Discussion topic: RUSTIC RELIEFS by Gamwich Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Most of these compiled mods were in STEP LE. However, it should be tested against any current conflicts within the SE Guide. Nordic Murals is already included in the Guide so there is no need to compare that. Nordic Dungeons Vanilla > STEP (mix of SRO & RCI) > RUSTIC RELIEFS on top of STEP The rest... Vanilla > STEP (SRO or Dragon Glyphs HD - Fixed) > RUSTIC RELIEFS on top of STEP

Discussion topic: Better Dirt Cliffs and Alphas by cthunsthrall Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Test Files: Depends on what is currently winning for STEP SE. The 2K version is likely the right candidate, however, if the current textures are 4K, then test against both 4K and 2K. STEP > Better Dirt Cliffs

Discussion topic: Rally's Lava by Rallyeator Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Test Files: 2K Test against current STEP SE. STEP > Rally's Lava Honestly...it's preference. There's not much difference besides the pattern. You all can decide.

Discussion topic: Hearthfire Extended by Kinaga Wiki Link STEP SE Note: Test Files: Main File Hearthfire Extended - Not actually a patch, but addon that isn't needed. This mod was in the LE Guide. Needs to be considered and tested for the SE Guide. Would likely need custom patching. Might be an issue with the basements.

Discussion topic: 4K HQ Puddles by cunny1975 Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Test Files: No ripples version Needs to be tested against current STEP SE. STEP > 4K HQ Puddles STEP is provided by Skyrim SE Improved Puddles and is a better fit for STEP. Current STEP provides various sizes and styles for the puddles, including frozen ones (which makes sense considering it's Windhelm).

Discussion topic: Immersive Spell Learning by Ameisenfutter Wiki Link I just found this interesting. Not sure it would be for STEP as most players would likely find something like this annoying.

We already have one. It's just not a public one, atm. We do plan on opening it up to the public, possibly with the launch of our forum update.

ACCEPTED RUSTIC ANIMATED POTIONS and POISONS (by dailyplanet/Gamwich)

I don't use it. Most meshes work just fine in SE without needing to optimize them.- 16 replies

Discussion topic: Step NoMansSky Guide A simple guide that fixes some issues, lessens annoyances, and enhances the vanilla gameplay mechanics without "cheating". Resource File: Nexus Mods

If you need to merge some patches, just copy all the records from the patches to a single one. xEdit will add the masters it needs when doing so missing masters shouldn't be any issue. Don't forget to sort your masters on your merge when you're finished, though.

It's hard to give anything but general advice for specific mods running on top of STEP...mainly due to having no experience with said mods. So general advice... Install mods to the Mod Groups they would most likely belong to. Resolve any file conflicts, if needed. Use LOOT to sort any plugins. Use the STEP Patches to forward any conflicts between it and the new mods (or create your own CR Patch to load after the STEP Patches)

Lods in EVT do not look like the billboard
TechAngel85 replied to Illuminate's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Yeah, that's why I chimed in. I didn't see anything wrong with the images and knew immediately what he had installed from EVT (want to take that mod over? LOL! ...I'm not kidding... ). That's why I asked. Seems he's just wanting higher detailed LOD. -
Lods in EVT do not look like the billboard
TechAngel85 replied to Illuminate's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Billboards usually are higher detail than in-game LODs. Your billboard could be 4K and very detailed, but your LODs will come out looking about the same. If you higher detail, 3D trees are your only option unless Sheson knows some tricks I don't to get more detail to come from the billboard to the in-game LOD. -
Once we have the new forums up, there will be a system set up to allow users to edit their posts once they've had time to acclimate themselves to our community rules.

Lods in EVT do not look like the billboard
TechAngel85 replied to Illuminate's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Could you please explain what is out of sync better? To me, everything looks correct. You've installed SFO v4 from the Alternative Trees files. The loaded and LOD TreePine match that. Vurt never converted these textures to the snowy pines, therefore, your light snowy pines are also correct (there is no match for SFO v4). Then you have SFO Snowy Pines installed from the same file. That seems to match your LOD for the TreePineSnow. ...so everything looks to be in order, unless you're wanting 3D trees. -
bug STEP Skyrim SE Guide v0.3.0b - Official Bug Reports
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
Exactly. ENBoost was just a memory manager that spawned additional EXE instances to hold data over 4GBs. It was a hacky cheat, but worked. It's not needed for SE and I don't think it even exists for ENB SE. I've ran into users trying to use ENBoost from Skyrim LE....like... errm...okay, lets not do that. SSE Engine Fixes does have an alternative manager, if those having issues for whatever reason. -
Should we be using UNP textures? (for FAR Argonians)
TechAngel85 replied to spaceoden's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I think it was the alternative ones, but I would have to look into it again. I don't play as Argonian, so I don't see this in the game enough to stare and notice. -
bug STEP Skyrim SE Guide v0.3.0b - Official Bug Reports
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
To follow up on top of DY, 1. Yeah, no recommendations. SSR can cause some issues with water so be aware of that. 2. DY is correct. There is no recommendations because ENB is too much of a personal preference. That is the "obvious" portion of that statement. It's hard for a Guide that is used by so many to enforce a specific ENB because users will just end up changing it to one they like better anyway. As for ENBoost, you don't need it. I don't think it's even a thing for SE. If you want an alternative memory manager (for whatever reason) use the one included with SSE Engine Fixes. -
