  1. I use SR:LE & REGS and don't encounter any conflicts. The start locations are made with compatibility in mind by Arthmoor who is part of the Unofficial Patch team, so I'd expect it to be safe with the exception of mods mentioned in its readme (for instance don't install Helgen Reborn until after completing the Helgen intro obviously). I recently started as the owner of Shoal's Rest farm outside Rorikstead and its compatible with ETaC's changes. Starting as a Companion simply puts you in Jorrvaskr with a suit of heavy armor, Adrienne Avenicci has the same smithing tutorial as Alvor, and the first rumor you hear at an Inn directs you to Helgen so you can pick up the main quest from there (post Dragon attack / Keep destruction). phazer11, on 18 Sept 2014 - 1:22 PM, said: Well, another reason it hasn't been added is it requires more editing to make patches since the start locations and such conflict with other mods so they would have to be fixed in the patch.   2. I learned about it from Teabag here on the STEP fourms, I think the alternate starts differ too much from vanilla for inclusion. I won't play without it now, and you might be on to something, AS-LAL using the "crossing the border" Helgen intro option would be more of a "fix" for those of us with trouble at start and possibly a STEP mod with those instructions. Glad things are working better for you, have fun.

  4. Welcome, yes, but why do you think you won't see the game at its best? The STEP mods will make it stable and aesthetically pleasing, it sounds like that + Helgen is stressing your machine a bit so AS-LAL can give the game a time out before you continue the intro uninterrupted. Try it out, I think you'll like making your character first and then continuing through the original intro without having to stop part way for that interface. Later on, if you want a new spin on things you can try an alternate start and begin as a Companion, Shipwreck survivor, researcher deep in Blackreach (caution, hard!), or a homeowner.
  5. The intro sequence has always been very demanding resource wise, and its usually suggested to wait until after it is completed to add mods, which is why I like AS-LAL. You are able to start the game without the intro running while your mods install, then you can create your character in RaceMenu which is also a potential resource hog (think hair mods, etc), then begin the Helgen intro without it having to fight for system resources (also be sure to shutdown unneeded background programs, close browsers, etc before launching Skyrim). Best of luck, trouble at start can be quite frustrating when you just want to play.
  6. You can select the relevant patches in TES5Edit and compare the changes so you can see what's being carried forward.
  7. 7 ) If you installed with MO you can run the; RWT, Skyfalls/mills, etc installers again selecting the Falskaar & Wyrmstooth optionals and have it replace the file (just name it the same and it will go to the same folder & overwrite).
  8. I just hid the conflict, looks fine now. Time to go on walkabout and say goodbye to ETaC v12.
  9. What he said, except I'm a Relighting Skyrim kid. I'm still using ETaC 12 and hunting other bugs, something gave me floaty trees in the distance (Realistic Aspens? Ultimate Lush Overhaul? I'll find the culprit and bring them to justice, in Stendarr's Name!). [spoiler=Images] And the winner is ... Realistic Aspen Trees replacing SFO's LOD.
  10. I notice that Antistar is active on the mods forum, and has a modder's resource available as a downloadable file, perhaps someone with the skills to put some wear on those textures will step up & email him for permission to upload?

  12. This looks great, but does it conflict with Mfg Console? They both alter the same interfaceconsole.swf file which according to the mods description and forum posts is an incompatibility. Mfg console is a pretty useful troubleshooting tool, but I suppose you could segregate them by using separate profiles.

  14. I'm not aware of any conflicts. AS-LAL will allow the Helgen intro to play as intended, you just move the character creation piece to complete first and proceed up to & past Hadvar without hesitation to the chopping block without stopping to do it then.
  15. I find Alternate Start Live Another Life particularly useful for this sort of thing with my STEP + "the kitchen sink" set up. AS-LAL will start you in a prison cell and give scripted mods a chance to initialize without the intro fighting for resources. Once your MCM and scripts sort themselves you can proceed through the RaceMenu piece, in peace, and then select an alternate start when ready. The Helgen intro is available by selecting "I got caught crossing the border illegally". With your character creation and such completed, hopefully the intro can play out properly (without excessive lag and other chaos).

  17. I believe they are standalone REGS mods now, not out of the REGs guide, it was Nernies Whierun additions that were removed from the REGS Cities plugin in favor of/to make way for the ETaC ImSett Whiterun Exterior optional. If I understood correctly.
  18. Afterschool Special ... [spoiler=spoiler]... even gives you a mattress to crash on before you finish the quest & the refurbishing of the schoolhouse/home. ... Or you can borrow Victor's sorry vanilla shack until your remodeling work is done. Quick trade sounds great. I've been curious about Mobile Truck Base, there's also Ghostdancers Motorcycle Fast Travel System for a fast travel alternative (optional trunk for storage and survival skill based random encounter system) which you can use to travel to seven destinations in the Mojave.
  19. I'm trying to wait until the ETaC v13 patches and/or REGS tweaking is done to launch a new game with my optimized (now fat free!) profiles, but the waiting ain't easy. I'm toying with the idea of an AS-LAL Blackreach run to keep busy instead of my brief Deep One shipwreck alternate start (Cthulhu FTW).

  22. Starting with an existing profile, with a save outside of Solitude, could you then create copies of that profile (with Dawn of, with JK's, with both) to avoid having to add/remove the mods. As far as camera position, perhaps use landmarks for your position (a sewer entrance, or back to a particular merchant stall, etc) and parts of unchanged vanilla landscape/architecture for your crosshair. Obviously I'm no screen-archer.
  23. I could use them, if I would hurry up and start my new game but I keep dragging my feet to allow various authors to drop their latest updates. I'm not sure what changes in Rorikstead between ETaC 12 & 13, or Riverwood for that matter so I'm stalling (at least for a day or two, maybe). Yup, Serenity plays nice with/requires ELE, I just mentioned it because my light/dark impressions will be different than the Vividian kids (another excellent enb preset) (of course the too light/too dark thing is super subjective anyway and best delt with by users through their enb gui).
  24. I dropped EK Limited as the script runs continuously, and when it detects you're over capacity it picks something at random to drop, I got frustrated pretty quick. I could someone enjoying the immersion, but like Frostfall & RND I found this more trouble than its worth (to me, just my opinion, your mileage will vary).
  25. Thanks for posting these, looking forward to checking them out once MJB's ETaC v13 patches collection hits the Nexus. I use Serenity ENB, so my experience will be a bit different from the full SR:LE users.
