  1. I'll admit the textures do look rather "modern" in the game.
  2. That's a fair analysis. I tend to spend a lot of time in this armor as well once I get to that point in the story.
  3. I would have to agree. So the hoods are changed a bit...I've never had a problem with that. Compared to the other two, I can live with a few of the things this mod changes. It's just better until CaBaL retextures them.
  4. Took some compares: Vanilla >> This mod >> Nightingale Hi-Res I like the darkness of this mod; however, in all reality it would probably be impossible to get leather that dark in those days. Hi-res is a good alternative; however, even with it, it's some give and take. Some things are better while others look more blurred than vanilla.
  5. Okay, dropped from chnangelog. Edit: Removed from Guide.
  6. I'm down for whatever on this one. I've loading up some of the textures in-game and there's not that much difference.
  7. Progress! Can't wait for this to come out of Beta!
  8. Okay, got an answer. Post counts are disable in some forums (this happens to be one of them). I don't know why the admins decided this, but there you go.
  9. I use an ad blocker and Windows Defender. Seriously, that's it. I never have any malware/spyware issues. It's all about knowing and following best practices. As for your post count...I have not idea what is going on there but it seems to be affecting the entire site or at least a group of users. Mine isn't increasing either. :O_o: EDIT: Sent a PM to Z and S4N about the post count issue.
  10. I decided to and removed that line from the DDSopt Guide entirely as it has nothing to do with the Guide and the information needed in provided in the bullet point above it.
  11. This is really a non-issue (and this coming from myself who is trained in the IT field) and I see no reason to change it. We're not going to be instructing users to change anything on their computer systems that has nothing to do with modding. That is outside the scope of STEP.
  12. The Bash Patch is now in section 2.N and has be incorporated into the Guide as a mod.
  13. I say do some proper compares and we can make a better decision.
  14. You're confusing design with other changes. I'm talking about the actual texture layout on the mesh. The lines are still there, leather strips in the same place, symbols are the same, "hardware" pieces are still there, the lines in the leather still match up, the face cover is the same, the neck piece is the same... the design is pretty much the same. It's the choice in material, color, etc and the implementation of those things that you're having the issue with. At this point, I'm just arguing the systematics of your statement, but I needed to point out the actual design is pretty much the same besides the hoods. The texture choice for the material is different. With that said, the one you linked is probably closer to vanilla...though I play through this part of the game every time I get to it and have never had any issue with this mod either. We should annoy CaBaL until he does it! He's been absent from the Book for a while now anyway.
  15. I think it's better than the other options I've seen. It might not be perfect...but if you take a close look at the design the author stayed fairly close to the vanilla design besides the hoods. I asked CaBaL for this armor a long time ago and he said he was going to do it but never did.
  16. This: https://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_8.html might be helpful. I've changed a few of my INI setting per that guide.
  17. This sounds awfully familiar to another recent issue.
  18. In all honesty, once he gets this latest release and set of features all patched up, I see no need for updates unless it's just bug fixes. New features are nice, but aren't a need. So when he does get to the point of walking away, I don't think we're going to be hurt any by that action.
  19. :wallbash: STEP is waiting on a stable version before releasing 2.2.9. At this rate, it'll be next year...haha!
  20. 1.2.8 is now up...when you are able to download it...
  21. Finally just finished installing through "Covering the Mojave". Nexus is being a slow butt today so I think I'll come back to finish the rest of the guide later.
  22. I followed the authors notes (running FOMM from MO): Fomod install Disable Unified HUD before install.Download the mod and install automatically with FOMM. Enable Unified HUD after install. And this got rid of the message. It also placed the Flashlight MCM menu at the bottom of the list in-game.
