ACCEPTED Alternate Start - Live Another Life by Arthmoor
redirishlord replied to youtoo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's really playing out nice, the key is to approach the Reboubt cautiously and it's all good. I've been playing around in the CK and now Druadach has plantable Hearthfires soil in the potato patch, and some more crafting amenities. I thinking I should "dig out" my own cave residence and build a merchants counter in front of my old tent so the future Mrs Forsworn can unload to swag I loot from passing patrols. Maybe even some pint-sized bedrolls for little Forsworn if their idle markets are as straight forward as gardening. Next I need a stone quarry, claybed, and maybe a hawk's nest to harvest for gear requirements. I think I'm getting a little addicted, a second Underforge space for my high born Companion recruit and some kind of lair for a Sorceror are both going on my to do list. -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)

Gotcha, you convinced me so I posted up with some supporting evidence to second your nomination. If there's some testing functions that I could be doing while continuing to enjoy my current profile, I'd be happy to contribute on that front. -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)

Not to be argumentative, but consider this quote from the mod author Reko: "TDoD's perk restriction system was entirely custom and didn't actually impact decapitations, turning it off made it act like vanilla Skyrim so it could be compatible with SkyRe. VioLens doesn't have any of that, so it's already compatible with SkyRe, and the Perks option for decapitations should be compatible since SkyRe still uses those 2 Perks to allow/restrict decapitations. I think it just renames one of them. If you find that it's not working with SkyRe, let me know, and you'll have to force decapitations On with the toggle whenever you get the respective perks." from the mod's description page: Incompatible Mods; The Dance of DeathAdvanced KillmovesCombat Drama OverhaulMore Killmoves for all Weapon TypesAny mods that also change the way Melee/Ranged Killmoves work. Since STEP Pack authors may desire to use one of the above incompatible mods, STEP Extended is probably a better fit than Core, but the assets & mechanic are a corrected & extended vanilla. -

After further testing, and a post from Arthmoor on his AS-LAL comments, it appears that my issue with Druadach Forsworn Faction hostilities was due to entering detection range before the AS-LAL was able to place me in the correct faction. If I fast travel to the Druadach Redoubt map marker I am attacked, if I fast travel to the Druadach Dwemer Rubble nearby and walk up to the Druadach sentries all is well (this was after a quick trip to Riverwood Traders, so leaving the Druadach area and returning is "safe" ). Now that that is sorted I'll disable fast travel through BFT Carriages & Ships and play on. -

"I'm probably going to add a "bounty bonus" where, if the bounty is above some threshold, the bonus would break the identity score cap and circumvent the detection system altogether, thereby providing at least the illusion of Forsworn membership." This should theoretically suit AS-LAL Forsworn Native start perfectly as you begin with a 2000 septim bounty in the Reach by default. -

Okay, I have some limited experience with the CK, I've edited follower & home mods to tweak them to my liking. I have no idea how to alter the player character with an esp file. Any thoughts on getting started with that? I'm game to try, just a bit lost. -

Well put. I think I'll paraphrase you in request on his/its Nexus comments. -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)

Since the mod allows for greater control of vanilla kill cam assets, and seems generally well received &/or stable, I suggest it be considered for STEP. -

I do use Master of Disguise by fireundubh (which works great within it's scope, and in my case more for interactions with city folk, I have to change out of my native garb if I want to go town and into a disguise if I want to avoid arrest in the Reach because of the bounty. However, the disguise mechanic doesn't work if you want to use a Redoubt as a home or base, discovery occurs due to proximity or time, which is inevitable. Ideally what I'm looking for is a durable Forsworn faction assignment that I can mitigate through disguise in the Reach cities and towns (assuming the rest of Skyrim isn't hostile to Forsworn as well, that would make obtaining quest objectives problematic as disguise isn't going to hold up in the long term). -

Do you think it is altering my faction then? Is that something I can manipulate myself (resetting / maintaining it)? -

