Athletic, toned and fit body is perfectly fine...just look at what better males did. The point is, wielding armor and heavy weaponry it going to produce a fit and toned body (more so than what vanilla provides). I'll look more into it vs the vanilla body, but I haven't seen anything wrong with this so far...granted I'm not running around naked either (and neither would you while actually playing the game). We're not aiming for the perfect body for pretty screens. We're aiming for something that works and is a bit of an improvement over vanilla.

Okay, here is the compilation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1_Nlyy2ueu0TEhTZml2YS1URkk/edit?usp=sharing EDIT: Don't forget to deactivate XCE when you're testing. XCE-Dawnguard is okay to leave active.
-
Okay, I've heard back form all the authors besides Mature Skin, which I think will be okay. I'd almost rather not include it in the compilation in case someone wants to use a different skin. I'll put the compilation together in a bit and post it here for testing.

If you are using the Extended Patch, skip it. If not, then you'll need the patch. I've updated the instructions to be a little more clear.

Thanks for the information; however, since STEP doesn't use IA this would better be suited or at least copied to that thread so those users that are using IA.

[*]Deactive the XCE mods [*]Install High Resolution Scars [*]Install XCE - Scarface and its update [*]Install only the meshes from FemFeet (we only need the meshes) [*]Install Mature Skin using Alternative body and face textures UNP [*]Install Mature Skin UNP Normals and hide the femalebody_1_msn.dds file (texturesactorscharacterfemale) [*]Extract Diverse Muscle Tones 5-1a High Vanilla [*]Delete everything from the mod exept for 10 UNP-Vanilla folder. [*]Navigate to 10 UNP-Vanillatexturesactorscharacterfemalemuscletone [*]Delete all the file besides toned4_1_msn.dds [*]Rename the toned4_1_msn.dds file to femalebody_1_msn.dds [*]Move the new femalebody_1_msn.dds file up one level into the female folder and delete the muscletone folder [*]Now re-archive the mod and install it. Your mods should be in that order. It's a bit complex but I'm in the works with authors to get permissions for a compilation.

The face textures are straight from Mature Skin. The khajiit's face is also transparent...that's from improper ENB settings too. Guess I should have just took them in my personal setup which is setup properly. Oh well.

Here are all the races in no particular order. There were taken with STEP:Core and I did have an ENB active for these shots in order to get rid of the horrible shadowing on the bodies. The only real issue is on the Khajiits and from my understanding this is an issue with most body replacers due to the fur. The khajiit textures would have to be altered to fit the meshes to get rid of these seams. Ignore the no eye thing...that's due to me not having the ENB set up properly for Core. I'll see what I can do in a bit.

I've tested this combination out and it looks really good! Not hard to setup if you know what you're doing (might be harder for new modders); however, would be best if we could get permission to host the compilation ourselves so that it's a quick and easy install (similar to Better Males). All skin tones look good, all races look good and all weights look good. I've tested nearly all the armors out in the game and I saw no clipping. The only thing is a very slight visible seam around the ankles, but it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. It would take someone doing custom mesh/texture work to be rid of the seams completely and we don't have a team member that does that type of work. All-in-all, I say this combination is really good!

Just testing this one out. It is good and very beautiful; however, not quite what I'm looking for. It's a bit more performance heavy that I'd like for just a plug-and-play experience. I tried both the Full and Full Performance version and both dropped me down into the high 20s on my FPS. There was only about a 5FPS difference between the two.

The vanilla version is a little misleading. It does, in fact, change the colors. However, they aren't fantasized in any way. They remain their vanilla counterparts but have added richness and depth. More than anything the lighting is corrected which goes a long long way. Overcast days are no longer oddly bright, but feel like an overcast, cloudy day.

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
The manager and the ENB Guide do not a a lot of emphasis right now because STEP has nothing to do with ENBs for the moment. The ENB Guide was written by myself initially and then overhauled by other users. It's maintained only by one or two people as more of a personal project than anything to do with STEP. That might change soon as I have an idea to advocate an officially recommended ENB for STEP for the 2.3.0 release (which is still a long way off). It's just an idea but we have a couple ENBs now that are very vanilla friendly which would fit into STEP very easily. Vividian Vanilla version is so far the lead contestant. -
I'll do that. I'm also going to try out Serenity ENB. I have an idea of advocating an officially recommended ENB for STEP for the 2.3.0 release (which is still a long ways off). So far from the few I've tested, Vividian Vanilla is spot on for something like this. The fact that it has a performance version is also extremely helpful as well; making it open to more users without the need for tweaking. That part is essential. It has to be as much plug-and-play as possible without the need for a lot of tweaking in order to be the most successful as a STEP recommendation. I'll be doing more testing today and will check out the regular version (no COT though...that think is a pain to make compatible in a setup like STEP and is one of the reasons we dropped it from STEP a lot time ago).

The enable/disable might not always work. I think it's due to the NPC will being loaded in a buffer or memory somewhere and when re-enabling them, they're simply reloaded from that buffer as they were. I tested that and had the same issues. However, the resetinventory seemed to always work, even on NPCs with just partial missing clothing (like a pair of boots).
-
Just tested out the Vanilla version and have to say I'm amazed! I did get a lot of invisible textures but I'm sure that's because I haven't completely set up my system for ENB as I was just testing (still have hardware AA on, etc). Is the vanilla version compatible with ELE? I know the main version is but there's not much talk about the vanilla version on the mod page.

Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB

Okay, you pulled my leg. I test it tomorrow but I have to say I just tested the Vanilla version of Vividian...not sure I can play without it now! -
Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Post Processing
So I've tried this one out in-game and I don't care for it. It's way too bright (even when the game's brightness turned down), the lantern's glow is far too orange and some shadows are far too dark. I'm sure the plugin is great but the ENB part is not for me. -
I'm in Oklahoma and the humidity is currently at 83%! Anyway, I updated the Batch Patch instructions and the Book of Silence mod page with a notice that Batch Patch must be used with Content Addon or issues will arise (this is because I was helping a user earlier that wasn't using it). About to post an announcement.

I think the categories are protected from normal users so you might not even be able to do that. I'm not positive what is restricted and what isn't since I have unrestricted access.
-
Yep! You can do that if you want or I'll get to it in a bit. I just got home from playing tennis and NEED a shower! The humidity is insane right now!
-
+1 to that! I think at least 1 out of every 10 questions have been about this.
-
Eureka! This worked! I can now confidently update the mod page. I'll also post an announcement about it to ensure all users know about this issue and the fix since this is potentially affect a LOT of users.
