avoid, although I will miss using the this mod.
-
No, I haven't and that's a good point, but even if I found out it was some strange issue involving the USP and WhiterunAlivePiano.esp and I had to choose one or the other, obviously I'd go with USP. So, I didn't go any further down that road. My clean save was just with the official game and DLC's, obviously I was loading that save into a modded game, but I would enable blocks of mods at a time and gradually narrowed it down. But, you are correct it could still be two or more mods behaving together badly and not just the one, but removing "that one" made the problem go away. Actually, I forgot to mention that in my post...this problem doesn't happen with every new game but it has happened several times in new games, I usually would just give up and lose heart in playing that particular character because of the chance of some potential problems down the line. I mean when you start having NPC's fade into invisibility when you are only 3 levels into the game...well you don't desire to stick with it for 100 more levels. As much as I hated losing 2-3 hours of play on this new character, this time I resolved to get to the bottom of it, even if I had to load each of my 180 mods individually. lol For example, my last play through with 98% of the same mods had no issue, I was getting to the point of keeping my fingers crossed when loading into Whiterun and being relived once I saw Braith wasn't a disembodied voice.
-
OK, file this under weird and I still can't pin point what is the precise issue, but here it is: Dawn of Whiterun causes the NPC Braith to fade into partial and usually complete invisibility. Basically, like she (the whole NPC, clothes, skin, eyes, et al) in particular is being rendered in and out of the game, while interactions, voice and scripting all stay normal. So, how did I come to pint this issue on WhiterunAlivePiano.esp? Well, I first suspected Xvision Complete and NonEssential Children, even the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, but after loading up clean saves entering Whiterun for verification via the process of elimination I finally started looking at seemingly unrelated mods...like Dawn of Whiterun. ( also have a mod that adds trees to Whiterun, but disabling it had no effect on Braith, etc) But, I don't know how WhiterunAlivePiano.esp could cause this...my theory is that so much is being added to the city space that my PC won't render Braith? But why Braith and as far as I know, just Braith? Nothing on close inspection in TESSEdit showed anything to do with NPC's other than the NPC's added by the mod. All that I know is that like a flip of the switch, WhiterunAlivePiano.esp enabled = Braith becomes a wraith, WhiterunAlivePiano.esp disaabled = Braith is normal... O.o

Wells that are active, not boarded up, work. There should be a bucket on them that as an activator. As for water falls, don't use that feature that often but it's worked every time I tried it (haven't used it since the very last update though) UPDATE: Waterfall activation is working every time I've tried, at first you will drink and then any waterskins will be refilled using the "drink" hotkey you have set. It works for waterfalls in caves and on the surface.

Question about mods no longer on the Nexus
Kuldebar replied to Bundy714's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Skyrim Unbound and the Cathedral versus Parlor related talking-points are what I find "wrong" with that 800 pound gorilla which is the Nexus. -
Are you keeping track of the mod's development? iNeeds does "cover" diseases, meaning it has options for tracking them and further options for how they effect you. We are on Version 1.12 now :)

SKYRIMLE Immersive Player Dialogue by JeremeW5257
Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The KJV was translated into the contemporaneous style of the day, but yes, it was written in the formal manner and not the guttersnipe doggerel of the day. -

Kuldebar replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Hence the problem? :p But, it's a matter of personal taste, kind of like those contemporay English translations of the King James Version of the Bible which was at the time a translation from Greek and Latin which had been translated from Hebrew, etc. Out of all those, the KJV seems to "fit" better, but objectively there's no reason to think that...and, no I'm not religious, but I am the son of a preacher man. -
I use Microsoft Security Essentials myself, but I also practice safe internet.

FOMOD Installer - Missing Descriptions
Kuldebar replied to Narsis's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've noticed this too, but assumed it was made that way, meaning no one bothered to enter a description blurb. I think it depends on the mod, because I've installed some that do have all the descriptions of choices, etc. -
This is part of the (justifiable) reason that modders get criticized for not writing up adequate descriptions on their newly posted mod files, and rightfully so, in my opinion. There's a certain matter of trust when it comes to installing a relatively unknown and unrated file from an unrated or unknown author. Obviously, a balance has to be struck. But I always get a laugh when a juvenile modder will post a new file with a craptastic description, no images (if applicable) or other necessary information. Amazingly, there are many who will still download such...products. The "fake" posting of well known mods (Mod Organizer, for instance) is very bothersome...I could see how someone newish might fall for that.

Least tedious way to find a corrupt mesh?
Kuldebar replied to Noobsayer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Do you use Mod Organizer? If so, can't you just disable any texture/mesh related mods one by one for testing purposes, I've successfully troubleshot many a problem that way. For example, I learned the hard way ( the best way! ) about the Skyrim Misc Patches Collection - SMPC by Hexaae - it took me 45 minutes of loading up and enabling select blocks of mods and COC'ing on a clean save before I was able to pinpoint the source of a serious terrain issue -turned out to be SMPC corrupt edit. So, tedious, ok maybe, but extremely effective. -
I haven't used Immersive Patrols yet...the files listed on Nexus seemed fairly complex...modular is nice but I have no idea where to start based on their descriptions. (A B C D E (Modular Installer, Merged Installer, Aggro) Do I only need "A"? And I am concerned with spawn overload while roaming, I have Immersive Creatures, Travellers of Skyrim and all the Populated Series at present.

Oh, that's a really good point. Yes, Interesting NPC's and Inconsequential NPC's do two different things using much different approaches. The "problem" with INTNpc's is that they are interesting, well so is every other NPC in Skyrim that comes up and shares their "life story". Shut up little girl, I don't care about your mother's produce stand or artic fruits! And, let's be honest, does Skyrim need more quests? Are there not enough already? ( I know that question is off-base ) Ripple makes some statements that sum up my own thoughts:
