SKYRIMLE Interactive Clutter (by fireundubh)
TechAngel85 replied to fireundubh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The FPS is still capped to 60FPS in the STEP solution which doesn't have the vanilla vsync enabled. This is done through ENBoost for best performance in the realm of smoothness during gameplay. At least, that's the low-down of it. There was a great deal of testing done before this solution as implemented. Thus far, no ill effects have been reported. I'd be interested if your mod still worked the same with this solution over the vanilla vsync.- 65 replies

We've not had an issues within the last two releases that it's been disabled. What exactly relies on it being enabled in the engine?- 65 replies

I load up with v261 just fine. It's either the ENB you're using or maybe an incorrect installation. (I'm using Vividian Vanilla)

SKYRIMLE Interactive Clutter (by fireundubh)
TechAngel85 replied to fireundubh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think vsync was used back then; however, I'm not positive. It could have been left up to the user. Currently the STEP Guide instructs users to disable it in the INI in favor of setting it in ENBoost. I have to be careful with vsync and framerate limiters due to having an IPS panel. The panel doesn't enjoy being forced by some of these solutions to do one thing or another.- 65 replies

The file name on your computer is probably "mo shortcuts.png"; however, the wiki for whatever reason capitalizes the first letter on the wiki so the name on the wiki and the file name is different...meaning the wiki is looking for a file that doesn't exist (all due to that capital letter). Capitalize the first letter of the file and then reupload it. It'll be fixed. I've already pointed out this issue to S4N.

The Unofficial Patches have updated. Cultist Mask Decapitation Fix is now has 0 non-conflicted files so it looks like they got the missing meshes back into the patches. This means we should be able to dropped Cultist Mask Decapitation Fix.

I didn't mean any disrespect by my comments, just to be clear. I simply wanted to point out some of the issues with More Interactive Items. Whether this issues exist or not in your mod, I don't know. But it's worth being aware of them.- 65 replies

SKYRIMLE Interactive Clutter (by fireundubh)
TechAngel85 replied to fireundubh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I don't remember all the detail since it was so long ago. I do remember is was pretty much a unanimous vote for dropping it because it was just ridiculous and seen as a rather pointless mod. I do remember part of the issue was objects from rooms would end up in the middle of floors for no apparent reason, bumping into some objects would send them flying around the room, simply walking into some rooms would knock things off tables and objects on some tables with people sitting at the table would constantly bounce. I also remember it being described as the "poltergeist" mod. The community wanted it removed from STEP as much as some STEP team members.- 65 replies

More Interactive Items was once in STEP; however, it caused too many issues with havok so it was dropped.- 65 replies

The War on Microstutter/Input Lag
TechAngel85 replied to Breems's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Have you tried to lower the Pre-rendered frames from in Nvidia Inspector? Setting this parameter too high can sometimes cause mouse lag. -

In your FOMOD, you should consider changing Step 1's group types from "SelectAtMostOne" to "SelectExactlyOne". This will remove the "None" option from the choices available which can cause some confusion and potentially cause improper installs since you're currently giving the user the choice of entirely skipping over the ENB files which (I assume) is not intended. On Step 3 you need to add in an additional group. One for the DoF options and set it's type to "SelectExactlyOne". Since all the DoF options would overwrite each other, you can only install one option but you're giving users the choice of (attempting) to install all of them if they desire. The second group would be for the Enblocal file, Dirt option and SMAA which can retain the type "SelectAny". The third you can keep for the Support or add them into the second group to eliminate the third group to keep just two as you have now.

Hey, Winterlove! My Windows 8.1 had a meltdown again. I'm back up and running Windows 7 now. I'll get back into this in a day or two to do some more investigation. Right now I have to make sure my STEP install is still in tacked. I know the LOOT rules and a few masters are missing so I have to run through the Guide.

ACCEPTED Improved Close Faced Helmets (by navida1)
TechAngel85 replied to mothergoose729's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I rarely wear helmets so I've never noticed this. Would be nice to get it fixed though. -
Oh, it's definitely overpowered and probably not something for STEP but it still looks sweet and would be a good addition to a strict mage character.

From the video this look awesome!

Yeah, sounds like an issue with the custom race you're using. I'd hit up that author about it because these work fine in STEP. -
ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
TechAngel85 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
New version out! Kinda minor but major improvements to one armor: If he starts fixes issues with more armors we could be in a mess with CaBaL being MIA right now. -
Feature requests should be requested on Tannin's Bug Tracker here: https://issue.tannin.eu/tbg/modorganizer/issues/open I've been wanting to see this feature for a good while. There aren't any mods in STEP that need BSA extraction for hiding files...yet. Though STEP isn't in need of it at this point, I'm sure we will be eventually and I'm sure some users could utilize it now in their personal setups.

Unfortunately my history in Photoshop wasn't set up to back far enough to undo the down scale (an oversight on my part since I haven't used it very much on this PC) because I thought of that. I might just redo some of it because now that I know how to clean up the skin, I'd be able to do it in half the time it took the first round of learning. I've never check my memory usage those....it's only using 800mb with three files open atm.

Quick Update: I haven't been sitting down on the job...though my RL job has been taking most of my time. I ended up running into some seam issues that I had to resolve. Turns out the femalebody_1_sk.dds file is important in helping the seams to be hidden. There is still very slight wrist seam but you have to be right up on it to even notice it. This seam was visible in WSCO as well. Overall, the skin is looking good. At least 50% better than it was. I've also fixed the black seam on the inner right thigh that is present in vanilla. I'll probably be fixing the gaps around the underwear too if I can (haven't looked into it yet). I've noticed that at least one of the normals (muscle tones) will likely be dropped due to some funky stuff it's doing to the skin (causing vertical lines)...though I haven't ruled out the specular causing it yet. I'll be testing that tomorrow. Nothing else to report really. There has been a lot of trial and error and redoing but it's coming along. EDIT: Oh, yeah... I've also reduced the skin texture from 4096 to 2048. WSCO's skin texture was for some reason a 4K texture. Seamed like overkill to me, especially seeing there was a lot of detail on it, so I cut it in half.

Fore's New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS (by fore)
TechAngel85 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You should have installed DSR before FNIS if you're following the STEP Guide. Install DSR according to the directions then run FNIS according to the directions on the wiki page. -
yep, this right here!
