More or less. 2.2.9.2 --> 2.10.0 was us cleaning up the version scheme of the Guides and getting that back on track. Now that we'll be changing the framework and how everything will be put together before the next release, it'll go to 3.0.0 instead of 2.10.0. The 3.0.0 version of the Guide will finally have STEP:Core separated form STEP:Extended. They will be two separate Guides. We have a lot of work to do to get there, though! :: S4N is still weighing options for our new server, but that will happen this month and then the fun begins!

So I've ran around testing this, shooting every material I could in sight (including hay bails and stacks) and the arrows stuck into everything I shot at. So that test came up with no difference on my end. However, the general advice is still good. You never want to run over 60FPS due to the havok engine. Those that need to limit this are users that have 120/144Hz monitors which vsync will push the game past the 60FPS mark. These users do, without a doubt, need to use the limiter.

I would have to test it out. Though GP is very thorough, I never say one way or another unless I've tested out the claims for myself. I will say that if limit the FPS, then there is no reason to use vsync. I might be able to test this out in a bit.

Nice to see you again, Tenkay. I have merged your old account into your new one so that all posts, PMs, etc from the old account will now reflect the new one. The old account has been permanently deleted. Surprise! v2.10.0 will be coming v3.0.0! State of STEP: forum.step-project.com/topic/11935-state-of-step-february-2017/

Issue with software anti aliasing
TechAngel85 replied to TirigonX's question in Post-Processing Support
You can remove that and "EnableZPrepass=false". ENBSeries will populate the file with any missing settings when the game is ran so you need not worry if anything is missing. Extra parameters will not hurt anything either. They simply will not do anything. The file looks good. -
DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
TechAngel85 replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
No, it's a separate mod installed in the Landscape & Environment section of the Guide. -
DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
TechAngel85 replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod hasn't been in STEP for a long time. We use RWT. SparrowPrince has retired WATER. Some of his files should be incorporated into RWT soon. -
STEP v2.2.9.2 Official Bug Reports
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Thanks! I've updated that section to reflect the next release's rules. Those were recent additions to the Guide since the LOOT team doesn't want to add our suggested meta rules. This will align the mods at the end of the load order as we have them aligned for the STEP Patches. -
DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Done. The notice is referring to the STEP Patches, which is installed later in the Guide. Users should decide up-front if they will be installing the Patches or not. This will be address more fully in the next release. -

ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
TechAngel85 replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
So is this a simple port or have you gone through and reworked anything? EDIT: I seen in the comments it's just a port. Still good to have it on the SSE side while work on Remastered takes place. -

ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
I would say that texture combiners are only popular among newer users. Once users get the hang of modding, most like to completely customize their experience with individual mods with custom edits. -
ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
You're welcome. :: Textures are installed in MO simply being downloading the mod and installing it. Clicking the "Download with Manager" button on Nexus should download the mod to MO and then you can double-click it on your "Downloads" tab to install it. For more information regarding MO, you can view our wiki: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer It has just about anything you need to know about MO within it. -
Download the compilation again and try to install it. It was just update anyway.

ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
Yes, you will need the files from a preset. Else, you will nee default files from ENBSeries. I'm not too keen on how RealVision installs, but I will attempt to help. Make sure you make the necessary changes to your SkyrimPrefs.ini within your MO profile (use the INI Editor in MO). -
ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
If you're just trying to use ENBoost, you need to change your Globals in your INI to this: [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true UseDefferedRendering=false IgnoreCreationKit=true If you're wanting to run a preset, you need to have the Preset files present in your directly with the Globals set to how you have them now: [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false UseDefferedRendering=true IgnoreCreationKit=true -
ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
Do you get the ENB messages in the top left corner at the game menu? Wait...are you wanting to run a Preset or just ENBoost? -
ENB Files only causing game to CTD
TechAngel85 replied to Gameraustin5790's question in Post-Processing Support
Could you post your enblocal.ini and give us a screenshot of your Skyrim folder. I'm assuming by "2010 one" you mean this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 ? -
No. You only need to run it if you add mods that have lod textures.

Okay, you have all the required plugins for the Extended Patch. You can remove the following as they are not needed with the Extended Patch: BetterQuestObjectives-CRFPatch.espBetterQuestObjectives-DBForevertoMisc.espBetterQuestObjectives-NECPatch.espBetterQuestObjectives-PaarDilemmaPatch.esp Are you using MO and not MO2? MO2 is not supported for the Guide as it's still in a beta state. Next lets make sure you are using the internal installer. Open MO Click on the wrench and screw driver icon. Go to the Plugins tab Click on "Fomod Installer" In the pane on the right, make sure both setting are set to "true".

Sweet!