I've been using AS-LAL and a variety of immersion mods to play as a Forsworn native (thanks very much for including it in SR:LE). I see that I start with a bounty in the Reach (I guess my native face tattoos don't wash off) and that plus some in game investigation leads me to some questions to better enjoy my AS-LAL experience, if any AS-LAL / SR:LE users want to jump in with comments they would be appreciated.I have good relations with the Forsworn of Druadach Redoubt (as expected), and appear to be on good terms with the neighboring tribes. When venturing to Markarth I am confronted by city guards (as expected with the bounty from the alternate start) and I selected "take me to jail". After either escaping or serving my time I find that returning to Druadach Redoubt (my base of operation and loot storage) results in hostility from the Forsworn native there.I'm curious, are there particular events that will change my "forsworn status" or relation to the Forsworn? In particualr being sent to Cidnha Mine (Markarth jail option) &/or taking a mission that involves a Forsworn location (Arnleif & Sons lost shipment, etc.). -

This is working great in game, not noticing a big difference from DoD but that's a good thing. Ranged killcams for archery working as desired, no failure as experienced in other mods. The MCM and current support makeit worth the switch from DoD. -
TES5Edit mod merging question - related to SR:LE guide

Yeah, DoubleYou really saved the day with that one I would have never thought to exit & relaunch for a proper check, he probably saved us both a lot of future heartache & troubleshooting woes. -

TES5Edit mod merging question - related to SR:LE guide
redirishlord replied to Glanzer's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I have a list of plugins I've merged with that script on my STEP profile page. It might give you some ideas on what you could successfully merge with the TES5Edit 1.65 script. Pro tip I got from DoubleYou: after creating the merged plugin, Exit TES5Edit, Launch TES5Edit & select just the new merged plugin, Then Error Check. When I ran the error check without exiting TES5Edit was not finding existing errors. * you can merge a lot of the right type of plugins without issue. -
According to MO's conflict tab in the information window the script is being overwritten, my attempt to resolve it didn't produce a result but in hindsight I used an existing save - so maybe the problem is baked into the save. I've refined my Forsworn profile based on some mod testing & will restart to see if the problem is fixed with a fresh save (and to start fresh with my immersion mods in place). * you can call me Red' my people came over from the islands a long time ago.
-
I had the issue with latency averaging 51ms, not enough to cause problems. According to posted on the CCOR forum Skyrim Redone overwriting the mining script will cause the issue, in my case Mining Makes Noise (also by Kryptopyr) is overwriting the mining script (I don't use SkyRe).

You could use both, I do. -
I posted the following on the CCOR Nexus forum: I find I am unable to mine by activating an ore vein, often I can simply "back out" of the animation (S key) and manually strike the vein with an equipped pickaxe, although I occasionally become trapped in the animation and am forced to kill/restart Skyrim.I am using CCOR, SIC, CCO-SIC patch and Mining Makes Noise CCO version (in that install order in MO's left pane, LOOT sorted in the right pane to same order as well);/Scripts/Source/MineOreScript.psc & "".pex are being overwritten by Mining Makes Noise CCO version.Since I have Mining Makes Noise CCO version installed after Skyrim Immersive Creatures and overwriting the relevant script, should I just drop the CCO-SIC patch? Or is the patch doing more for me than fixing the script? Perhaps I could just add a LOOT metadata rule to load CCOR after SIC?Thanks in advance, and hopefully again after I'm able to get it sorted out.

Does disabling mods break STEP Core patches/ect?
redirishlord replied to d3v's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Have you tried the STEP DDSopt wiki for the vanilla / hrdlc textures? I found it easy to follow (since the batch files make it mostly automated) and beneficial to performance. -

Is there a mod like Followers Keep Up on the Nexus?
redirishlord replied to fireundubh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Amazing Follower Tweaks includes a dynamic speed that accomplishes that, but you probably are aware of that option.
