Project ENB Red and Yellow flickering
rootsrat replied to Ryski's question in Post-Processing Support
What Aiyen says. Download a different preset, comatible with the same ENB DLL you have and see if the issue is still there. If it is, then possibly try a different ENB version... And yes, it could be also a driver. ENB didn't work properly with one of the recent nVidia drivers for example. -
Companions (and Werewolves)
rootsrat replied to WilliamImm's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I gave this mod a quick test just now and it works perfectly fine. I killed the Wolf Master, the message appeared and I was able to get each of the 3 wolves to follow me. Pack mode also works. No problems! I am now including this one in my mod list :) -
I can volunteer to create s patch for STEP: Core mods and keep it updated, as the STEP: Core updates. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4

Most interesting, Wolverine. If that works indeed, it would be much easier than using FOMM!

EBT - Enhanced Blood Textures BFS - Burn Freeze Shock effects DSI - Deadly Spell Impacts indeed :) All 3 of those mods are known culprits for causing in game freezes during combat.

I was wondering, as it's possible to edit ENB ini files on the go, prior to Boris introducing in game menu, (which is effectively GUI in game INI editor), you could (still can) AltTab out of the game, change INI (or FX file for that matter), AltTab back in game and use Backspace key to reload the INI in game. That was what made me wonder if something similar is possible with Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini...

Is that possible at all? If so, can all the settings be changed in fly? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4

Please help, Random CTDs and Load screen freezes
rootsrat replied to MallaVelve's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No problem, happy to help. Disregard my comment about Babette.esp - I thought it's Babette's Food or whatever the extra recipes mod is called. If it's part of another mod, then we're talking about something else. Interior-exterior transitions are the most likely spots to get ILS, as opposed to CTD that can happen at any given time in game, depending on what's going on in the background. You have differentiate between different type of errors in Skyrim. I might actually write a quick FAQ about that... -
Please help, Random CTDs and Load screen freezes
rootsrat replied to MallaVelve's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Quite a list you have there. Load screen freezes are calle Infinite Loading Screen and it's a problem that no one is able to resolve. In a nutshell - it's the game engine freezing when trying to load too much info. It's very difficult to diagnose. When you have too many scripted mods + many LOD mods + high res textures for example, you're more likely to come across ILS. It's the current public enemy number 1 for me :/ The only way is to reduce your mod load and retest. There are some spots that it happens more often - i.e. Markarth to Skyrim transition load screen (i.e. go to Markarth and try to go out to Skyrim again). Dragonsreach to Skyrim transition, Jorvaskaar to Skyrim. CTDs in game are most def to mod conflicts, and this: is no good at all. When you get CTDs with a particular mod set up adding even MORE mods to it, and in addition mods that were not properly tested (at least by STEP team) is a very bad idea. A few observations: - You moved a lot of mods in your load order - why? Let BOSS sort them out for you. - At least 1 mod you have is not made in Creation Kit (Babettes) - they aren't best to use, can cause problems - StaticMeshImprovementMod.esp is not required, you can delete it - SkyFalls - Falskaar Edition.esp is duplicated in your list - SkyTEST will make a heavily modded game VERY unstable - this is confirmed information - Many of your mods I've never used/seen/heard of - can't vouch for those. The bottom line is - your mod list is too big. Unfortunately Skyrim engine has it's limitation. I learned about it hard way - after inputting many hours into what I thought was a stable set up. This happened twice to me and now I'm in the process of redoing my mod list. I reduced it DRASTICALLY. I would advise the same to you. Choose only the mods that you REALLY need. Install them first. Before you install the mod, ask yourself - is it really something I MUST have in my game? If the answer is yes, don't install it. Mark it as MUST HAVE. After you have MUST HAVE list, go through it again and ask the question again. Then install the mods that are left on the list. Test your game for stability. Then repeat the process for the remaining mods, testing each time. No, really. Reduce your mod list is THE solution. :) -
I've had a brief look at the screenshots on Nexus and I wasn't impressed. I also noticed that on the comparison to vanilla screen (there's only one) author's screenshot has improved visuals (nicer colours across the scene) as opposed to vanilla screenshot :P Cheeky.

The best game in Fallout series?
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's topic in General Fallout 3 Discussion & Support
Yeah, I have about 70 games on Steam that need playing :O All purchased on sale. Guess I just like collecting games :) -
I looked for a solution as well and I didn't find one, apart from using FOMM. There are a couple of other mods that are only available in that format. It's not very bad, just a time consuming, and each time you want to update the mod, you need to go through the whole process again. The easiest (from user point of view) solution would be for Tannin to implement the functionality to install such mods directly from MO. Not sure how realistic that is though. Maybe we can get the answer on our new MO Support forums? :D

I pretty much has just copied Gopher's build with a couple of my own additions. I was out of game of Fallout modding for a couple of years and I haven't followed any mods. I use however Mod Organizer for FNV. I've also tested Project Reality (I used to use it ages ago) and new Nevada Skies (URLWFied - it's not available on Nexus anymore) and I didn't like either, so I sticked to Gopher's choice of Wasteland Lighting Overhaul, or whatever it's called. I found really nice ENB that looks extremely well with that mod and also uses newest 225 dll, that allows for ENBoost to be used, and therefore ditch FNV4GB + you can use better quality textures overhauls! It also makes the game more stable, as it's run via NVSE rather than FNV4GB.exe. I currently use over a 100 mods (about 130 plugins that is) and my game is perfectly stable so far, although it's still at early stages. As I've said, I'll look into this more closely over the weekend, but I have a feeling we will be able to create a great modding guide here!

Nice one. There are a few I've not been aware of, I'll be defo checking them out.

Let's find out what you guys think! Which one was the best? Feel free to explain your decision here :) For me it was Fallout 2. It had a great story, great sandbox world, many side quests that kept you engaged for months! There were lots of community sites blooming on internet at the time - at least Polish ones. Fallout Bible came out -- and that was the most awesome thing, it gave A LOT of background to the games, it was a must have for any fan. It was generally great time to get sucked into Fallout Universe. Fallout 1 was just as great I think, and I generally put them both at the 1st place exequo, but UI was better in F2 - hence my decision to vote for it. Fallout Tactics - it wasn't TOO bad, but it generally was a tactical game more than RPG... Fallout 3 and FNV are totally differeny story. They are great, don't get me wrong, I do like them a lot, but nostalgia wins :) In general - Fallout universe is one of my favourite video game universes ever!

Hi guys. I asked our Admins to create this subforum for Fallout fans out there (I'm sure there are many of us here!). Feel free to banter freely about Fallout in this thread. I will be looking at creating a Fallout New Vegas modding guide, possibly this weekend, so watch this space.

Help: Loading screen freezes with possible CTD
rootsrat replied to Eu4orick's question in General Skyrim LE Support
First impression - Infinite Loading Screen problem to which is no solution. But you haven't got that many mods installed, no LODs... Strange. Don't know what to suggest really. Loading screen freezes tend to be quite random as well and hence are hard to diagnose, unless you have a spot that they are 100% to happen. -
Need help find what texture is messed up please

De-sticking this, unless it was sticky for a reason?
