ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)

Thanks, I've fixed it. -
Guys, navmeshes work by telling the NPCs where they can and can't walk. Without a navmesh the NPCs wouldn't be able to move at all, or shouldn't be able to. This is why when putting mannequins in the game, you have to make a navmesh island that is just a square around the mannequins themselves and not connected to any other navmesh. That's because Bethesda had the brilliant idea of making mannequins NPCs rather than just activators that display your gear. So the mannequins will actually wonder around if you don't do this and end up in your kitchen when you next load the cell. Haha! Anyway, knowing how navmeshes work, that setting sounds like it's meant to disable the NPCs from using Navmeshes which to me says that they should stop navigating around. It's either that or perhaps it tells the game the the PC can only walk where Navmeshes are if enabled. This could prevent the player from getting stuck since they'd only be able to walk where the NPCs can walk.

It would be nice to already recommend settings for users with more powerful rigs. I've been following some of these changes and stating the default and recommended values are good, but also stating the settings for lower-end and higher-end systems would round things out nicely.

SKYRIMLE Jaggarsfeld Extended (by TechAngel85)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mod Author Topics
Bug-fix update (v1.3.3) released: Bug-Fix Update After Darthmathias submitted a bug report about an error while sorting masters, I started investigating. This investigation led to finding a mountain of Navmesh data which shouldn't have been in the main plugin. I have cleaned all this from the plugin as well as sorted the masters and removed a few other records. The ramifications of this data being in the plugin is mostly harmless though there were a few overwrites which could cause problems. I highly recommend all users update Jaggarsfeld Extended to this latest version! You'll notice the size went from nearly 70.5MBs down to about 6.5MBs. -
Well, everything appears to be in order. Thanks for the help guys!
-
Regardless, all that shouldn't have been in there when comparing to other plugins and then comparing to a couple backups. I deleted the entire Navigation Mesh Info Map tree, loaded it up in the CK, re-finalized the navmeshes for the cells in the worldspaces only pertaining to my mod, and saved it. After checking in xEdit, this seems to have worked fine. The tree was recreated but wasn't junked by all those records anymore. I haven't tested it in-game as I'm heading to bed, but will test it out first thing in the morning after my coffee.
-
Okay, I've cleaned out most of the rogue data. The only thing left is the Navigation Mesh Info Map, which seems to be filled to the brim with map data that is not need. Does anyone know if I delete this if it will cause any issues? I think it'll take a good month to clean it completely out.
-
Yep, very odd. No idea hire our why it's happened. I'm thinking I'll just go through and do a lot of deleting in xEdit. I can't think of any reason these Navmesh records should be in my plugin.

At this point, I'm out of ideas. -
Think you. So it fix this, can I just delete it once I find it? Yeah, I have no idea why he was sorting masters for an entire load order. My plugin's masters are already sorted. Also, do you know why the CK would add all this Navmesh data to my plugin and if it'll cause any issues deleting it? I have Navmesh data from places like Fort Dawnguard...my plugin is in its own worldspace so why this is added by the CK is beyond me. I have yet to run xEdit cleaning on it but perhaps this will take care of some of this seemingly junk data in my plugin? Like I said, I know just enough about xEdit to be dangerous...not enough to be smart. ::

I am having some texture loading issues.

If I remember correctly, if you set that to false you will not have the ENBoost feature. I'd have to look it up to be sure and I'm on my phone right now. -

Looking at your logs, your FPS dips coincide with spikes in your GPU and sometimes CPU. I don't know the cause but this was my observation. Can you make the following changing to your SkyrimPrefs.ini in MO: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/3758-shadow-optimization/?p=137458 -

Where you get those settings? They're all off for just ENBoost. Here's mine for comparison. Yours will be slightly different, but mainly only in the memory section. -
I've run into an issue with my plugin. A user reported this when he attempted to sort masters. The error that is provided is: Parent of a NVNM is not identified as a CELL Assertion Failure (...\TES5Edit\wbDefinitionsTES.pas,line 2197) "..." is the path to the folderWhen I ran "Check for Errors" with my entire load order, I get the same thing; however TES5Edit glitches out and I can only close the app from there when viewing some records. Here is the bug report it saved: https://copy.com/lK2Q0ltfZQqbfXvW Update: the above only happens with I'm loading up a larger list of mods in xEdit. If I only load up my plugin and the masters, Checking for Errors finishes without that error. After looking around there is a ton of Navmesh info saved to my plugin which I'm assuming the CK added because I know I didn't and they have nothing to do with my mod's worldspace or shouldn't; however, I'm unaware of how things like this work so it could be normal. Doing a Google search for, "Parent of a NVNM is not identified as a CELL" didn't provide anything useful. Update 2: removing my ESP and sorting masters on my entire load order completes correctly. With my ESP, you get the error above.

GUIDE Guide:Skyrim Configuration Settings
TechAngel85 replied to Octopuss's topic in Unofficial Skyrim LE Guides
I'm on DY's side for this one. Regardless of whether or not it only affects string settings, having a standard is good and DY's in this case is the correct way.- 46 replies

After seeing that video, I'm very excited about this game! I loved XCOM:Enemy Unknown and still have an on-going modded game. Much harder when modded, and that's the other great thing about XCOM 2. Fully mod-able!

Microstuttering in 3rd person running/horseback riding on good rig
TechAngel85 replied to scorpgul's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That's correct; however, that doesn't mean other programs wouldn't use it for other reasons. Have you disabled all unneeded background processes? At this point I'm starting to suspect the card itself or something else in the system that is choking your performance. Simply because it runs other games okay wouldn't really matter. Skyrim is most likely using a lot more resources than other games would. Find another game that would use the same or more resources as Skyrim to find out if they card is the cause. I currently don't have any recommendations on that, but perhaps others would. I doubt any benchmark software would do the trick. -
Donations are working. Link at the top of the forum, unless you found a link that isn't?

Good, case-in-point. I'm not sure the user was implying this or not, but I read it this way so to make it clear...STEP has nothing to do with the authoring of Mod Organizer. We promote it as the official mod manager for STEP (if you think it's hard, try Wrye Bash...Haha!), we host the official forums for Tannin (the author) because he needed a place for proper support, and we host the official wiki because it's convenient. That's it. We're just providing services, not authoring MO. I've still yet to hear any good detailed feedback that would allow us to improve anything. The feedback that was provided and was good feedback was fixed. So there's your proof that we're willing to fine tune things that new users find confusing. However, videos will not be provided. We've already explain this would be far to much maintenance for us, so that subject can be dropped. Sorry, just not happening. We've told everyone what we need. Detailed feedback and specifics. I'll be checking out of this topic from this point on until such useful feedback is given.

Thanks for the feedback and I like the suggestions! -
Exactly what I was going to say. This is a basic function of MO which users should be familiar with. It's laid out in the MO Guide.

The resolution you're playing at is going to play a big part of what you can and can't do. If you're on a 1080p monitor, then there is really no point of going any higher than 2K textures since you will not be able to really see the extra detail and it'll simply look overly sharp (usually in a bad way). This has been my experience. If you're gaming at higher resolutions, then it'll take more processing power and you might just cripple your system without realizing it.
